You don't want anybody to know who you are. No, no, don't do video, don't make anything. Don't create any awareness. Just stay in the dark. You don't want anybody to know who you are.
Guys, come on. If you are trying to create more sales opportunities for yourself right now, you have to create awareness. Because if no one knows who you are, they can't like you and trust you, and they'll never do business with you. I get hit up by insurance advisors every day trying to figure out how they'll create more opportunity for themselves. And it's easy. You have to create awareness whether you like it or not. Today it's about a game of attention. You can't simply just pick up the phone, smile and dial and go pound the pavement anymore like we used to. It's too noisy. You have to grab attention. How? Use your centers of influence. Use social media. Have effective email campaigns, host webinars, find public speaking opportunities. Because if you do all five of those well, I promise you more people will know you, they'll like you and trust you, and eventually they are going to do business with you. But doing nothing right now isn't getting you anywhere. After I talk with most advisors, invariably I'll follow up with them a month later, ask them how the awareness creation is going, and I'll get a bunch of excuses why? Because you're afraid of judgment or you're trying to be perfect? Stop. Take messy, imperfect action right now. Make that video record, that podcast. Write a blog, host a webinar. Go find a public speaking event. Just do something. You're not going to be perfect at it, but who cares? You need to grab attention today. You need to create more awareness. So go out, grab that awareness. Grab that attention right now. Because the more people know you, they'll like you, they'll trust you, and they'll do business with you.
