Join Me Behind the Scenes of MY NEW PROJECT

In this informal behind‑the‑scenes livestream, host April Mason, assisted by technical coach Kantis Simmons and joined by her cousin Marcus Mason, walks viewers through testing a new podcast studio setup while announcing several upcoming initiatives. April reveals that she is launching a men‑focused call‑in radio show called "The Feminine Ear" (first episode October 1, Tuesdays at 9 PM EST) where only men can call in to ask her relationship and life‑coaching questions. She promotes her ongoing "Art of…" webinar series, specifically the upcoming Art of Flirting webinar on September 10 at 7 PM EST, and references previous Art of Vetting and Art of Feminine Language sessions. Personal life updates include her recent move to Ohio, ownership of a restaurant/Christmas café, undergoing perimenopause and a first testosterone shot, and using hormone‑replacement therapy. Technical details of the studio—camera placement, backdrop, button‑press operation, and the role of Kajabi coach Kanti—are demonstrated. Marcus Mason appears as a live guest, discussing his new album "Resounding Praise," his upcoming musical "Experiencing the Dream: MLK the Musical," and a December 20 show, providing insight into his creative timeline. Throughout the stream, April and Kanti engage the audience, asking viewers to type "April" in the chat, offering virtual flowers, and encouraging community support. The livestream serves both as a tech test and a promotional platform for April’s new male‑focused show, her webinar series, and her broader personal brand.

Hey y'all, hello! What am I looking at? What am I— This move this? Uh-huh. Okay. I am. I'm click, tap and hold it. I am. Look. There we go. Hey, everybody. Okay, so the camera's right here. So that means we're going to end up putting the monitor in the middle so I don't be looking to the side. Hey girl, hey! Listen, Linda, listens. Where's my girls and my fellas? How y'all doing? So as you see, I've been working on some things. Yeah, I know. First of all, first of all, let me tell my YouTube folks, you know, I apologize for being gone for a while. I've been gone from YouTube for a while. I started on YouTube, but I've been gone for a while. Um, but I had to take some me time. You know, I've been playing around on Instagram. I really haven't been on Facebook. And it's like, how are you not on Facebook and you got over half a million followers over there? I need to, you know, figure this thing out. But what ended up happening, y'all, is I took a break to really do me. Instagram was just easy for me to lay in my bed and, you know, it didn't require a lot of technical stuff for me. But I had to figure out what it is that I wanted to do at this stage in my life. Can you get my little blot thing? The skin is, is a little dewy. It's a little glowy, darling. Look, you like my set? So we got to put the TV out. We're testing everything. My business coach flew in town. It's like this little square. It's like, it looked like a potato chip. It's triangle. And a little— look at my little black bag. Get, get the little— yes, it should be one in there. Thank you. The fellas is trying to find the look. Y'all know the little thingamajigum. It's a blotter, darling. So I was trying to figure out what it is that I wanted to do at this stage. You know, I've helped the women for years, you know, and I love my ladies. And one of the things that I noticed is that men do not have a platform where they can actually be heard. We have a lot of podcasts, we have a lot of guests We have a lot of people having conversations. But you know, being one of the OGs in this game, I said, you know what, at— what about at this stage in my career that I focus on the men? Now ladies, it's going to be beneficial to you too because they're going to be able— you're going to be able to hear them ask their questions. Because what we're doing is it's called The Feminine Ear. The Feminine Ear is a radio show where men— only men can call in and ask me questions. And from there, I will answer them. Okay, so sometimes men may come on live if they decide to come on. Um, they were, you know, they've been showing me how to work this thing. So look, look, he said just push the button. So look, so we can do it like that, and I could just push the button, push the button, push the button, and then I could go back like this, that, like this. So they— he teaching me how to use all of, um, this equipment because I am so not the tech girl, right? But I'm learning. So, we will have it to where men can call in and ask me questions. I believe that my years of expertise, now being Dr. Mason, that I understand men at a level that a lot of women would like to learn. And so, with that, I said, "You know what? Why not give the men a platform?" One of the things that men say all the time is that, "Nobody listens to us. Nobody hears us." So, I want it to be where, ladies, we sit back, we relax, and we listen to what the fellas have to say. And in real time, you will get not only me being able to answer their questions and coach them, but you also get to be the fly on the wall to hear what they have to say, how they feel. And, you know, we got some other fun things going on. What do I need to do, Coach? So Coach is coaching right now. So I'm so excited about this project because it's easier for me. Let's see. You want— oh yeah, fellas, you want to be a guest? No, the ladies can't be a guest. Only men call in. The Feminine Era is all about men. Ladies have a lot of platforms. We have a lot of things for us. What are fellas? Fellas, where y'all at? If you're a fella, type fella in the chat box, because the ladies, we have a lot. I'm not even gonna lie, we have a lot of podcasters dealing with topic strictly for us. The fellas, they have people, but to be honest with you, I don't think the fellas have enough people, uh, with some sense. Okay, so I'm— so fellas, I'm gonna drop a link. I'm gonna drop a link and you'll be able to— what would I be able to do, Coach? Click the link.
We got fellas in here.
Um, I haven't seen any fellas yet.
That's William.
Oh, there go William. There's a William bit with me for a long time. William be acting up though sometimes. I remember William Mitchell, child. Thank you, Erica. So how do we do that? Oh, so that's the link. Okay. So we get it all together. I appreciate you, you ladies and gentlemen. Um, I appreciate you walking with me through this test because this starts officially October 1st. Tuesday will be— every, every Tuesday, The Feminine Era comes on at 9 PM Eastern Standard Time. We're going to start off with once a week. We're going to see how we can get this thing going. Um, and you know, I'm learning. I appreciate you all bearing with me because I'm learning, child. I'm— your girl is learning. And for those of you that are here, so the ladies are here, I do have something for you. On September 10th at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time, I will be hosting the Art of Flirting webinar. I'm finishing out my series. For those of you on YouTube didn't know about it, I did the Art of Vetting, Uh, we have The Art of Feminine Language, and you can upgrade to The Art— I'm sorry, you— it's The Art of Vetting. I did that last year. I enjoyed that thoroughly. It was fire. It's over 2 hours long. We're getting ready to do the other one, which is The Art of Flirting, because I realize a lot of women don't know how to flirt. Many of you get scared of men and you walk real fast and you just be looking left and right, and you don't know how to be the feminine experience and draw him in. You don't know how to give the 4-second stare to draw him in, honey. So I'm going to be teaching The Art of Flirting on September 10th at 7 PM. If you can't make it, register anyway. You will get access to the replay. The next step, uh, the one I'll be doing— I did this already, I think I'm going to do it again to complete my series— which will be The Art of Feminine Language. A lot of women do not know how to talk and use feminine language. Have I been using feminine language with you today? Since you've been here, have I been using feminine language?
All weekend? It hasn't been a whole week. Today?
Yeah, I've been using feminine language. I see. I just— I use feminine language.
So a man that's able to jump on with his camera—
hey, that's my cousin! Hey, Marcus! Marcus Mason! Uh-huh.
What's up, Marcus?
Can you come on live with me, Marcus, so we can see how this thing works? How— what do you do? He would have to click the link right there. Okay, so that's how they call in. What's wrong?
Any man. So it has to be a man.
It has to be a man. The set, the camera quality looks amazing. Thank you. Show the people your face. This is the man. This is the man. This is the money man. Ladies and gentlemen, if you ever want to do a podcast, if you have a digital product, if you want to brand or rebrand, this is the guy. I know, I know, I know I'll be acting up and I don't always, um, I don't always know what I want because y'all, I tell it, told them I'm going through perimenopause, child, and my brain don't be braining a lot of the times. And I've been cussing a lot lately and I just been all over the place and he has been patient and he's been bearing with me. I'm, you know, I got my testosterone shot for the first time. So ladies, the HRT, if you're on my Instagram, you know about the HRT, that hormone replacement therapy. I got it yesterday, so hopefully it's going to help with my brain fog, being scatterbrained, being, uh, you know, fatigued need all that. So we working on that, so bear with me. But this is the man.
