You want to be a top insurance advisor? Model these 👆 character traits.

Andy Neary reflects on his clients' recent industry award nominations and argues that consistent hard work, accountability, humility, and showing up daily—not networking or a secret product—drive success for top insurance advisors. He highlights specific clients (Chris Hamilton, Rachel Hawkins, Pamphiles, Joe Earl) as examples and advises remaining grounded when awards arrive.

After seeing two Complete Game Consulting clients be nominated for Broker of the year by BenefitsPro magazine, Chris Hamilton, Rachel Hawkins, you both absolutely deserve those awards. I've been doing a lot of reflecting. You know, if you see these awards that get handed out in the industry and you're somebody who's like, hey, gosh, I'd love. I'd love to get that nomination someday. Not that I want your career about being chasing industry awards, but if that's you, if you want to be that person up on that pedestal, I'm here to tell you, if you want to know what those people do, the people that are getting nominated for Broker of the Year, it's because they're putting their head down. They don't make excuses. They show up every day and they just put in the work. There's no secret sauce. There is no who do you know? No, they just do the work. And I look at our business right now and seeing these two individuals get nominated, I'm grateful, I'm blessed for the amazing human beings we get to work with and the brands we get to help build. We have people like Chris and Rachel Pamphiles winning an award with Higginbotham. Joe Earl has been nominated for an award in cyber insurance. Like, this is what happens when you put in the work. And I'm even guilty of placing our value on some people who don't show up for us, people who hire us, but don't put in the work. They make excuses. And I place the value of our business on them when I should be placing the value up here on the people, our best clients who are putting in the work, they're absolutely killing it. And so I don't know, it's a Friday. That's my advice to you. If you're wondering why they're having the success, and maybe you're still stuck in a little bit of mediocrity. No, you're not alone. There's a lot of people in the industry going through it. But it's not about searching for some secret product or solution. It's putting in the work. It's showing up every day, pumping out the content like Chris Hamilton does. It's not making excuses. It's not letting yourself off the hook. It's holding yourself accountable to just show up every day and put in the work. And when those awards come, here's the most important thing. When those awards come, remaining grounded, don't become your own biggest fan. What I love about these people that we get a chance to work with is they get nominations, they get awards. They receive all the adulation and the love, but it doesn't get to their head. They're humble people. They're good human beings. And when they win that award, you know what they're going to wake up the next morning and get right back after it.
