Hey everybody, this is April Mason with your asset tip of the day. I'm sitting here having dinner and I got a call from a friend of mine that said she was kind of lonely and she was thinking about calling some people from her past, but thank God they were not in her phone. And you know, the holidays are coming and, and you know, people get lonely. So here's my advice: delete all emails, phone numbers, addresses, and everything from all exes or people you've gone out with that you have no interest in. Because what'll happen is, with the holidays coming— we're in October getting ready to go into the holiday season— you get kind of lonely and you want to be booed up and, and all of that kind of thing, and your emotions are running wild. But people are exes for a reason. You have to always remember that. So when you understand that people are exes for a reason all you're going to do if you engage and pick up that phone and call them is you're going to reignite something that really isn't healthy. You want to feel the emotions of, you know, it's holiday time and, you know, it's White Christmas and, you know, what's the other one, here comes Santa Claus and then all of the Christmas specials and all of that good stuff and the fireplace and the mistletoe and New Year's Eve and all of that stuff. But when that's all over, you're gonna remember. I promise you, they're gonna make you remember why they are an ex. So during the holiday time, um, after reading some statistics some years ago, the holiday time is the highest, uh, time for, uh, depression, uh, and suicide because people don't like to be alone. I promise you, there is somebody out there for you. But if you occupy that space with somebody that is not right for you, you're going to prolong your Mr. or Mrs. Right. So one of the things that I would give you to do is get involved in the community. You know, get involved with, what do you call it, see my mind is, I was watching TV, see, see, see, get involved with charity organizations, charity work. Give back, give back, give back, give back, give back. Because once you get involved, that void of feeling lonely will start to be filled. Of course, you know, people that say, you know, loneliness, you know, that's just you, you just ain't got nothing else to do. No, we all want somebody to be booed up with and be hugged up with, so that's normal. That makes you normal. However, you're not desperate and thirsty to just be with anybody. So those are people that you've gone out with in your past, those, um, that you've dated, or your exes, or whatever. Delete, delete, delete. Do not pick up the phone because you will be rekindling something that you really don't want just for the sake of having somebody around. Okay, so understand that there's somebody for you and he's fabulous. He's all that you ever wanted in a man, and she's just fabulous and everything you ever wanted in a woman. She has it, but you don't want to block that. By putting somebody in her place on a temporary basis. No rebounds, people. Say it with me: no rebounds. We're not rebounding. You're going to move forward and you are going to get involved, get with friends. No depression. Take yourself out, go out and meet new people, um, and, and do things that make you happy. I'm— I understand how you feel. I'm a relationship kind of girl, so I've always been the type that I didn't— I enjoyed hanging, you know, with my man. I was always her ever since I was younger. I've always been— my man and I were always best friends. So I understand when you don't want to hang out with the girls and do all of this stuff because you are more, you know, if you're more like me, you are more, um, a marriage, monogamous, you know, relationship type of person. So I get it, trust me, I get it. We're in the same boat. I'm going through the holiday season, you know, as well as a single woman. Not for long, but I get exactly where you are. So I'm not talking to you from a place of, um, girl, I got, I got, I got, you know, my boy is sitting over here. I got it, trust me. I'm— I got it. I understand. I've been there before. So get out there, get involved in community work, get involved, um, whether it's church, whether it's a nonprofit, go to fundraisers, have a good time. And I promise I promise, as long as that space is not filled with someone that does not belong to be— that does not belong in that space, you're going to meet someone. I promise you. But you got to be open. No depression, no anxiety, no negative thinking, no closing yourself off to love, but positioning yourself, mind, heart, and spirit and be okay and be honest with saying, "Yes, I want a husband." "Yes, I want a wife." Two is better than one. And if that's what your desire is, God got that for you. You just gotta go out there and get it. It's already waiting and available to you. You just gotta position yourself to get it. And being at home depressed, eating ice cream, is not gonna do it for you. So, I'm April Mason and that's your asset tip of the day. Bye.