Is this a backdrop? Yes, a backdrop. It's real.
Yes, real. It's not a— it's not a Zoom.
These real plants?
Yeah, they did. It's all— yeah. And we're gonna add a couple more girly things in here as well. I didn't want my set to be too girly because I'm talking to men. I wanted to give it a little bit of, you know, a little bit of, uh, machismo, a little bit of masculinity, and just— but with the feminine edge, you know. So yes, but this guy Um, he is the man if you ever want to get your business going from a digital standpoint. Matter of fact, if you go to kajabi.com, he's one of the— their top tier coaches and top performers that will come up on Kajabi's front page of their website. So he's— he came down from Atlanta. Um, for those of you on YouTube, you guys may not have known that I relocated last year I moved to Ohio, bought a house, opened up— I own a restaurant now here. So I'm between here, um, you know, Atlanta. So yeah, I have to catch my, my YouTube folks up. I'll probably do a, um, what's— what are they called— an update. I'll probably do a completely different update and just post it on my YouTube and kind of give you guys an update of what I have going on and where I've been, because I don't really post on YouTube too often. But, um, yeah, I'll give you that. But I wanted to come on and test this set out so you guys could tell me what you think, because I didn't— y'all, I don't want to be cheesy, you know? And I wanted to have the quality, quality. And he laughed because I've had all of this equipment for almost 2 years now and I haven't done anything with it because I didn't know what to do. Okay, somebody here? Is somebody in?
Nope.
So just have a man Hey, can a, can a gentleman click that link for me please and come on with me, even if it's just briefly? We just want to test the quality and see how things are coming through. And this is tech stuff, child. I have no clue when it comes to this, but he, he set things up to where all I have to do is push a button, a button or two.
That was Marcus. All right, cool. So see Marcus right here? Okay, so we're going to admit Marcus. Okay, so what's going to happen, Marcus is going to show up right here.
Okay.
Hey, Marcus right there.
And then we go like, hit the button. Yep.
So what we're going to do now, that's Marcus, right?
Yep.
See right here, we're going to add camera.
Okay.
And we're going to add Marcus to Guest 1.
Gotcha.
Okay, I hit that button, people.
Hey, cousin! All right, so now can we hear you? Okay, can I hear you? Oh no, I can't hear him yet. Uh, Is your mic on?
Okay, can you hear me now?
I can hear you now. What's going on, Curly Top?
You are so funny. Listen to you, girl.
I was literally just talking about you the other day. Who was I talking to? Somebody I was talking to brought you up. Who was I talking— my mom.
We went to your mother.
Yeah, we took a— we, we took a road trip to Columbus. Um, so yeah. Yeah, so we were just—
you look nice, April.
Thank you, how you doing?
I'm doing all right, just working on this music.
He's married. All the Masons, we, you know, we, we kind of sexy.
April, April, April, you crazy.
What's going on with you? What you got going on? Talk to you in a minute, man.
I have been working on, um my new album, of course.
I knew you was working on something music-wise.
Yeah, I bought my album, you know, I did my— this is from my album release, but I did my album back in October. So I've been working on my new album. This is my new album, okay, called Resounding Praise. Um, so I've just been working on that, but also working on Experiencing the Dream: MLK the Musical. I own the new musical that's going to be be going into the atmosphere.
Okay.
Yeah.
Oh, awesome. Okay, well, I'll be in here. Well, I probably won't have time to see you, but I'll be in LA on Monday. I have a, uh, Monday. Yeah, but I have a big photo shoot on Tuesday, and then I head back out on Wednesday.
So, um, what time are you coming in on Monday?
Uh, like 1 o'clock.
Are you coming in? You're coming to LA, right?
Uh, Burbank, because what I have to do was in Studio City, so I didn't want to go to LAX traffic, so I just said let's just go Burbank.
Gotcha. I might, I might come down there. You think, will you have time for lunch?
Yeah, because I'll be, I'll be at the hotel. I, I Send me all the info. I don't have your information. Get, um, I don't know if I have your phone number. Hold on, I don't think I have it.
I think you got it.
Do I?
Because I've changed mine. Listen, we went to Signal Hill together. I got yours.
What's— hold on, let me see, because I've changed mine.
Oh, oh, did you?
Yeah, the only Marcus I got in here is some sexy man, and I don't even remember who he is.
Listen, I ain't got nothing to do with that. That ain't me.
I don't know who this man is. He must not— he must have not made the cut, honey, because I don't remember.
Oh, that's crazy. You are funny.
Uh, no, I see your sisters, your— and I see Johnny in here.
Oh, okay.
Um, yeah, I, um, go to my Instagram and send me a DM and send me your, your number. Okay, because I don't have access to DMs and stuff on Instagram. I mean, on Facebook.
I could just send it. I could just send, um, I can send it straight to your number from my phone because I have your number.
What the number start with? What's the first— what's the first 3 numbers in my number?
F-E-M-I-N-I-N-E.
What? Oh, I know.
Come on, April.
Okay, okay. All right, I got it, I got you, I got you.
Uh, I'll, I'll, I'm, I'm, I'm gonna read. I'm gonna definitely reach out to you. I'm working on this musical though. You gotta— I can't wait till the world sees what I'm doing. I composed 24 songs for the new musical experience.
In fact, you know what else you got? What's that? You got that Mason Mole. Because I got one right here.
This one? Oh yeah, yeah.
But yeah, yeah, let me know about your music. When is it coming out?
Uh, we're working on it now. We're doing casting. We'll be doing casting next month, so we're hoping to release during King season 2025.
So, okay.
Uh, it's not— it's incredible. It's incredible. It's incredible. Nothing but God.
Gorgeous. I'm telling you, us Masons, myself, Marcus, and Johnny—
April, did you tell them we went to kindergarten together?
Well, they know now. We went to kindergarten together. So my mom and his father are brother and sister. So it's myself, him, and his brother Jonathan. We are forced to be regular, darling, in the sexy department, honey.
April, you crazy, girl.
You crazy.
Every time Johnny and I get together, it's the same thing.
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, and I love your haircut. I love your haircut.
I'm getting ready to cut it more off tomorrow, so that's why I got this hat on. And you know, I moved back to Ohio and I own a Christmas cafe, so that's what I've been keeping me busy as well. And we're getting ready for the holiday season. Yes.
Wow.
I'm getting ready. I got this new show, um, that I'm doing from the Grove in Upland, so it's going to be pretty big. I got people actually flying in from Ohio. For the new show.
This—
let me show you this. So I know you're online.
This is why we need this, because we're working on all of the tech stuff while you talking.
Well, look at this. I don't know if you can see that okay, but this is my new musical.
Okay, I see.
Experiencing the Dream: MLK the Musical.
Okay.
And so it's going to be everywhere. If you can look at that, all the music— I've done all the music. I co-wrote it. And it's my— it's my actual production.
So nice.
Um, along with—
hold on.
Oh, thank you. I'm in here in my office, girl.
Oh, wait, to go back. What you got on that wall? What's on that wall, Dr. Mason?
Which one?
I saw that. I just see all of the accolades on the wall, honey.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a few things in here, girl. Um, This is the last pair of shorts that Kobe signed right here. So I got Kobe, Shaquille, LeBron, AD, Magic, and Kareem. Okay, all on the same pair before Kobe died. Okay, but this is— these are— these are of course the first album. Okay, so I got the first album, I got the second album that just released, and believe it or not, this is the new show that I'm doing. That's coming up December 20th. So yeah, I'm just, just been working on a lot of stuff.
Okay.
Um, this is from my album release, so, and, um, it's, it's a bunch that I'm doing, but these are all actually, um, Micah's, my son's academic awards. In fact, we just come from an award show.
Okay.
For him now. And, um, it was just incredible, just incredible.
So Yeah, how's the wife?
Yeah, she's doing good. Okay, everybody's good. So I just wanted to— I saw you online. I said, let me say hi to my cousin.
