Two professionals discuss how the insurance industry treats women, focusing on the challenges of working in a male-dominated field. They emphasize the need for authenticity at work and finding environments where women feel genuinely supported rather than tokenized.
We are an industry where I've seen behavior towards women be less than ideal. And I'm being very kind when I say that. And I think a lot of women then feel they have to play the quote unquote, man's game. And unfortunately, then they're not who they are. They're not showing up as themselves.
Yeah. And I think I so agree with everything you said. And I think as females, we have to remember we don't need to mold ourselves to anyone else. And if you're being asked to do that, you're not in the right job. And thank goodness I'm not being asked to do that. I mean that you need to be in a place where. Or a job where it allows you to show up as you and understanding what your superpowers are. Right. Why you would be someone that someone else would want to work with. And if you know that walking in the door and you're your authentic you, you might not be the person for everyone. I'm not everyone's cup of tea. I'll be the first person to say that. But for the people who I do work with and that value me, that's who I want to work with.
