Aren't you ready to stop running from love?

April Mason argues that running from love is a learned dysfunction rooted in past trauma and low self-worth. She distinguishes between your foundation (core values) and your functioning (relationship habits), showing how trauma warps the latter and makes you flee when real connection arrives. The fix: embrace vulnerability and choose to stay.

Good morning, darling. I know it's early and you're like, what is she doing? What is she doing up so early? What's going on? Good morning, good morning. If you're watching the replay, you can fast forward. You don't want to hear my, hear my rambling. For those of you that are new to me, my name is April Mason. I'm the number one femininity and dating preparation coach for the successful woman. I help you get out of your own way and take down from that strong independent woman, I don't need nobody Mantra. Okay, so I'm up early, you guys. You know, I know I've been in the car a lot lately because my life has been really on the go, go, go, which is great, but I have to always make sure I have that work-life balance to not only work but to have a personal life as well too. I'm in here jamming to that Stokely. This Art in Motion is one of my favorite. It's a real sexy song. He's talking about she art in motion. Good morning to everybody. Y'all know I can't see you. Because I'm driving. But, um, good morning to you. I'm up, you know, I get my day started, you know. I, you know, I actually, now that I've really taken the time to, you know, have my work-life balance, I run my workload. My workload run don't run me. And I want, I want you to take that as well. Even if you're working a corporate job and you're not an entrepreneur, have boundaries with that, you know. Okay, I'm gonna need you to stay on your side, all right? Um, so yeah, I have boundaries. Put put yourself first, you know. Sorry about that, I was going through a dead zone. But anywho, um, you take some time for you, make sure you put yourself, you know, first. I know we all have work to do, we have bills to pay, but at the end of the day, if you don't make time for you and if you don't sit back and put you first and put those around you that love you first, uh, well, I won't say put them first, I'll say cultivate the relationships with them, because if something happens to you, those are going to be the people that will be there for you. It's not going to be your job. It's not going to be your employees, not going to be the company you work for that'll be there for you. It'll be the ones that you are, you know, close with— your family, your friends. So make sure you don't neglect those relationships, okay? So let's get into what I wanted to talk, talk about this here morning on my drive. I got about, about almost an hour drive, but I won't talk to y'all for an hour. Stop running. Are you ready to stop running? Are you ready to stop running? And this is what I mean. So many Sometimes in life we say we want a thing, you know, we pray for a thing, we say we're ready for it, but as soon as it comes our way, we actually run from it. And then we do the cycle all over again. For instance, if you get to have a— you meet a great man in your life and everything is going fine, you run from him versus embracing him. If you get a new woman, a woman in your life, and she's not what you're accustomed to, she's actually better, instead of embracing that, you run. You get an opportunity to start a business or, you know, a new job, whatever the case may be, instead of embracing it because you think it's too good or you're not good enough for it, you actually run from it. Are you ready to stop running? Are you ready to stop running? It's time to stop running because the more you run, the more you will continue to stay the person that you claim you don't want to be. It comes a time you have to just say, you know what, I'm not gonna run. I'm going to embrace the emotional change that come with pain. A lot of us are not used to having good in our lives, so we often run from the good. And so instead of becoming the person that you need to be to accept good versus the person you've been who've been accepting the dysfunction, you turn around and you make it about everybody else. You make it everybody else's fault, you know. So there's nothing Nothing wrong with having good. It's just we've been programmed to accept the crumbs, the little bit, you know, because of our programming of what we've seen. And a good friend of mine, Joe— Joe and I were talking last night, yesterday, he— and we were, you know, we talked, we have man conversations. And so I was telling him something that, um, I observed, and I said, and I, and I, in my, my attempt to, you know, see both sides, I said, well, Joe, you know, well, I didn't always have, you know, the right, you know, foundation So people can change. He said, no, Mase, don't you ever say that. He said, you've got— he said, the reason why— he said, you have always— you have had the right foundation, you haven't had the right