I don't— I know I don't come on Instagram— I mean Facebook— as much, and I need to because I have over half a million followers over there, and I kind of just dropped everything because I wasn't feeling— what you want me to do? Okay, so right here. When I'm finished with him, hit you right here. Uh-huh. Oh, okay. So I assign you to guest one. Oh, when he's— when I'm done with him, I assign you to guest one over here. Okay, okay, Marcus, I gotta go. I gotta get back to work, but give me your phone number so we can connect and we can on Monday.
All right, I'm gonna send it to you. I got your number, so yeah, if you—
as long as you got my number, because I have changed it, so I don't know if you got the new one. If you don't, send it to my mama and she'll get it to me, or just send me a DM on Instagram.
I will. I got you. Love you.
All right, love you too.
All right, all right, bye.
All right, y'all, look, I pushed the button and that was just me again. Okay, hold on. So she told me to assign him to get— okay, so what do I— okay, this is what I do here. Okay, so I do that. There we go. And then I do what? Assign placeholder. There we go. Guess one. Wait a minute, your girl is getting it. And then I did it.
April Mason, can you hear me?
I can hear you. How you feel, huh? Oh, okay, I'm feeling good. I'm— this is, this is good. What time is it? We got to get you going though.
Okay, um, all the people that are in the chat box from Facebook and YouTube, um, I want you guys to do something for me. I want you guys to light up the chat box and just type April, April, April. I want y'all to show my friends some love. Uh, I've been seeing April for over a decade, and, uh, April was on my dream list of clients and people that I wanted to work with. And, um, April, I just wanted to say that I absolutely salute you for the work that you've done over these decades with women Uh, hearing pieces of your story and how you've been dedicated to this space. And I just wanted everybody— I know this is a test run and we're going to perfect this over the next month, but I just want everybody in the chat box, if April Mason has done anything for you, maybe it's been one of her crazy videos, maybe it's a statement that she's made, maybe it's a mindset that she shifted for you, if you guys don't mind, in the chat box, just type April, A-P-R-I-L. APRIL. Give her some likes, give her some comments, give her some hearts.
And, uh, did he freeze? Hold on, you, you got stuck. Hold on, let me see something. Let me see if I can Fix it. Let me see. We lost you. We lost you, but it's okay. I'm good. Oh yeah. Oh, he's stepping outside. Okay, because we don't need him to miss his flight. Okay, hold on. Add, add camera. Okay, hold on.
All right, come back again.
Turn you sideways. There we go.
All right, cool. Can you hear me better now?
I can hear you better now.
Awesome. What's the last thing you heard me say?
That I'm fabulous.
That what?
That I'm fabulous.
Okay, you're fabulous. You're so fabulous, and I want to give you your virtual flowers, and I want everybody that's on this live— I know we're testing things out But just give April some flowers. Just type April in the chat box. April. Type April in the chat box. What I was saying earlier was that some years ago I had saw April, and because of her fabulousness, I said to myself, hey, this is somebody that I want to support, somebody who I want to take their vision to the next level. And I'm absolutely honored to be your business partner and your growing friend. And, uh, I just want to say well done on this new phase, this new feminist space you in, this soft space you in, this, um, I don't know what you're doing, but also giving men an opportunity to share with women how men think. Yeah, it's not that men are crazy or women are crazy. I think sometimes We've just lacked the communication around that. And I think this, this new project that you have, The Feminine Ear, is going to give women an opportunity to really understand how men think.
Yeah.
No, all men aren't the same.
No.
Right. But, you know, men are amazing. Women are amazing. And I think this, The Feminine Ear, is going to give women the opportunity to just have conversation. Have clear conversation and, uh, and allow people to come on, on a court. So, um, we're testing things out. You're doing pretty good. But yeah, in the chat box, uh, type April Mason. Uh, my name is Kantis Simmons, K-A-N-T-I-S. If you guys listening and watching need any help with anything, just DM me. I'm all over the interweb. Like the man said one time, Google me. Google me, you'll find me. Come on, somebody. Google me. So I'm coming back inside where the Wi-Fi is. But, um, yeah, April, go ahead and knock me out, do your thing.
Okay.
And, uh, love you, love.
I appreciate you.
All right, all right, bye-bye.
Bye. All right, y'all, you heard the man. So, you know, all I asked him, I said, listen, what would it take for you to come out here and set up my podcast studio? I'm finally, um, ready to, you know, get back in the game because I needed to take some time. I needed to take some time for myself. Oh, this is how you play with it. Okay, we can go all the way out. We can go all— we can go in. Okay, I like, I like. Perfect. So I'm learning how to play with the things.
Right here, move it down.
I can move— oh, I can move this down. Oh. Gotcha. So I could be like right in here. Perfect. So, um, I'm learning, you all. I think there needed to be— I think that one of the OGs need to come— needed to come on back, child, because the way that things have gotten out of control, the way that the fearmongering is going on, the way that people are not living their lives, the way that people are not, um— huh, you got Will you make it in 45 minutes? What time your flight leave? Y'all make it? It's 4:20. Here, let me see. Hold on, let me check TSA. I have the TSA app and it'll tell me how long the wait is. Oh, it's a wait. Are you, do you have a, are you security or do you have a, did you go through regular security or did you have PreCheck? I got TSA PreCheck, I got everything. Okay, so it's 15 minutes, 15 to 30 minutes at the Pittsburgh airport. All right, Hugs, hold on, y'all. Hugs, thank you so much. Oh, I appreciate you though.
Did they show you some love?
Yeah, they showed me some love.
Hit cancel right there.
Okay, exit out. Okay. Okay, scroll over right here. Scroll here. Oh, we got 139 people watching. We gotta, we gotta connect the Instagram piece. So we just, I just asked them in the stories if they could just come over here, but I was saying, I thought it was time for one of the OGs to come back to do what she does because there is a lot of fearmongering going on. There's a lot of misunderstanding going on. There's a lot of false information. You guys drive safe. You need anything, my love? You hungry? Did I treat you good? Did I, did I do you good? Okay. You making sure you didn't leave anything? Well, even I'll be in Atlanta next week anyway, so if you left something, I'll bring it. Love you too. Bye. Oh, I gotta wait till— wait, I gotta wait till he get— wait a minute, I gotta wait till he get back, my driver, before I can leave. Hold on, hold on, hold on, y'all. Hold on. Well, you know what, forget it, y'all. Forget it. I guess I'll sit here. So the other— oops— the other gentleman you heard is my driver. I have a full— for those of you on YouTube that are new, I haven't given y'all the tea. I have a full-time driver and security, and so he— I'm riding with him today. So that, that means— that means I'm gonna have to wait for, um, Aunt to come back to take me home. That's gonna be in like 2 hours. That's okay, I can get some work done, uh, while I'm here at the office. So As I was saying, I believe that there's a lot of foolishness going on. I believe that that foolishness is preventing people from getting together, and I believe that everything is being crossed. Um, you know, I've talked about it before. The average man in America makes about $63,000 a year. The average woman in America— see you later— makes about 4— about almost $50,000 a year. But we're having these conversations of if a man isn't making $50,000 a year, if he's making that, he shouldn't be dating. We are having the most craziest conversations that are going on right now. And I stay off the internet, child. Hold on, I forgot I had gum in my mouth. Hold on, y'all, I'm getting it together. Um, and these conversations are just crazy. You got women wanting, you know, these dating these 30-year-old men, 35-year-old men. I need to be flown out. They flew me out. You know, to Dubai. You know, I'm like, girl, he's 29, he's 30. Like, everything is just crazy right now. I believe there's a lot of fear, fear-mongering going on. I believe a lot of people are being labeled narcissists when they're not. Um, see you Tuesday. Okay, yeah, they have a lot of, um, fear, um, going on. I mean, they calling people narcissists, gaslighting. Folks are learning all these new words and carrying on and don't really know what the heck they mean. And so I just believe that, um, although there are a demographic of men who are trash, I believe that there's a larger demographic of men that are just misunderstood, not heard. And we all know that men can sometimes, oftentimes than not, have not too good of a time communicating properly. So Here I am in the middle. I don't know what it is. We were talking about it yesterday. I don't know what this gift is that I have. But I can have a gift to be able to translate to men what women are saying and translate to women what men are saying. And I can hear men and I technically, you know, we were talking yesterday and I can say I actually know men better than they know themselves because A lot of times men don't— they don't go inward and do the inside work, okay, to be able to know themselves, right? And then when they do find themselves knowing a little bit