21 Pending Applications & $4.3M in 2019...Here's How

Chad Owen (creator) describes his insurance sales success and the systems that produced it. He reports roughly $18.7M in production in the previous year and early-2019 momentum with about $4.3–4.5M in written/pending business and 21 pending applications. He emphasizes building repeatable systems (lead follow-up, surplus leads, marketing funnel) and investing in mentorship/coaching (Agents Academy) to accelerate results; he shares personal background (started with ~$150K credit card debt) and current marketing spend (~$200K/year).

Hello, Chad Owen. With retirement realized Agents Academy, I was looking through my applications today, and this, this year has already been phenomenal. I think you guys have seen on LinkedIn, I wrote 18.7 million. A little, just a little under 18.7 million last year. I ended up being about 150,000 in total production since 2008. And this year started off with just a phenomenal start, one of my best ever. I actually have 4.5 million in written business. 2019. I have 21 applications right now pending. And I have really, when it comes down to another, probably 2 or 3 million that I'm working on. And why do I say this right now? 21 applications, 4.3 million in pending business right now. Why am I bringing that up? Because it's a system and a process that I've developed over the years that helps me produce this type of numbers. Now. Yeah, you can say, well, yeah, Chad, you get a lot of leads. That's true. But how did that start? How did it start? Because initially I was buying these leads that basically one lead was sold to 15 different agents, and I had to keep working those. I was using mortgage protection leads to get in front of clients for annuities. I mean, I went through the same process as a lot of you are, right. Right now, you're going through this exact same process of trying to make Medicare, Medicare leads work for your mortgage protection or final expense, or trying to work a warm list, or you're doing seminars, whatever it is, and you're starting from the beginning. I remember what my initial budget for marketing was. It was next to nothing. But now I spend about 200,000, a little over $200,000 a year in marketing. But I started from nothing. I started from $150,000 in credit card debt. And I've developed this process to where now it's a machine. It just keeps going and going and going. I just, I even have to kind of cut back on some leads. I had to drop a radio station because I just can't keep up with the number of. You say, well, that's crazy. Well, no, there's. I try and keep about a 20% surplus in leads. That way I can kind of, hey, you know what? This person, there's nothing I can do for them, or they just aren't interested in my help, so I can move on and I can go on to the next one. So that's. That's why I keep a 20% surplus. The other advantage to that is I'm not in any stage of my process In a desperate situation to get more people to meet with, and that's a dangerous place to be is where you're in such a desperate mode that every person you call, they hear that desperation. They hear that I have to meet with you. You're trying to work a dead deal, and the clients can pick that up. But the most important part of this is this. I've had agents really since the past six months that, hey, I'm going to sign up for the academy, I'm going to get coaching, I'm going to get mentorship, or I'm just waiting for this next deal to come through and then I'll sign up. And I would say probably 80% of that said that have not signed up. And then they wonder, they hit back into LinkedIn or whatever it is, and they say, you know what? I really, I'm staying the same, but I don't know what to do. And it's like, you're not moving forward, you're not progressing forward, you're staying the same where you are. And the reality comes down to if you can't afford a hundred or two hundred dollars a month for a coaching and mentorship program, then you're not being the example of what it is to protect people's money because you're not doing it for yourself. And I would say f majority of agents, I actually went and walked through their budget with them. They spend 400, $500 a month on eating out or unnecessary things to get their business going. I would rather take four or five months of eating out less and start a mentorship program. And then all sudden, a year later, you don't even need to worry about where your funds are going to come from. So the number one killer of dreams, I think, or progression is procrast destination or, hey, I'm getting ready to get ready to get ready. And we get frustrated when our clients do that, when they're like, hey, I'm just getting information. I'm getting ready to get ready to get ready. We all know what I'm talking about when it comes to these clients. But then I find agents doing the exact same thing. And why am I being this direct right now? Because people are calling me right now in the same situations they were six months ago, and they're not doing anything about it. They don't have a process still. They're not making the calls they need to make. They're not going through their leads. They have two, three, four times a week. When I was doing this, I was going through a leads b leads and C leads. I had a stack of C leads that would go two, three times a week. I'd go through them. Those are leads nobody else wanted. But what was I doing? I was trying to build a process and a momentum, a system. And now I can teach you that. So go to rragentsacademy.com I'll be able to get you in a process and a system.