function. I was like, oh, wait a minute, wait a minute. I said, break this down for me, Joe. He said, see, the reason why you can't just get with anybody, it's not because you can't— he said, this is what he said, this is how he got me in my own stuff. He said, all right, if you say people can change their, you know, change their foundation Why is it that the men, some of the men that you've met, you just can't get with them? And I said, what do you mean? He said, like, you know, we all know you need a rare kind of guy. So since you need a rare kind of guy, why can't anyone that you meet with, you know, with the foundation that they have be the one? And I said, well, that's good. Okay, I get it. And I said, go a little bit deeper. He says, this is what I mean. You, it's not your function that's wrong because your function, I mean, your foundation is not what's wrong. You compare relationships to what your grandparents had. So that's what you're looking for. Not that he has to be your grandfather, but he has to have a lot of the traits that your grandfather had. He said, so that's your foundation, right? I said, yes. He said, so it's your function, the men that you've met that didn't function in that way, that caused you not to choose them, correct? I said, yeah. He said, so April, bottom line is, it's not your foundation. It's you had wrong functioning when you chose the wrong men based upon the fact that you dealt with the molestation, the domestic violence, the low self-esteem. So, but your foundation, he said, look at where you are now. He said, although you had a pretty good foundation, because of what happened to you, it caused you to function in a different way. But now that you've come full circle, what have you done? You go back. He said, I always hear you say, I want what my grandparents had. I want a man that has traditional values. You're big on the gender roles. You got back to that. So no matter how much, you know, your foundation— I mean, no matter how much you went through, your functioning was off, but in the end, you naturally gravitated towards your foundation of what you had. And he made so much sense. And I said all that to say, when we have had bad— we have had people to show us bad functioning, it doesn't necessarily mean our foundation was wrong. It just means that we don't function correctly. So now when you get a good person in your life, you run because what you've experienced, the functioning is off. Am I making sense? Let me know. Say, girl, you making sense, if I'm making sense. So after hearing my best friend, uh, male friend tell me, tell me that yesterday, because I was trying to, you know, I said, no, Joe, you know, because I was telling them some stuff that happened with somebody else that I know. And I was like, no, well, Joe, well, you know what, I made a conscious decision to change my foundation He said, "No, Mace, you didn't change your foundation." He said, "You changed your functioning." He said, "Because your foundation was that of your grandparents and what you saw. You just happen to have bad functioning and you chose the wrong man to actually marry. So it's your functioning that was off." He said, "You've done the work and spent thousands of dollars, hired coaches, and did everything you needed to do to get— to learn how to function better." He said, "So that's why you know exactly what it is that you need." in a man because your foundation was set, your ideal, you know, foundation was your grandparents. But now that you really studied and you really taken down from this, I need to be strong and superwoman and all of these other stuff, this bad bitch and boss chick, he said you've changed your functioning. So now that you've changed your functioning, you understand that when someone, that when that, your, that guy comes into your life, you'll be able to identify him without you using dysfunctional, you know, means. You're no longer dysfunctional. You no longer need, um, somebody to talk crazy to you. You no longer need— you no longer are attracted to, um, men that you can build versus men that don't really need you in that way. You, you're not— you don't want to attract those kind of people anymore, you know. So, you know, you're not seeking and, and chasing this dysfunction because you changed how you function. And when he said that yesterday, he got mad at me too, y'all. He's like, Mace, don't you ever say that again. Let me change. Let me tell you, it ain't the foundation because your grandparents— he said that that was your ideal relationship and you like the traditional roles and you want someone that has the same value system as you, but you didn't know how to attract that because your functioning was off. Is your functioning off? Are you a runner? Are you running from everything good in your life because your functioning is off? Oh Lord, Atlanta, why we have so much— we do a lot of sidebar. Atlanta is the only city I know to do so much road work. I've been here since 2003 and the road work that they do, honey, is all the