about themselves, they don't know how to articulate it. So we are going to be talking about that, but I will only be allowing men to call in because I want to give them a platform. I've been working with the ladies for almost 20 years, and I think I, I did, you know, y'all some good service. I really do. And I have all kind of products and, and courses and books, Um, shout out to my new book. I have a new— two new books coming out on the same day, November 2nd. The promo is getting ready to start. First book coming out is called Her Invisible Value: What Feminine Women Bring to the Table. And on the same day, I will be doing the men a disservice if I didn't release a book for them called His Invisible Value: What Masculine Men Bring to the Table. I just believe that Men and women don't know how to quantify or identify their value. Women, they don't know how to identify their value outside of their beauty, their accomplishments, their degrees, their education, you know, and their sex tricks. Men don't know how to understand that their invisible value and what that is. All they know is, I am a protector and a provider, I have money. And we live in a time where high value and high earning are not coinciding together. They're not necessarily synonymous. All right, so with that, it's very important for men to know, bruh, look, the women are getting their money up, child, and we don't just need you for money. The reason why so many women are leaving, even though you have the provider, the provision, and the, the finances, is because the other parts are not being met. So when I was coaching, I— my 40% of my coaching practice were married people trying to come and ask— well, not trying, they were coming to figure, trying to figure out why they were clashing. Why they were clashing? Because the man would always say, but April, I give her everything. She got the house, she got the nice car, she got all of the things, right? I said, but my love, did you ever ask her what she needed from you? Think about that. Did you ever ask her what she actually needed from you? And also, have you figured out what your value is to your life outside of your paycheck and outside of your provision. The men that came before you put this burden on you and made you believe that you don't have any value outside of that. Then that's not the case, because if it were, women would just be okay with you having money and, you know, you protecting. But you see, women aren't just being okay with that. It has to be more, and that more is going to make you more, and it makes you feel better because now you're changing the dynamic of what the men who established this here world created. They're the ones that put you in this trick bag and said all your worth is, is this, and all a woman's worth is, is that. Now there's a fight trying to change what they created. So I just think there needs to be healthy conversations. No arguing, no fussing, fussing, no fighting. Y'all know I don't get into all of that, the podcast stuff. Y'all know that's not who I am. This is solutions-based, solutions-based only. We won't be having any in-studio guests. This is like kind of Dave Ramsey style. You call in, what's your question, my love? You— oh, and this is my, this is my line, y'all. We figured out what I'm gonna say when I'm gonna answer the phone. Child, it's gonna— I'm gonna say You've reached the feminine heir. Talk to me. We figured that out. So we've been working, we've been working over the last couple days. So I'm excited, um, to be back. Uh, I feel so much better. I've been feeling horrible over the last couple years. For those of you that didn't know, I was diagnosed with lupus in 20— end of 2018, early— I think it's maybe 2019. Um, then I started going through the perimenopausal stuff, and I've been like, I've been doing just enough. The little bit that you have seen me do, child, I had to, you know, I had to gear up and then get a little bit of energy, stir up a little energy within me in order to do that. So now I'm feeling a lot better. I have a functional medicine doctor. I've changed quite a bit of things. You know, I relocated outside of Atlanta. I'm no longer in the hustle and bustle. I have a better quality of life. I have a full staff at my restaurant. Uh, we're going to hire 4 more people. I'm now, um, finishing up my hiring for my staff of like my personal assistant. I have my driver. I have— I think we're going to hire the guy that I interviewed yesterday to do a lot of our content creation. So I had to learn how to create, um, the kind of life that I wanted based around where I am right now. And where I am right now is in a I'm in my madam, dark feminine, sensual, Harlem Renaissance era. You know, that's where I'm at right now. You know, I just, I feel, I don't know. I feel maybe in a former life I was that girl. Like I might have been the woman that walked around with the umbrella, with the big fancy dress on like a Mae West. Hey boys. How y'all doing? I feel like I was her. I don't know. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I'm in this different phase of life. I don't know if it's because y'all know I'm excited. I'm really excited about coming up on my 50th birthday in June of next year. So I'm excited about that. Hey, Candace, he on his way. Hey, hey, hey, I'm still going. As you see, I'm learning how to work the buttons and everything while we are here. And I so appreciate everybody, all 141 of y'all in here that are rocking with me. It's probably gonna be a little bumpy when we first get started until I learn how to work the buttons. And then, um, our new hire, he will be here on Tuesday nights. Our first live airing is October 1st at 9 PM. And so I'll have, uh, two of my team members here to help me with the buttons just in case something come loose, you know. So we are— I'm excited. I'm excited about this new stage. I believe that you shouldn't allow people to put you in a box. You know, I believe that you need to pivot. I believe it's okay to be whatever you want to be. For those of you that haven't read my book Identity Switch: Becoming the Woman Who Gets What She Wants, you can change at any given time. You know, the internet is, oh my God, April Mason is a chameleon. You're damn right she is. If you understand what a chameleon is, a chameleon is, is something or someone that knows how to adjust, that knows how to fit into an environment. And most of y'all, especially the chocolate people, y'all code switch anyway every time you leave the house and go to work. So yes, I love being a chameleon. I love being able to be, to understand that in my femininity, it's not just one thing. My femininity can be wild and courageous at one point. It can be meek and mild. It can be extremely sexy and sensual. It could totally be a spiritual thing. It just can just be whatever I'm in the mood for. That's why I love I love to teach women that don't let anybody ever box your femininity in. Because in their mind, it's the color pink, you know, it's the weave, it's the eyelash, it's walking like this, it's talking like that. Nah, that's not what femininity is. I taught you in my book, femininity is like Mother Nature. Mother Nature can be nurturing, it can give you sunshine, it can take care of you, it provides you with the resources that you need to survive. But Mother Nature can also be catastrophe, destruction. It will destroy anything in its way that's not truth. So let's not make this whole thing about femininity. That's why I stopped talking about it as much, because it's like everybody talk about femininity like it's, it's something that you can buy at the beauty supply store. And, or, or they connect femininity with a man. Y'all know I've never taught you that femininity has nothing to do with a man. Having a better man is a byproduct of you becoming a better woman. I've taught y'all that for a long time. That that's what it is. And so we are in a stage or in a phase, um, in the world and on the internet where it's a lot of people out here teaching a lot of wrong things and they're complicating things. You know, femininity has nothing to do with a man. However, do feminine women get access to a better quality of man? The answer would be yes. Okay, but women only would come to me because they wanted a better man, you know. And then I saw a video, y'all, that was about me. I, I guess it was done a year ago, saying I was charging women $10,000 to meet men. Girl, child, some, some, some clown on the internet did that. Well, child, I didn't charge nobody $10,000 to meet a man. And what it was was those women paid $1,500 for a leveled up experience, and I put them in the room, in the arena with men. So, child, you know, I know over the last several years since I've been gone, people have been using my name for clout. But this is what I do, you know, when it comes to the women. And this, this is the part that I love. Women always talk about they want a different caliber of man, but they will not put themselves in a different environment. So what I do is I curate events, like when we did the, um, the Falcons versus the— what was it? The Falcons versus— what was it? The Falcons versus the 49ers game, I put them in the building in a suite because I wanted to expose them to a different, a higher level of living, right? And some people get mad, they'd be like, she, she charging people to meet. No, I paid $30,000 for that suite. Let's talk about that, out my own pocket, right? And I believe that a lot of women don't meet men because they're in the same environments. They're not in proximity to what it is that they want. So I curate events for women so that they can be put in situations so they know what to do. Because women always ask me, well, where the men at? I can show you where the men at. That's easy. But will you know what to do when you get there? Every time I do an event, a live event, and I ask women, are you