Hey darlings, let's chat for a quick second. Listen, do you think it's time to redefine your life? To redefine what you want? Redefine who you are, what you stand for, what your why is in life? Why do you do the things that you do? A lot of times we don't get what we want out of life because we're trying to go into a new season with the same stuff. Redefine who you are and what you want. Okay, here's a transparent moment for me. I'm redefining my life at this point because this is the first time I'm getting ready to live on my own as an adult. Well, my very first apartment, I was 18 years old, but I moved in and I had a kid with me. So this will be the first time living on my own at 41 years old. When you have adult children and you realize they don't need you in the same manner that they needed you before, and all your life has been around them, it could be a little scary. Then I realized, April, the reason why it's scary and challenging is because your why in life has changed. Everything you've done was for them. I was grinding it out and making things happen because I had 3 mouths to feed. So now that I don't have that like that anymore, it became a little— a few weeks ago I had a breakdown about that. If you guys are on my Facebook page, you saw it because I went live so I could share that moment with you guys. However, after the holiday weekend and all my children came together, flew in, and I realized, April, they not thinking about you, girl, stop. So now I'm on this journey to redefine me, who I am, what I want, Where even do I want to live? Because I don't have to do things the way I used to. I no longer have to live in neighborhoods that has the best schools. I no longer have PTA meetings, soccer, football, clarinet, band, drum practice. Don't— it's all about me. Now, one of the challenging things has been finding an apartment. Like I said, this will be my first time living on my own as an adult. All of my homes have been between 4 and 8 bedrooms because we needed the space. Well, it's just me now. It feels a little weird. Although it feels a little weird, I gotta say I'm excited because I've even redefined the layout of my business. I can do what I do anywhere. All I need is my laptop, my cell phone, and my iPad, and I am good. So I could travel and go wherever I want whenever I want. Redefining your life has its benefits. My question to you today is, what's your why? And has your why changed? I got a little nervous because my why was my kids, and I was wondering, April, will you still have that same grind that you have for them for yourself? After I looked at everything, I said, of course I will, because I actually redefine what it is that I want to do and how I want to do it. So why wouldn't I? I know it can be challenging entering into new seasons in your life, but guess what? You're the artist, your life is the canvas, and you can design it any way you choose. Get excited because this next place you're going into is going to be nothing like before. It's going to be better. You just got to create it.