time. Goodness. Anywho, it's time to stop running. Especially running from the good in your life because you're skeptical about it, because you're wondering, is it too good to be true? If you're wondering if you're deserving of it, if you're enough, that plays a big part. When you don't believe that you're enough, you will always function in the dysfunction. You will always settle for less. You will always take the crumbs. You will always let people mistreat you when you don't feel good enough. And you will always have a level of tolerance for BS that you should not, because you want to see the good in everybody because you don't value yourself enough to say, I don't have to deal with nobody's BS. I don't have to deal with the crumbs. Now there's a level of grace, but baby, grace run out. I don't care what you say, grace will run out. And what we've done is we even, you know, we've been so— it's good to forgive, but we've overdone it in the area of letting, you know, keep forgiving folks and letting them just do whatever they want to do to us. You forgive, but you move the crap on. You know, no, people will not be perfect, and you're not looking for them to be perfect. But what you are looking for is someone to treat you the way that you deserve to be treated. But if you are not displaying that, if you're still operating from dysfunction, can you really be mad with what they're giving you? Because you're giving it to yourself. Can you really be mad? Okay, what's my exit? My exit? Exit. Okay, 27. So are you, are you a runner? Are you afraid of good? Are you afraid of, you know, the fact— think about this. What if you could embrace the concept, the fact, just let's call it the fact because I believe it's a fact. If you can embrace the fact that there is an amazing man who's waiting for you to start learning how to stop running, because he was designed specifically for you. What you need in your life, he was made for that. But you can never run into him because you keep running. You can never attract him. You always say there are no great men out there because you're a runner, because you're skeptical. So when you have that energy around you of, I'm skeptical, there are no good men around, you're never going to be in a position to see those those, because you know, you're not— you're— what you attract is not going to override what you think or how you feel. What you feel and what you think is, and what you believe is what it's going to be. So if you believe that, don't expect, you know, God, the universe, whatever you want to call it, to override what you believe to try to prove a point to you that there is somebody good out there for you, that there is someone amazing for you. Know what you see and feel is what you get, because that's what you're choosing to see and feel and So can you be mad at that? It takes courage to stop running. It takes a coward to continue to run. Only cowards run. Only cowards don't express how they feel. Only cowards avoid confrontation. Only cowards disappear. Only cowards run. You know, if you don't— if you're a coward, if you see a job that you know you're qualified for but you're afraid of it, so you run from it because you don't, you don't have that confidence or self-esteem to apply for it, you're a coward. If you have— there's a good woman in your life and, and you know, you're not really used to good, you normally like the chicks that, that are, you know, about that life, that, that are, you know, give you problems and drama, and you run from a good woman, you're a coward. If you run from an amazing man, you are a coward. Only cowards run. If you constantly keep running from opportunities because you're questioning yourself, I know, I don't know if I'm gonna do that, you know, it's gonna require too much for me, I don't know, you are a coward. Only cowards run. Cowards run from their feelings, cowards run from their emotions, and cowards are actually selfish individuals. Because what they're doing is they only think about themselves and not think about the fact of— if you are a good man or a good woman, you have a lot of amazing qualities to offer someone, but you're being a coward by not stop standing still and say, I'm going to stop running. When are you gonna do that? When you gonna do that. You are a coward, and I can never respect a coward. Because even if it doesn't feel good, you have to stop running eventually. Even if you don't like the fact that it's taking you out of your comfort zone, you have to stop running eventually. Because the very same thing that you're doing, you wouldn't want someone to be a coward with you. So is it possible— just think about it— is it possible that you could be holding up the very things that you say you want? Because as soon as you get close to it, you find something wrong with it, you run from it, you talk yourself out of it, you don't believe you're enough and deserve it. So you constantly keep going through the honeymoon stages of it. I was talking to, uh, my ex and I are pretty, you know, we're still