afraid of men? 99.9% of the women raise their hand and say, I am afraid of men. Okay, so I like to put women in environments, you know, all right, to where they, they can function. Women and what they're asking for— women want these men, but they don't know how to function with them. So, child, I'll just be— I just saw the video the other day. I said, oh, these people be liking to talk about Miss Mason because Miss Mason bring them them numbers, baby. Miss Mason bring them them numbers, honey. So, child, I've learned to just let them talk. I don't have nothing to say, but we Me and my team saw it the other day. I don't know how we saw it, and I just started cracking up. I said, child, you— they said I didn't charge the people $10,000 to meet rich men, and that's not even what I teach. But you know, anybody with a faceless YouTube page, child, we don't pay them no mind because at the end of the day they don't have enough courage to show their face. So we don't pay them no mind. So we kind of kiki'd about it, child. And I said, child, let them talk. Uh, the fifth floor freedom is kicking in. It's quite, quite lovely. Yes, girl, it's something being at that fifth floor, honey. I told you something about 5th floor. But I appreciate you guys for joining me today as I'm learning all of this tech stuff. So he's got this whole thing set up and all of this tech stuff and this, this RODECaster and the click this button and you click that button. So I will be doing some practicing before we go live and, you know, on October 1st. So I'm excited about this new phase. I'm excited about my new books. If you are in New York I am on currently on tour. My first stop is September 14th in New York. I'm currently on tour with Dr. Bobby Price and Stephan Speaks. So we're gonna have a good time. The title of their tour is Time for Change, and I will be speaking on some things. You got to come to the event to see what I'm speaking on, but you can join me in— but September 14th in New York. I believe it's October 21st in DC, and the last stop, November 2nd, will be in Atlanta. You can actually go to Dr. Bobby Price's website, click on bobbyprice.com/tour, I believe it is, and you can get your tickets and meet us there. Okay, so I'm getting ready to go get some work done. I guess I might, I might, um I may take, um, some time, you know, some time and get some work done because I— or I take an Uber home because I don't have no way home, child. Well, I'm grateful that the algorithm brought you here as well too. I'm glad if you— that means you're a newcomer, and I've been on the scene since 2008. Uh, want to consider myself one of the OGs in this self-development femininity space. And I've been gone. You know, I think it's okay to take your time and figure out what you want to do, who you want to be in this season. Y'all do it. Know that at any given moment, you can decide who you want to be, right? You do know that? Like, if you riding down the street right now, you listening to me, you can be at a stop sign right now and say, I want to change my style. I wanna change where I live. I wanna change how much money I make. And in that moment, you have made a decision to make an identity switch. And then from that point, all you gotta do is take the steps to think and be like that person that you see that has a new style, more money, a better job, you know, a love life or somebody loving on them like they've never had before. You can do that. So I love that about life, that at any given moment you do not have to stay the same. So I am looking at who do I want to be, what do I want my style to be in this season? Because I gave away pretty much all my clothes, all my shoes. I had about 200 pair of shoes. I probably gave away 185 pair of them. And so I'm excited to see who I become in this season. And I love it. And I love not allowing anybody to box me in, to tell me what I can and can't talk about, what I can and can't do, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Just understand, child, at any given moment, whatever you're feeling, whatever you're going through, you can make a decision right now. Right now. Okay. He says you can end by pressing the end live button. Okay, end live button. I see a finish button. End live button. Where would I find that end live button? Is it the finish button? Because all I see is a finish button right now. I said I want to throw all my clothes away. Well, not all, but majority. Yes, that's what I did, girl. I did, I did. And I had like 15 big garbage bags, contract bags that I gave away, is what I had. And I was like, I want something fresh, new. I'm having my house redone, my kitchen, everything. So, I just want to be a new individual in this season. And I believe I'm in my sexy season. I really am. I'm really in my— Dark feminine season. And no, that don't have nothing to do with manipulation, okay? Erica says, since I started following you in 2019, I definitely have transformed my inner and outer style. Love you so much, Miss April. Love you too, Erica. Yes, that's any given moment. You do not have to stay the same. You do not have to be what people want you to be. Screw them. Tell them to go, go play, go play in traffic, baby. We don't have time. We don't have time for that. We do not have time. For that. But it's a beautiful feeling to know that you're the artist and your life is the canvas, and you can decide at any given moment. So in this moment, I decided to start the Feminine Ear talk show, the premier coaching experience for men, and they can call in and ask me questions. Who knows, in another season I may do something else. In another season I might do something else. Who knows? I never thought in a million years that I would own a year-round Christmas-themed a restaurant. Who knows? Do what you want to do. Go live your life and understand that a lot of what's going on that you have fear about on the internet, it's not going on in real life. There are— these are only conversations that are being had online. That's it. Yes, Glamour Luxe, I'm in my seductive and sexy spicy era too. You know, I just feel it. I, I sleep with now this, um, I have this like I got this salt lamp and it's so pretty and I turn it on. I don't even turn the lights on in my bedroom anymore. I got this mirror, I put on my little lingerie, honey. I got my little satin sheets. I'm just in that phase, you know, of life right now. And I'm going to embrace all of it. All of the sexy, all of the sensual, all of my seductiveness and allure. I'm just embracing all of it right now. You know, I'm gonna get the folks a little something to talk about. But she almost 50. You damn right. You right. And I'm enjoying this part of life, being a grandmother, being, you know, I'm a mom, business owner, but most of all, I am a woman who enjoys being just that, a woman. And I enjoy talking to the men folks. So hopefully, this new phase will bring some answers bring some clarity, and bring some adult conversation. A lot of this stuff that I'm saying, I'm like, "Chile, mm, let's not do that." Okay? But there's a lot of misinformation going on about what femininity is, what a man should be, what a man should not be, what a woman should be, 50/50, gaslighting, toxic masculinity, toxic femininity, all of the other stuff. It's just like a headache. So, because a lot of people don't have lives, they're living through these. So, every— all of your fear is coming through only conversations that are being had online. You have men talking about, well, I don't want a woman if she over a certain size, but the average woman in America is a size 14, 16. Well, women over 40, don't nobody want them. Well, there's never been a more— a time in history that women over 40 are getting married for the first time. So a lot of these conversations that has people in a chokehold are only happening online. Hey, Johans, I do remember you. How are you doing, my love? Yes, it was about 10 years ago. Hope all is well with you. I do remember you. I think you did my, my first book promo, The Broken But Not Bound. I believe you did. Yes, that was a long time ago. So yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to live life, get off the internet, and have good time. You know, don't let all of these bitter women on the internet scare you. If you want love, go, go get it. Fellas, stop, stop listening to all of these jokers on the internet tell you women don't want average men and, and women want a man that makes at least $130,000, $160,000. Stop because the average American person, man, doesn't even make $65,000 a year. So folks are having conversations outside of their tax bracket, and they got you feeling some sort of way about it. So we're gonna stop that. So we're gonna have adult conversation, but this platform and this season is for the fellas because the ladies want to hear from you, and I want to be able to to do my part to maybe assist you in whatever you're going through and help you get the results you want. If it's a wonderful woman you want, help you identify the type of man that you need to be to get the woman that's good for your peace, legacy, and your portfolio. Okay. And it also gives us the opportunity to have a conversation with the fellas without women interrupting, because, fellas, ladies, y'all know y'all interrupt. Even when I post a post asking men only, women always have something to say. Well, I just, I just wanted to comment to make the algorithm. No, just like the post. The algorithm gonna algorithm and bring you back. Uh, so I just, I just want to give the fellas the floor. I'm gonna give the fellas the floor. I, you know, that's what I want to do is give them the floor. So it's important that they have uninterrupted time with— I would call myself a wise woman. I'm not arguing with you. I'm not fussing with you. But I want to hear your heart. and I want you to be able to share whether you want to come online. You