Dumb Industry Sayings

Short YouTube video (May 2018 uploader: Chad Owen) criticizing misleading advertising and anti-annuity claims by some brokers. Owen defends annuities—especially fixed indexed annuities with income riders—as suitable tools that provide guaranteed lifetime income, low ongoing fees relative to some fee-based products, and protection from market risk when appropriately disclosed and matched to client needs. The video encourages transparency and pride in the annuity industry while calling out brokers who denigrate annuities.

Hello guys, Chad Owen here with retirement realize I want to share some things I've seen recently and this has been out for a while, but got this guy out here that just advertises in all the papers and I'd rather die than sell an annuity. I'd rather go to hell than sell an annuity. Annuity is the last thing I'd ever do. It's so funny that somebody would even say something like that. And we all know this guy, you know, if you don't have 500,000 or more, he's not even gonna give you the time of day. You're not worth this time. You're not valuable enough. And I just laugh at stuff like that because that just gets me more and more deals when I see that type of advertising where brokers going, oh, you don't want an annuity, there's all those high fees. That's a variable annuity. Oh, you don't annuity, you lose control of your money when you die. That's an immediate annuity or an annuity, Annuitized annuity. It's like these guys just use stupid lines that come across as we're trying to rip someone off in our industry's like, are you kidding me? I disclose every little thing and my product, I make sure it's suitable, I make sure it's the right thing. But here's the fact, they love annuities. All brokers, Mr. Fisher, he loves annuities. Guess who his annuity is? It's the client. So here's what I tell the client. I go, hey, you know what an annuity is designed to pay income guaranteed for the rest of your life, right? Well, yeah, that's what it is. So you know when a broker or someone's trying to tell you, hey, I don't like annuities, Stay in stock market, stay in mutual funds, stay in my fee based product. All they're telling you is they love annuities. The difference is you're their annuity. So every single time you pay them their fees a year after year, whether the winning or losing, they get paid as long as you live. So sir, ma', am, what would you rather have? Would you rather have safety, security guaranteed income you can never outlive with no risk to the market and not pay the those stupid high fees where your broker gets paid year after year, whether you're winning or losing, which would you rather have? Do you want to be your broker's annuity or do you want to have an annuity that pays you for the rest of your life. I know I'm going to ruffle some feathers here, but here's the reality. Brokers got stop saying stupid stuff like that. I mean, the reality is all products to some degree, shape, way, form, whatever you want to call it, are not the best for everybody. But to sit there and make a stupid comment like, I'd rather go to hell than sell an annuity, that's just a stupid form of advertising. So I just want to show you guys, let's be smart about this. I never would sit there and go, I'd rather go to hell than sell stock. I'd rather go to hell than sell a mutual fund. I will say something stupid like that. And why people think that's okay just blows me away. Every product in every area has a niche for someone. And I just. Once again, we just talk about this. My clients get paid no matter what the market's doing, no matter how long they live. What better place could we be for our clients? It's somebody, they have no idea how they're gonna, how long they're gonna live for. They have no idea what the market's gonna do in a week, let alone 10 years, 15 years. So be proud of our products. Don't buy into this dumb advertising that's out there. Keep your head high. Make sure you're doing the right thing. Make sure you disclose everything. Make sure the product's suitable. But man, we have a great product. Just want to encourage my fellow annuity people, my fixed indexed annuities with income riders. And you know what, if you're variable guy and you hate this, hey, leave all the comments you want. But the reality is I'm not going to bash anybody. In my industry, the product is always based off of the client situation. That's how we pick it. And I can go to bed every single night knowing that I provided safety and security for my clients. I don't have crazy high fees. We have very minimal fees. We don't have risk to the the market. And no matter how long they live, they get income for the rest of their life. What better thing? So guys, be sure, like the video comment ring the bell so you get notified when new ones come out. But I appreciate your time. You have a great day. We'll talk to you later.
Sat.