pretty cool. And so he and I were talking, um, maybe almost a month ago, and we— I was laughing at him. I said, you know what? I said, your problem is you like the honeymoon stage. He's, April, I think you're right. I said, because every woman that you've dated out after we've broken up, that's been what, 4 years ago? Soon as it gets to the 6-month mark, you find something wrong with her, or you get to running, or you back up, or you just kind of start to, you know, not be as interested. He said, you think that's what it is? I said, you sound like you like the honeymoon stage, the newness, but as soon as having to show vulnerability and stop running and deal what comes with a real relationship, not the I can buy you gifts, I can take you on trips, I can take you shopping, that all that, that's you, you know, you do all of those things. I'm gonna show you my nice car, you know, I'mma show you, you know, you gonna show up at the airport, don't know where you're going until you get your boarding pass. We like that stuff, I said. But when it comes to you being vulnerable and really giving yourself to a woman, to the place at the stage where the honeymoon has worn off, the newness has worn off, you, you back away, I said. You run. And he said, I think that's what I do. And I said, and what you do is you make it like like, oh well, it's because, you know, I went through a traumatic marriage. But I'm like, so when do you stop running and deal with the inner issues? I said, because, you know, you make a great husband for somebody if you stop running. And I said, and you get the women and they start loving you and being with you and all this stuff, doing what women do. I said, because you're doing the things that make us want to like you, but then you run at the sight of vulnerability. You run at the sight of, wow, I got to deal with the uncomfortableness of actually being in a relationship. He said, you think you know me? I said, I know you better than your mama. I said, so I want to see you get married. I said, I want to see you, you know, be in a healthy relationship. You know, it's time out for running. And again, this is kind of conversations my ex and I, you know, have. Like I said, there is no possibility of us getting back together, but we We've learned things from each other in our previous relationship. So we talk every blue moon, and that blue moon just happened to be last, last month. So it becomes, you know, a place, you know, with you where you have to say, I'm tired of running, I'm tired of starting over. That's what it is when you constantly run. All you end up doing is constantly— are you in a perpetual state of start over? Who wants to be in in a constant state of start over. You get close and then it's like you find something wrong. I gotta start over because I'm constantly searching for that high, that newness. But what's going on is there you making it to where it'll be something wrong with everyone that you get with because the newness is going to run out eventually, you know. It's going to run out and you're gonna have to put in work to be in a real relationship, a meaningful, fulfilling relationship. There's just something required of you. You're going to have to eventually stop running. Can you flirt with me? Hey, he flirting with me, y'all. No, I'm not pulling over. No, bye. Um, anywho, you have to stop running or you're going to always be at the beginning. You're going to always be starting. Every— the more you run the more you're gonna always have to start over. So it's gonna just say, you know what, when it comes to relationships, and this is just my opinion, once you find somebody that meets your core needs, not a perfect person, but a person that meets your core needs, you're gonna have to just stop and say, this is the relationship that I'm going to cultivate and make the most fulfilling relationship. I am responsible for my happiness, because if I make them responsible for my happiness, I have to make them responsible for my pain. So this person meets my core needs. Yeah, he can be a butthole sometimes. Yeah, She can be a little anal too, but at the end of the day, this person meets my core needs. I— when I'm in her presence, I feel like a man. I feel like being a better man. She inspires me to be better. She might not do it always in the way that I want her to do it, and she might have these little quirks about her, but at the end of the day, everything is said and done, she meets my core needs. I'm choosing to stick with her. I'm choosing not to always need to find a variety. If I need variety, I'm gonna tell her to change her hair. If I need to feel like I'm with multiple women, I'm gonna say, baby, come on, let's role play. I love role playing. Holla at you at the mall like you don't know me, you know. Same thing with a man. If he's meeting your core needs, make a choice to stop running and stop there, period. I'm choosing to stop. I'm choosing to say this person meets my core needs. I like how I feel when I'm around him. He inspires me. He makes me want to be a better woman. I feel safe. I feel loved. I feel adored. I feel protected and provided for. Yes, he might think he know every doggone thing. Yes, everything. You know, he might be checking me, looking like, babe, you gonna wear that? Because you— he just want me to look my best. