Protecting Money in a Downward Market

Chad Owen (the annuity sales coach) presents a short YouTube drivetime vlog advising financial agents how to approach clients when markets decline. He shares personal credibility (over $155M annuity production as a solo producer; past debt in 2007), explains a client conversation framework (ask if they are willing to risk loss and consider protecting gains rather than trying to recapture losses), and promotes materials available through his Retirement Realize Agents Academy. The tone is motivational and sales-coaching, aimed at insurance/annuity agents.
I'm Chad Owen, the annuity sales coach. In 2007, I was $150,000 in credit.
Card debt and now I've written over.
155 million in annuity production as a solo producer. I make my own calls, schedule my own appointments, do my own follow up and I'm actively in the field just like you. If you've hit a rough patch in your business, you're not alone. I've helped agents overcome and find success on a daily basis.
And now many write over a million.
Or more each month. Let me help you do the.
Buckle up. It's time to go to school with the annuity sales coach.
Hello everyone, Chad Owen, the annuity sales coach and owner of Retirement Realize Agents Academy. I have not done a live drive blog in quite a while, but I wanted to encourage you in today's market conditions. Here's something I'm doing that's really helping agents help people make the decision to move their money. And what do I tell them? You know, the market has been down 13% or it is down 13% from its high. And some people are saying, well man, I need to recapture those gains. I need to get back to where I was. Well, I have two things to say to that. Number one, how do you know what it's going to do tomorrow? How do you know what it's going to do the next day? We don't. So how do you know if you're actually going to be cat be able to capture those gains that you've lost Supposedly. But the other thing to look at is really when you look at at how much the market has gained over the past 10 years. Now granted a lot of that gain was because there was a huge loss. But there has been a point to where you kind of got back to even and you're still far ahead what you were 10 years ago. So at what point do you sit there and say, hey, you know what, I still gained a phenomenal amount of money. I still had a good return over the past 10 years and now I need to protect it. Now, once again, if you're not serious, license, you can't tell people to sell or to buy. You don't do that. You say, are you willing to take that risk? If you're not, then you need to protect it. They need to make the decision whether they want to get in or out of the market. And that's their. The thing that's so easy about this is I don't get emotionally attached to my money. Why would I get emotionally attached to their money. So they need to decide when is enough enough. Because the market's been going like a crazy up, craz down, huge swings. And what does that do to your mindset? What does that do to your thought process when you're constantly having to worry about what your money is going to be doing the next week, the next year, the next 10 years. We get to protect people's money. So two things. Once again, you're not taking a huge loss because you've actually had a huge gain. So why would you think I need to wait for it to get back to where it was? That just doesn't make sense why I asked that question. And if you're part of my retirement realized agents academy, you know, you get all my fact finders, all my handouts, all my documents. On one of my handouts is the fact finder and I say, are you willing to lose all of your money, some of your money, or none of your money? And most people look at me like I'm silly with that question. They go, duh, I don't want to lose any of my money. And I go, well, that's kind of funny. You have your money in IRAs and 401ks. You already told me they're all in stocks, bonds and mutual funds. They have high risk. So are you really telling that you saying that you don't want to lose any of your money when you have all of it at risk? Because according to what you're doing is different than what you are saying and they give this like aha moment where they're going, man, that makes a lot of sense. I do need to protect it. I do have a lot at risk. So I hope this helps you guys once again. Never sell out of fear. Sell from safety, security, guaranteed income you can never outlive with no risk to the market market. I hope this helps you. You have a great day and happy selling.