don't have to come on live because, you know, you can call in as well too. But I just want to give you a platform to, for understanding, not necessarily to argue. Do I work with married people? Well, here's the thing, um, I don't coach privately anymore, but a lot of women, married women and married men, come to me separately. So it's— I don't— it's not necessarily about them being married. It's not the relationship status. It's them, the individuals, that have not, um, come into their own healing. So, um, when I have worked with married couples, I typically work with them on how to communicate and how to date each other again and hear what the other is saying. So the fellas will come in and be like, but she did this, not the third, and she's going back and forth with him. And I'm able to to say, all right, sir, this is what she's saying, and I can give it to him in man language. Ma'am, this is what your husband is saying, and I can give it to her in woman language. So I have a gift to breaking things down to the lowest common denominator so that the other party can get a better understanding what their mate is saying. Because that's a big problem, because a lot of people are on high alert, especially women. Women are on edge, and you triggered by a lot of things. Uh, he said— I'm like, girl, bring it on in, bring it on in, bring it. This— that's not, that's not what that meant. It's kind of like the video I did on Instagram with, uh, in response to Cam'ron and Mase when they were talking about, I need a woman to attack me. See, if I knew how to work this, I would show y'all the video. Um, but it was like, I need a woman to attack me, I need a woman to attack me, I need a woman to know that I know one that knows that a woman wants me, I need— so all of the thousands of comments in the, in the comment section, women were like, oh, they want a woman to chase them. Ain't nobody chasing no man. And here come Auntie. I said, Auntie Wisdom, child, let me, let me help y'all. He's not saying that he— they're not saying they want you to chase. What they're saying is men know that women choose them. What they're waiting on is a green light. And the green light could be the 4-second stare. The green light could be a smile. The green light could be the come hither eyes. But the fact that today women immediately go to the analytical side of, of, of who they are versus the womanly wisdom, the flirty womanly wisdom, the sensual side. We all— it's not a good thing because it's like, if this is what it is, because as, as the quote says, a woman— I mean, a nation cannot rise higher than its woman. And if woman— women don't have womanly wisdom now, child, we all doomed. We're all doomed. So that's my expertise when it comes to helping couples, it's more so to help them communicate and to be able to decipher what they're trying to say and help them be able to deliver it better, and to also help women use feminine language when they talk to their men. I have an ebook out called The Art of Feminine Language on my website. You can get that ebook, and it helps women say things differently. I give 50 general phrases that women usually will say, how they typically respond, and then how to respond in a more feminine way to get what you want. Why do I have to do that, Miss April? Because you want what you want. You can't give a cat dog food and wonder why it's not taking it. It just doesn't work that way, okay? So you have to use feminine language, just like men have to use a particular language to talk to us. It just is what it is. So I'm excited about what's to come. We're going to put the TV up right here, and I got some other little girly little doodads that are going to go here. But I'm excited about this new phase, and I just want to see what happens. I want to see what it does. I'm really excited about the menfolk coming on to talk to me, and, um, maybe we can come up with some solutions. Because at the end of the day, y'all know y'all want somebody. Y'all know y'all want a husband, and y'all know y'all want a wife. Life. Let's be clear, all this fear running around, fear of commitment, fear of closeness, fears, intimacy, it's time to kill all that. Do y'all understand the average man in America lives to age 74, between 74 and 76? The average woman lives to about 70, between 78 and 81. We don't have all freaking day for you to get it together. And I think what's bigger for me and why I'm even diving into this side is is I think it's very important. I think it's very important for us, myself included, to leave a love legacy blueprint. We will leave our children all of, you know, their inheritance, you know, life insurance, recipes, grandma's pots and pans, you know, the china cabinet and the china. But did we leave them a blueprint on how to actually have a healthy relationship? That stuck with me over the last couple years, so much so I had to say, you know what, April, that applies to you too, because I wasn't interested in getting married. Not because nothing was wrong with marriage, I've already done that, and I wanted to take the time to get to know me once I became an empty nester. So I became an empty nester at 42, and so imagine having kids at 18 and being somebody's wife. I wasn't trying to do that. I wanted to do me. So now, I understand that it's time to reel it on in. Someone say, "Oh, she wanna wait till she 49." And you know how they say, "Been ran through," and all of this stuff. Child, please. Us 49s is 49 in it, child. We still fine, cute, and we got all of our senses. And we just very selective and just won't accept anything. You can't buy us because, you know, a lot of the fellas in our age group, all they have is some money and some protection, but the intellectual maturity and the, uh, emotional intelligence is not there because they've only been taught that all you have to do is provide. And I want to show the fellas that you are so much more valuable than just your wallet. I understand in order for you to feel like a man, you need to be providing, and I get it. I don't want you to get stuck in, this is all I am. You're not. You're so much more than a car payment, a mortgage payment, you know, protection. You're so much more than that, but you haven't been taught what you actually are. And so because of that, the conversations of women don't want no man that make $50,000 a year. Well, you're more than $50,000 a year. Well, in this economy, hell, move. Let's stop using all of these excuses because every excuse you give me, I'm gonna give you a solution. But I don't think men— I think the forefathers that came before them did you a disservice of saying and showing and doing and creating this world to where you only have two functions— well, three: protector, provision, and, uh, procreator. Okay, so it's very important that men know that, and a lot of men are scared. A lot of these men that are older that don't want to settle down, child, they scared as all get out. Because I coach with them and they're scared, they're fearful. The 50, 55 pluses that I've— men that I coach, even some of your favorite celebrity men, oh, they scared as all get out. Now on TV or in the world, they look like these big robust heroes. Ciao. By the time we get finished talking We pull back all of the layers and it's fear. Fear of failing, fear of being loved, fear of opening up, being vulnerable. A lot of them are terrified of someone giving back to them. Like, all I've ever been in my life was a provider, and you mean I got a woman that's showing up? I got a woman that will do for me? I got a woman that has my back for real? But a lot of them are not used to that because all they do is provide. So now, they crave connection and intimacy, but they don't know how to actually connect. Those are my clients, y'all. So, with that, instead of talking down about them, "Oh, they should know that. They should have handled that in their 30s," and blah, blah. I'm not going to do that. Going to give them a platform. So maybe we can work it out. Maybe we can work it out, and maybe we can get to some type of a resolution because there's some amazing men out here and there's some amazing women out here and they want to connect. So fellas, it's your turn. It's your turn, and I'm going to help you dive deep to figure out what that— what that barrier is, because there's a barrier. And like I said, I deal with it all the time. I deal with it all the time with the men. And I'm like, well, she's a wonderful woman. And I— what was the problem? What's your— what's your hesitation, man? I'm scared. Scared of what? I'm scared to be loved on. Like, I'm scared to be, um, in that space where I have to depend on somebody else because I'm used to being the one to be— to being depended on. So I want to let men know that they're so much more valuable than what they can do, because a lot of men, if you take away their ability to provide They don't know who they are. Okay. Yeah, they don't know who they are. What's this? You don't. So that's all I have for today. Looks like I'm going to be sitting here for a while unless I take an Uber home because he just took Candace to the airport, which is almost an hour away, and then he got to come back in an hour or so. So I may be Uber over some food and chill out a little bit at the office. April, love, love, love your book. Y'all buy Identity Switch ASAP. Thank you so much. I appreciate that. Identity Switch, I believe, will at least get you on the right track to becoming who you want to be. And the beautiful thing is, I give you permission to become. I give you permission to step out aside of the life that you've been living and the personality that you've taken on because of those that may have come before you that put their fear, their limitations on you. It's a beautiful thing to know that at any given moment, you can change your entire life at any given moment. Like, just like that. Just