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. He might, like I said, think that he is God's gift, and— but in your presence is where he wants to be. Stay your behind right there if he's meeting your core needs, period. Stop freaking running. Thank you guys so much for sharing this video. Somebody needs to hear this. Stop running. The reason why we can't have successful relationships is because we're so freaking superficial that we, we, we run when a person doesn't meet our superficial needs, but we're not taking the time to see if they meet our core needs. What's your core needs? What do you really need in a woman? A lot of men say they're simple, and you can be a very simple man, but when you run across a woman that's able to meet your simple needs and you run from her, what— you can't— you're not that simple. There's some complexities to you that's causing you to on. Find out what those are, because men are very simple. And you know, all I need is, you know, feed me, fuck me, and give me some peace. You know, I've heard that. But when a woman is doing that and you still find something wrong with her because she's actually giving you the peace that you never had, you run from her. You can't do that, because what'll happen is, until you stand up and be that man that says, I really don't want dysfunction, I'm gonna be with this peaceful, peaceful woman. Because you've been going through years of dealing with the combative, years of going through the boss chicks, bad bitches, I don't need you, I can provide for myself. And even your mother might have been that woman that had— was very combative, loudmouth, didn't, didn't have wisdom on when to speak and when not to. You know, you've had women that are very argumentative with you, that feel like, you know, they got to have the last word all the doggone time. When you meet a woman that's not like that, because that's what you truly desire, you don't know how to handle her because you have experienced her. I'm saying stop and experience her. Am I making sense? Am I preaching this morning? Stop and experience her, okay? Stop and experience her, because that's what you say out your mouth that you want, but because you've never experienced it, you really don't know how to handle it. And that was one of my things I got to say, you guys. I got discouraged as I teach my women, um, that I coach, whether it's the 5,700 women in our group, in our community, or, you know, my Teach Me How to Date VIP Academy. One thing that discouraged me was I'm teaching so many women, especially women of color, who have been, have been made to be taught to be strong and independent, about being more of a softer, gentler, feminine woman. But what's happening is a lot of our men have not experienced that woman. So when you come across her, you're already programmed to, to deal with the combative, loud mouth, extremely opinionated, got to tell it, I want to prove that I can compete with you and I'm as smart as you and all those things. You're programmed to deal with that woman. So what you end up doing is, as I'm teaching women, you know, and I'm watching them transform, thousands of women transform, and they're saying, you know what, Miss April, I am, you know, I do want to be that softer, gentler woman. I do want to win the battle, I mean, um, win the war instead of just winning the battle because I, you know, I'm all in my emotions, I wear my emotions on my sleeve. And when you get, you know, when I'm teaching them this, they're coming coming across men that have never dealt with that but say they want that. But what's going on is the man has never stopped and learned how to deal with the kind of woman that he says he wants. Hmm, I didn't say something right there. So you have to stop in order to start becoming a better man to where you don't need those psychological dramas and traumas and issues. Because more and more women are waking up saying, I don't want to be that woman that I've been, that we programmed you to believe that you, you know, you wanted. We're at fault for a lot of that. So now both sides has to play their part, play their position. Both parts has to stop running. Stop running from the great woman that you say you want, and ladies, stop running from the great man you say you want. But the only way to do that is to be intentional and be aware, because I've dealt with men that say they wanted my kind of woman but in turn would leave and go get the woman full of drama. The drama that they say they didn't want. And they really didn't want it. And I can honestly say I don't believe they wanted it, but they had not done the work and stopped running in order to experience a great woman. It became too uncomfortable. It became she too good to be true. So