You ever feel like you are caught in the shadows and nobody knows who you are? You're lost in a sea of noise. That's how I felt back in 2014 when Amy and I moved to Colorado. I went to work for a new company in a new market. Literally nobody knew who I was. And I quickly realized that to win in the game of sales, I had to get people to know me. Because if they were gonna like me and trust me and ultimately buy from me, they had to at least know who I was. And that's where you are right now. If you're in sales, it has come down to a game of attention. But there is more noise and commoditization than there ever has been before. So what are you going to do? To stand up and step out? Because here's the deal. You don't need help closing business. You just need to get more people to know who you are, because that's the only way they're going to like you and ultimately trust you. So how do you do that?
Start sharing your message. Shine a light on yourself. Show up on social media every day to bring value without wanting a damn thing in return. Because when you apply consistency, persistency and patience to your message, here's what happens. More people know you. More people ultimately get to start liking you, which is going to lead them to trust you and ultimately buy from you. Because if you're not sharing your message, you're going to continue being caught in the shadows. But why not step up and stand out and share your voice every single day so the world can see you, like you, trust you, buy from you, and you can have the sales career you know you're capable of.