like, "Mm, you know what? I want to—" conquer the world and I want to travel. Okay, so what type of life do I need to have to do that? I want to fall in love and be with a woman or a man that just adores me. What do, what do my beliefs need to be in order to do that? Can I be the same version of myself and think the same way that I think in order for that person to come into my life because I am a signal. And what my signal says, it will also bring that person or those type of people into my life. So my signal has to be right. You can't listen to garbage and then expect for a wonderful person to come into your life and you not be afraid of them. Child, you got to make sure he ain't a narcissist. Child, you got to make sure— here's 5 keys to know that you're dealing with a toxic man. Here is 7 keys to know you're dealing with a narcissist. Chile, you gotta— that's— be cautious. Put it like this: follow your heart, just take your brain with you. But you will not be able to meet the man and woman of your dreams until, number one, you acknowledge and accept that that's what you want. And number two is you stop listening to crap. That's it. What you listen to will determine what your beliefs will be, and your beliefs will determine what your movements are going to be. Girl, they out here, and it's a lot of women on the internet, especially TikTok, that always got these scary stories. But here's the deal, when they telling the story, within the first few minutes of telling the story, child, they talk about the red flag and they don't even realize it. They typically push past the red flag. Men do it too. I told the two fellas I was with today, One night when they picked me up, I said, y'all both pushed past the red flags. I don't feel sorry for you. Because when they're talking, I'm hearing the, um, I'm hearing it. But then I think I told the fellas today, I see what your problem is. You got the rescue syndrome. You want to rescue people. You think that you can come in and swoop and save somebody, even though the red flags be blurring— blaring, excuse me. They'd be blaring, child, but you still gonna keep pushing. I don't feel sorry for you. So if you listen to these stories from a lot of these women and men, the red flags was already there. Women, because they're not connected to their femininity, spirituality, sensuality, and wisdom, they always get played. And then the church community got mad at me when I was on the Dear Future Wifey podcast when I I said the easiest women to get ran through are church women. And I didn't say that to be disrespectful. I said that because it's the truth. The children's ministry is constantly growing with children without wedded parents. So we gotta have these conversations, you know, of why do the church ladies have the hardest time with men. So there has to be a disconnect. And I figured it out. I'm going to teach it in December, um, in my Cold Red event that I'll be teaching. I'll be teaching that. Um, what the disconnect is with the religious women and their femininity and why they have the hardest time when it comes to men. They're so spiritual and so religious on this end— or so religious, I won't say spiritual— they're so religious on this end that on when it comes to the human, the natural connecting and mating, uh, faith, they are just have no woman whatsoever. No woman wisdom whatsoever. So I'll be doing an event— we're solidifying the location now— in December. It's called Code Red, and Code Red stands for the positioning of Ruth, the feminine language of Esther, and the methods of Delilah. And I'll be teaching that in December. I would love to do this live, so we're trying to find a location. I wanted to do it in Atlanta. Atlanta is charging way too much. For a venue for a few hours. So we might end up doing it in December in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, somewhere where there's an airport for those that may want to fly in. You can fly in, it'll be in December, like the top of December. But I was trying to really do it in Atlanta because y'all know I was in Atlanta for 20 years and I'm real familiar with Atlanta. But my business coach was saying, well, April, you might want to hit some of these smaller markets because although you have, um, you know, people, your number one demographic is New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston, you might want to do something in the Midwest. So I'm looking at Midwest, you know, since I live up here now. So we're looking at possibly Cleveland, uh, and or Pittsburgh, somewhere in there. I just know that it snows and sometimes, so I don't know. So we're trying to figure out the details, but this is an event that I need to do live. I need to feel y'all. I need you to feel me. I need you to hear me, uh, when I break down this controversial message of the position of Ruth, the feminine language of Esther, and the methods of Delilah. If you guys get that, you're unstoppable. If you understand what I'm getting ready to lay on you, child. 'Cause I gotta lay it on you. And it's, you know, I've had a couple of people say, "Well, I don't know, you know, that's gonna be a lot controversial." And it is. And it is. But I'm gonna rip off the band-aid. And I'm gonna put some Neosporin on it and I'm gonna bandage you back up because I have to show the Christian woman how she got so disconnected from her femininity and why she has such a hard time. I've never been to Detroit. Y'all said Detroit. I've never been to Detroit, y'all. Did y'all get snow? Did y'all come out in the snow in Detroit? Let me know because I'm new to this. This was my first, um, winter, um, you know, this past winter. The only time it snowed was the weekend my restaurant opened. That was January 20th. That was when we had a little— it wasn't a big snow, but it was a snow. So I don't know. I don't know much about Detroit, but I figure you guys still go to concerts and stuff in the wintertime, right? Because I want to do it before the year is out. I really do. If I can't find a location, I will do it the top of the year, but it's on me, and I would love to do it. In before the year is out. And December, the first week in December, maybe no later than the second, would be, um, great. But I just don't know. But y'all that have lived up here, you guys know how that works. Yes, we come out in Cleveland, nothing closes. Okay, all right. So I'm gonna look at that. I have, I have somebody looking at, um, a theater in Cleveland. I got an email, text message from her today. Um, so yeah, she said, women will tell you an hour story trying to, trying to overcomplicate their situation when the answers are simple and should have been obvious in the first. Yes, yes. So I'm thinking about, uh, probably the Midwest because, child, I reached out to a couple— we reached out to a couple of people. My publicist called in Atlanta, and I want to do the event at like, um, or on a Friday night from like 7 to 10, or, um, you know, maybe, you know, I just wanted to be in the evening, but if we can, if we can make something happen, you know, in the afternoon, I don't know. We're trying to figure it out. Um, but Atlanta was trying to— for a couple of hours, $10 grand. I need a place that seats at least 500 people. Um, so this is— this, this message has been on me for a while. I've been a little hesitant to teach it because, um, it has to— it goes deeper than just religion or womanhood. It has to break down how we got to where we are as women, um, in the Christian community, and why so many Christian women's constantly keep giving and believing and hoping and praying and believing God for a husband, but nothing seems to be moving. And I can explain to you why. I can explain to you why. And it's not gonna be a happy message, but it's going to be a transformative message, and it's gonna help you connect your religion to your femininity and merge them together and allow them to work for you, not against you. So, it's definitely going to be interesting, and I'm nervous. Y'all know I ain't been on the scene like that. I've been in my own little bubble. But I know what I'm supposed to do. So between the Feminine Ear, doing this event in December, and running my cafe, y'all, and loving on my grandchildren, that's all I'm doing. And when I'm outside, outside. I wasn't outside because I wasn't feeling well for the last couple years. But she outside, outside right now. You said, "You will be proud of Detroit. We show up and out." Okay. All right. So I'mma look into it. I'mma look into some, may possibly, some some places in Detroit. I would need some radio stations to market on and all of that good stuff. So I'm excited to do it. I'm nervous, but I'm excited. You know, when you're walking into something new, into a new season of your life, it is nervous. You know, you will have the nerves because you're on the ground floor of something new. But, uh, my— one of my business coaches, not the one that just left, I have another one, he said, April, when you told me about this at the beginning of the year, He said, I knew. He said, that's it. He said, Code Red. He said, that's your thing. I'm coming to Atlanta November 2nd with Dr. Bobby and Stephan Speaks on November 2nd. Those are also the two days— I mean, the day that I released both of my books, Her Invisible Value and His Invisible Value. So that's when I'll be in Atlanta on the 2nd, uh, at the Time for Change Tour. You can go to, uh, Dr. Bobby Price's website site and get your tickets. All right, so let me, let me go. Thank you guys for talking with me and getting me comfortable, um, with this setup, because the lights, cameras, action— yo, I'm used to just going live with my little phone right here, um, but this is new. This is elevation. We got a camera here, camera there, got the little doodads, got the little, you the little deck, the little stream deck. Just hit the button, he just set it up and pushed