you really not gonna cuss me out because I did this? No, I'm not gonna cuss you out. I'm not going to tolerate your foolishness, but I'm not going to cuss you out either. Can I cuss you out? Hell yeah, but I'm not gonna do it because I'm no longer that woman. I've learned how to use my words. I've learned how to use my silence. I've learned how to use wisdom when I speak to you. I've learned how to get my point across without having to read you. I've learned to show you how I feel and speak how I feel without having to raise my voice at all. Now, had I been able to do that in the past? No. But now when a man who's used to a woman responding to him that way, he runs from you because he hasn't stopped to really say, I don't want to embrace the dysfunction anymore, so I'm going to run from her, versus realize that's what it is that I really am saying that I want. So I need to really stop. Same thing with the ladies. I've coached women that if a man didn't hit her, he didn't feel like— she didn't feel like he loved her. That's dysfunction. So as soon as a man did not put his hands on her, she felt the need to try to create some drama by provoking him, trying to get a rise out of it versus just accepting he's just a good dude. Stop running because you're only running in a circle. You're like a hamster on a wheel, just going and going and going, and you constantly keep starting things, starting relationships, potential relationships, but as soon as the newness run out, you run in because you haven't learned how to stop running and deal with your your dysfunction. Deal with your functioning, um, issues, how you function. Am I telling the truth, y'all? Am I in somebody's business this morning? Okay, hold on, where my exit? Exit. Oh, it's coming up. Um, am I in your business? Because I want to see, and I just believe— and call me crazy— I just believe that there's somebody for everybody who desires to be in a healthy relationship. I believe that The moment that you start letting go of your past situations, divorces that you've gone through, hurt and pain. You know, they say, well, a man only love one time. Once he give his heart, he don't give it again. That's only because he's choosing not to do that. You don't have to choose that. That's a choice. At this stage in the game, it's stop running. Realize what you really need. You don't really want the dysfunction. You don't really want chicks that's gonna be fighting over you and checking your phones and all that because you're not giving her a reason to do so. And just say, you know what? I'm going to embrace. I'm gonna sit back and I'm gonna hold on to my seat like I'm on a roller coaster, and I'm gonna accept all of this good is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna feel it. I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna question it. I'm going to feel it. I'm gonna hold on as tight as I can to sit down and strap myself in the seat and say, I'm going to hold on to this good. I'm okay with being in good. I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay. I'm not gonna create no drama. I ain't gonna start no ish with nobody. I'm not gonna try to make them jealous or provoke them because that's what I'm accustomed to. And I'mma stop running and I'mma embrace all of this good. And I'mma just hold on to it even if it makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm going to sit here and accept this good until it becomes my normal. Okay, that was what— that's what I got in meditation this morning that I wanted to share with you. I know you guys are wondering, sidebar, Miss April, why haven't you done Relationship Thursday? Relationship Thursday is on pause right right now because I'll be back soon, but I'm in a different space. So I've been doing Relationship Thursday for 2 years straight now, and I'm just in a different space. And because of that, I have to go with where I am. I have to go with where I am and where my spirit leads me. So I know I've been coming to you guys sometimes every day in the morning because that's where I'm getting my motivation and my— what do you call it— my messages. To share with you and I have to share with you when I get them. I can't share them the next day because they don't have their same potency when I share them later on. So embrace the good but change your functionality because you're running good men and women away. A lot of people could be in relationship and I know it because I've done it in the past too. Sometimes I wonder, hey man, hey bro, because your functionality was off, because you have ran away, you know, potential, uh, your potentials. And there's a lot of potentials out there. I don't believe in one soulmate. I don't believe in that. I believe in, um, there's multiple people that can meet your core needs, that can be your, your soulmate if you just, you just choose to connect with them. Because if you have a spouse and they die and you say that was your soulmate and you remarried, was that really your only soulmate? Those are things that I kind