In this short monologue, April Mason delivers a relationship‑advice “asset tip of the day” aimed at men. She argues that the single most effective way to get a woman to cooperate or feel satisfied in a relationship is to genuinely acknowledge and cater to her emotions. Mason stresses that men should listen, validate, and respect a partner’s feelings even if they don’t fully agree, noting that this de‑escalates conflict and builds intimacy. She warns against assuming that material gifts or generic gestures meet a woman’s needs, urging men to discover each partner’s specific love language (via the Love Language Test) and to ask directly what the partner needs. Practical examples—such as offering a kiss while she dishes, asking about her day, and showing attentive, respectful behavior—illustrate how emotional validation translates into tangible relationship benefits. The overall message is that emotional empathy, not dominance or material provision, is the key to a healthier, more responsive partnership.

Hey everyone, it's April Mason here with your asset tip of the day, and this one is for the fellas. Ladies, I'll take donations and offerings after this one because I think you're gonna like this one. The number one thing that will get your woman to do whatever it is that you need her to do is to cater to her emotions, cater to her feelings. Now there is a disclaimer here. As long as she is a reasonable woman and she's not a loony, you know, and she's not out there like that. I'm talking about good women that are out there and you know you have you a good woman. The thing to do to get her to maybe bring a little bit of the nagging down or to get her to do whatever you want her to do, especially your husbands out there, you saying, oh, she don't give me no sex no more and all of this stuff. Cater to her feelings. I promise you, as a woman myself, I could be dead wrong, but the fact that you said in our argument, you know, babe, I totally understand why you would feel that way. I get it. I hear you totally. However, in my opinion, I think this is the best way that we need to do it. The fact that you acknowledged my feelings, you acknowledge my emotions, and, and, and, and you you took my point of view into consideration, or, you know, even understood it to a degree. That right there calms the whole situation down. A lot of times we just want to be heard. We want to know that you're just not saying, oh, that's just so stupid, oh, I'm not doing this, I don't even see how you could be tripping off of that. You might not understand why she's tripping off of that, but the fact is she's tripping off of that. So your job is to at least acknowledge her feelings in it. You don't necessarily always have to agree, but just acknowledge her feelings, and that's a form of respect. You can never tell a person, I don't understand how you feel that way. You're not them. Another thing in relationships that I've learned is what you deem that you gave to a person is not necessarily what they mean, what they needed. For instance, fellas, if you ever had an argument with your girl, he's, I don't know what you want. I pay the bills, I take you here, I buy you this, I buy you that, I da da da da da da. All of that. Those are things— those things are fine, but my question to you is, have you found out exactly what she needed? I, I encourage everybody to take the Love Language Test, and, and I've taken it before, and I know my top love language is words, words, words, words, because I'm a words girl. Uh, but take the Love Language Test if you're in a relationship to find out what your partner's love language is so you can cater to that. Stop trying to give people stuff that is not, you know, working for them. Every relationship is different, so you can't go into a new situation trying to use old stuff, especially if those are things that don't work for that particular person in your life. So we— a lot of times we make mistakes trying to give people all of this stuff that— because that's the only thing and way we know how to do it, but we never ask them, baby, What do you need from me? What do you want from me? How could I better serve you? Because remember, we're here to be of service. Of course we want to, you know, we want people to treat us right. But if you're in a relationship and you're with someone that wants to be in the relationship and that wants to work it out with you, start asking them questions about what their core needs are. And especially fellas, Once you start tapping into that, I promise you, your wife will come home— or no, you will come home and she be in there cooking with the, the, with the little nurse's outfit on. And, and all you got to do is just go behind her while she washing the dishes, put your hands on her hip and give her a kiss right there. Hey baby, how you doing? How was your day? The world is open to you. I'm just saying, that's how us women work. So someone has to wave the white flag. And fellas, Sometimes it has to be you. We, we can wave the white flag sometimes as well too. But in this situation that I'm talking about, it's good to be able to deal with her feelings and her emotions and acknowledge them, even if you don't agree with the reason why she feels the way she does. Just acknowledge them. I promise it will bring so much drama down in your relationship and in uh, in your marriage. Acknowledge our feelings. Let us be a girl. If we want to pout a little bit, let us pout a little bit. But then at the end of the day, it'll be worth it to you, and it'll all be in your favor because now she cooking your favorite food. My boo, he listened to me. You know, my man, he, you know, he paid attention to what I had to say. That's all we really want is for you to pay attention to our needs. And our feelings and acknowledge them even if you don't agree. So that's your asset tip for the day. This is April Mason, and I'm out.
