Andy Neary (speaker) reflects on a nearby wildfire that moved from ~40 miles away to right outside his town, noting the fear it caused. He frames a gray, rainy day as a "hidden blessing" given the wildfire and urges viewers to daily look for hidden blessings—challenging them to name three blessings each morning for the next seven days. The piece is an informal motivational vlog encouraging gratitude amid crisis.

Are you taking the time to count the blessings in your life right now? A little over a month ago, I made a video just like this on a snowy September day. And I told you about that wildfire that was about 40 miles outside of town. Well, guess what? A little over a month and a half later, it's right outside of town. It's actually getting a little scary. But today we woke up with a hidden blessing. A gray, cold, rainy day. When the hell would you ever find a gray rainy day? A blessing? When there's a wildfire right outside of town. That's when. Listen, you better be waking up every single morning and finding the hidden blessings in your life right now. If you still think you're entitled to everything in your life and 2020 hasn't taught you what it meant to be grateful, you have completely missed a point, my friend. There are so many hidden blessings in our life right now. But if you find yourself upset that you have to make a reservation at a coffee shop now, like I did this morning, or that Internet you're working on your laptop with isn't quite fast enough and you're pissed off again, you need to get a grip. You need to get a clue. Here's my challenge for you. Every single day, I want you to wake up this week, and I want you to think about three hidden blessings in your life. If you can't do that, you and I have something else we need to talk about. But do that every single day for the next seven days, and then let me know how it went. Because I promise you, if you take the time. Five minutes every morning to think about the hidden blessings in your life, I'm sure you can find one. Just like I found this gray, rainy, cold day to be the best day we've had in weeks.