of look at. Okay, what? Okay, one and a half now. Okay. I'm out here in Alpharetta. I think it's Alpharetta. Anywho, stop running. Make a choice. Look at yourself in the mirror today and say, I'm going to stop running. Because if you want a meaningful relationship, you're gonna have to stop running and have to stop being a skeptic. I know, Miss April, but these men— yeah, but these men are good too. But these women are good too. Yeah, but most women don't want this. How the hell you know? You haven't dealt with most women. How the hell you know what most men want if you haven't dealt with most men? Say the men that you've attracted because of how you function may not want those things or may not be able to appreciate that because you're a runner and you can't appreciate them either. Okay, y'all like my shirt? It says femininity on it. If you don't have my— if you don't have your femininity shirt, make sure you go. It says femininity, the quality of being female, and, and quality of being female and womanliness. You can go to feminineclothingsociety.com and get your shirt. I'm rocking my own brand today. Um, and so I wanted to share that with you on my ride. Thank y'all for joining me on this long ride. I have to say, I have 6 minutes to go. But I really, really believe that there's somebody out there for you. I believe that for you. I'm looking at the women in my Teach Me How to Date VIP Academy. One has got engaged. One's man just asked her her ring size. The other one, she says, "Miss April, I'm sending you an invitation to the wedding." And they're really learning as women how to lean back and how to not get back to the natural order of things. I don't care what society tells tells you the way we were genetically made as male and female. There's certain things, certain traits, certain characteristics that we just come with. And I tell people all the time, I don't profess to be an expert, although I can teach you how to date. I don't teach people how to get married. I teach them getting back to the art of dating. I do believe my— what I've done and why I'm able to help so many people people is because I've embraced and accepted the natural dynamic between men and women. That's it. I don't try to change it. I don't try to make it what different. Now, how we function inside of that is, you know, determines quite a bit. But at the end of the day, I just learned how to accept it and stop trying to push against it because society teaches us to push I'm not against it, but I just believe that there's somebody out there for everybody, including myself. And it's just we have to learn how to function better because your Mr. Right or Miss Right could be in front of your face, but because your functioning is off, you can't even identify them because you think they're too good to be true, or you're waiting for the ball to drop. You're waiting on, you know, things to fall apart. So if they're not falling apart fast enough, is enough for you, you throw that monkey wrench in there and you create the drama. Stop running from what you say you want the most. If a wonderful partner is what you say you want, stop running. Oh, massage! I need a massage today. I slept wrong, y'all. I woke up, I was texting my little— I was texting my little friend last night and he said, well, are you okay? I said, no, honey, I actually— I fell asleep in the wrong position in my back. Or he said— he said I needed a strong massage will fix that. That what he has said. So I will see it. So anywho, stop running, y'all. Stop running. You know, I told myself I was ready to stop running. I'm ready to be caught. You know, there's nothing wrong with settling. Nothing wrong with settling. Settling down is what I mean. Nothing wrong with that. So I wanted to share that with you guys this morning, you ladies and gents, uh, this morning, because it's time to stop running. It's time to get somebody on your level. I'm a sucker for your body. You want somebody on your level. You don't want a runner, and you don't want nobody else to be a runner. So it's time to stop running. You want somebody on the same level. You better sing that Stokely. Love you guys, have a wonderful day. And if you have not gotten your tickets to the Will the Asset Woman Please Rise, an intimate evening with April Mason going down July 21st, make sure you go get your tickets. I want to see you here in Atlanta. I will not be doing a tour this year, did that last year. Had an amazing time in New York, Atlanta, uh, DC, Houston, L.A., New York. I had a wonderful time with all you guys, but I will not be doing a tour this year. But I will be helping you get your entire life together, ladies, to stop settling for the crumbs and putting yourself in a position to use your femininity to create the entire life that you, that you want. It's time for— it's time out for just, just settling for less or taking what life has given you. It's okay to finally set settle down, but you don't settle. You settle down after you've been a wise woman and you used your femininity