Cory Hillary wanted new baseball bats and golf clubs as a kid. His mom told him he'd either teach or sell, and since he loved material things, sales made sense. A man at Liberty Mutual promised him his first job after college.

I wanted all these new baseball bats and cleats and golf clubs, and I knew you needed money to do it. And I was like, where do I make the most money? My mom was like, you're either going to be a teacher or you're going to be in sales, and you aren't going to be a teacher because you like things too much. And I was like, okay, I guess I'll be in sales. And so we started chatting and I started having a conversation, and turns out this gentleman ran an agency that was affiliated with Liberty Mutual at the time. And he said, when you graduate college, give me a call, I'll give you your first job.