to attract the life that you want. It's time out for just taking what life gives you and you being okay with it, and all you do is complain about it. You don't complain, baby. You change it. You go get what you want. It's time to learn how to be the woman that gets her money. Our asset woman has her money together. That's what we do, you know. But I asked that woman does not use her finances and her material things to dictate her value. She's a resourceful woman. So when she with a man and all of a sudden Daddy done lost everything and he invested in some things, he made some wrong investments, she can say, baby, we ain't broke. And he like, what you mean? I just, you know, we broke, babe. No, baby, we ain't broke. Mama got this. Did you think that I was out here doing not running my businesses and not stashing some money anyway. We have to have each other's back, okay? That's what an asset woman does. An asset woman is a woman who takes her health, you know, and she, she's about fitness because she understands that the only way that she can be that organized woman and a woman that's a part of— that gives back to the community and a woman that, um, and is, uh, everything she needs to be to her man and her kids, she has to be fit. So you got to make a commitment to yourself before you start trying to make a commitment to a man anyway. Because the commitment that you make to yourself will determine the type of commitment he will make to you. Because why? You've set the tone, your value for who you are. So he can— only thing he got to do is come in and, and rise to the occasion because the bar has— and the standard has always already been set with you. So make sure you join me and, um, in Atlanta on the 21st. We're gonna talk about that, okay? I can't see, I'm at the light, I can't see. Hold on, my glass is not dirt— my glass is dirty. I need some new glasses, y'all. And also, sidebar, this ain't got nothing to do with none of this, but ladies, I need your help. I am trying to find a primer or something to put on my face because I have extremely oily skin that when I put my makeup on, the oil don't just seep all the way through like that. So if you know of a primer or something— okay, is this the right spot? Hold on, I think so. Yeah, I think I'm in the right place. I think I'm in the right place. If you know of a primer or something like that, let a sister know. Let us just— let us just know, because I am having the hardest time— I think I'm in the right place. Hold on. I'm having the hardest time with my primer. Well, maybe I'm not. Maybe it's the next one. So I just— I'm just having this oily skin, y'all. So I need, I need some help, um, you know, with that. Okay, so love you guys. Mary Kay has one. I've tried Mary Kay and it didn't work. Um, I've tried a couple of different ones, and I, you know, I spend money on my, my facials, care and stuff. Also, if you're in an Atlanta area, I need an esthetician. I want to start doing some, some facial stuff. I need to make a U-turn, some, you know, getting my face, because, you know, I'll be 43 next month, and I want to make sure that my skin is constantly glow, you know, because, you know, these 28 to 38-year-old youngins be on you, girl, because they think I'm about for themselves, myself. So I want to be able to, uh, you know, keep that going. So if you're in the Atlanta area, I need some recommendations on, you know, skincare, you know, get— go get a microdermabrasion and all of that good stuff. I normally do use natural products, so I prefer someone that does that. But, um, I'm open if you— I'm also looking for a new trainer, you know, I'm I've lost the weight, I just need some accountability. Because sometimes you have to hire folks for accountability. If I— you know, you need somebody to yell at you to get you going, then that's just what you need to do. Okay, so that's where— that's where I'm at right now. Okay, I need to go around that way. Okay, I see I'm at the right spot. Um, okay, yeah, I'm at the right spot. So yeah, that's all I have for you guys today. That's a little— oh, wait a second. Second. Lord have mercy, I done ran up on a thrift store just making a U-turn. Okay, I love thrift stores. We gonna have to have this conversation over in, uh, I'm an Asset Women's Network, some girl talk. I love a good thrift store because I find a lot of computer softwares and some amazing books. And I done ran up on an NFCC thrift store that ain't even open yet. But, uh, yes, I'm gonna have to go and buy there. And I just told Tanya yesterday I Needed a couple bar-to-stool tables. I'm gonna see if I can— well, I can't put them in the car because I don't have my trip. I have my truck today, I can do that. But they got some tables out here, y'all. Get out, honey, and go live your life, baby. Stop running, baby. Enjoy yourself. Understand that there's somebody amazing out there for you. There's a good man, a good man, and a good woman out there for you. You just have to stop running and embrace the goodness. Bye, y'all. See y'all later.