this button to go up here. I feel like I'm on the radio station, child. Uh, no, I'm not coming to Philly. I don't have anything for Philly as of right now. Right now it's New York, DC, Atlanta, and it looked like Bobby put me on to Miami, but I don't think I'll be able to make Miami this month because I have a busy, um, September. But those are— I do know. And then that's Dr. Bobby Price and Stephan Speaks tour. And then I'll be doing my one event, um, Code Red. If you do something up north, then it might help to do this before winter hits. Yeah, they were telling me winter hits up north more so in January and February instead of December. Is that true? Um, is it true? Because in order for me to do Code Red, I have to have promo time. September is already here, um, and I'm not sure if I could pull it off before, you know, November. Oh, hey, Candace, you still listening? See, I've been talking, I've been talking, and I'm getting comfortable in my seat. Y'all like my chair? I was thinking about getting another chair, but I think this chair will work. I think this chair will work. Maybe if I get a purple fluffy one I don't know, but I think I like this chair. I think based upon how everything is set up, and when we put the TV back here, I think this chair would do good because I was thinking about getting this big pretty chair, you know. Miss April, I stopped listening to these social media streets messages about relationship. I don't want any, uh, charity cases. Church ladies are taught femininity. I had to learn that the hard way. Church women aren't taught femininity. No. No, there are not. They are not. Um, uh, true. Okay, so, uh, Miss Michigan, is it true that you guys get your hard-hitting winter months, winter snows in January and February? Okay, you said— and Tanya said white brings it out. Okay, because I— y'all look, y'all know what this is? Want to tell you what it is, child? Found this little rug. I found this little rug, child, at Rose and I put it over my chair. Y'all pulling up at the airport right now? Oh my God, that was quick. And were you— was Aunt speeding? Was that speeding? Yeah, I mean, yeah, I, I am in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I'm in, I'm in the Northwest Ohio, so I'm between Cleveland and Pittsburgh now. I moved here last year. So, but I, yeah, I, um, I'm learning the area. Um, a chair with nail trim. So I, I saw this pretty chair that one of my friends had, but it's a bigger chair. Um, but I may end up getting a different chair. I don't know yet, but I don't want to be— I don't want to do too much. I don't want to take the focus off of the messages that we will be we're just, you know, discussing. Oh, hey Trina! Hey girl! So yeah, Trina know Detroit. Detroit. So, so Trina, um, do you think Detroit would be a good area for a Code Red? Because you know I'm gonna pull on you, child. You know I'm gonna pull on you. Um, for in December, like the top, the top of December? No, he was not speeding, just moving forward. That means he was speeding, child. Don't be trying. So yeah, so I'll definitely, um, look into the Detroit area. I've never done anything in Detroit. It would definitely be a new space for me. Um, look at La South. Yeah, you know, I gotta put my glasses on. The South Theater. Look, rain. That's rain right now sending me a theater. Uh, the fur on the chair doesn't match the scenery in my opinion. What makes it not match? It actually— like, I like what the lady said before. It gives it a pop of— it makes it pop out. Everything is not blended. So I actually like that, but I don't know. Uh, please, we need you here in Detroit. You got the best for less. You get the best for less. That, that's good. Like you say, it's about the message, not the chair. Okay, um, okay, so plant rate is going to send you something. She already did theater rental. Trina wanted me to share this with you. Okay, and then I have a nonprofit, so we might get a— we might be able to get a deal. Theater rentals. Let's see what it— what does it cost, child? Let's go down to the payment. We got to go down to the— because I don't have a sponsor for this. This is my— this is me spending my own money to do this event. And just the Lord got it on me, on my heart to do, and I've been holding out and I haven't been— I haven't been being obedient, child. So, um, I have to do it. This is not an April trying to do, this is April must do. Okay, so I'll reach out. I, I have— we have to reach out to them to see what it would cost, what the, what the rental fee is. Okay, Crystal said Detroit is fine in December. April, it's cold. I have a coat. I have to buy a coat. I'm in Texas, but that's my hometown, and I'm willing to buy a whole winter outfit to come home and see you in January. It would be in February. I mean, it would be in December, but the fact that you ready to do that, Thank you so much. It's $2,000 for all day and it holds 400 people. Girl, what? $2,000 all day? Wait a minute, hold on, I didn't get to see your message. What's $2,000 all day? Hold on, let me, let me see who you— who did you write in here? Now then, my kind of prices, honey. What's the name of the place, Kim? Um, she said the background is giving tropical vibes, the fur is giving winter. I'd love a white chair. Okay, thank you for that suggestion. Yeah, uh, Miss Kim, what's $2,000 for the day? Oh, it holds 400 people. Okay. Yeah, what's, what's, what's $2,000? Listen, y'all know I'm on a fixed income. That's a good place. I didn't hear what she said. I didn't hear, uh, I didn't see what she wrote. Um, oh, LaSalle Theater. Okay, and that's where, in Detroit? Let's see. Oh, in Cleveland. That's Cleveland? Ariel LaSalle Theater. Is that what— is that what you're talking about? Okay, I see it here in, um, in Cleveland. Okay, perfect. It's in Cleveland. Okay, child, listen, honey. They said on Saturdays it's $3,500. That's what I'm talking about. Come through, fixed income. That's right, Miss Stander. Y'all know I'm on a fixed income, child. I gotta— I wonder if we have to do ticket through them. Oh, then they have the theater stage lighting, the projectors. Okay, I may have to, uh, when I come back from LA I may have to come up here, um, go in there, go in there and see it. I'm excited. Let me know if you need me to come up there and help. Yeah, I'm letting you know already. Yep, yep. I mean, I need my girls. I need my little song. Yeah, I'm gonna need Rain. I'm gonna need Trina. I need my girls. Um, why did I move to Ohio? Um, actually, I'll tell you guys the story now. My Instagram people know the story because Instagram was just easier for me in this season to stay connected than Facebook and Instagram, because for some reason I couldn't go live on Instagram— I mean Facebook— a lot on my phone. Um, hold on, would you consider a church? No. Um, this message is— this message, I don't know. I just— I want to be— I want to be free to express and say what I need to say to my ladies, to my girls. But to answer the question for my, my YouTubers and my Facebook folks that didn't realize that I've Um, I came to visit family here looking for investment property, and I didn't know the cost of living up here was so cheap. So honey, listen, I was looking for an investment property. I saw one for like $60,000. It was like a 3-bedroom, 1-bath. Like, when people say, you know, everything is so expensive, child, you gotta, you gotta move where, where, uh you can afford, especially if you have a remote job that where you can be anywhere. Um, so where the music coming from? Y'all hear music? Somebody playing Let the Slot— Let the Sideshow Begin. Oh, that must be outside, child. But I moved here, I was living in Atlanta, I was living directly across the street from the Fox Theater. And I was having a good time on the 22nd floor. Then I came down to the 3rd floor because I did that— me and that height. When my grandkids would come over, it just would make me feel, um, you know, uneasy if, if I took a nap and they woke up before I did and they opened up the balcony and they went outside. I just didn't. So it was time for me to leave Atlanta. I just— I, being a spiritual woman, I understand when it's time for me to to move. Um, I don't have to have the rug pulled from up under me for me to move, because when my spirit says it's time, it's time. Been in Atlanta 20 years. Atlanta has been good to me. I love what Atlanta represents, and I love what I was able to do there. However, I believe me moving to the Midwest plays a part in healing my nervous system. Allowing me to have the quality of life that I like. I don't like a lot of traffic. I'm never in traffic. Everything— my doctor, my dentist, my restaurant, and everything that I do pretty much is 6 minutes away or less. Uh, no, there's not a lot of amenities like I'm accustomed to. However, there is peace, and it's, and it's affordable. For those of you that don't know, I told the story on Facebook and Instagram, but I, I'll let you know, and I'll, I'll probably do a, um, where I've been or whatever you call it, a catch-up video, but I paid cash for my house. And that was a really great feeling for me, being— for those of you that know my story, I was homeless. I lived in the shelter with my kids, all of that, living on, sleeping on folks' floors. So to be able to buy a home cash and only have the taxes to pay, I feel like I gave myself— I put myself in a position to even start the healing of my nervous system because I don't have to be running and hustling and grinding. And y'all see, I don't really do events. I don't have a lot of sales. I'm not selling y'all all the time because I got bills to pay. No. When I'm led to do a thing, I do a thing. But it's never, she out here just trying to take everybody money. No. What I did was I made my business around my lifestyle, not my lifestyle around my business. Because I have several family businesses. My daughter and son-in-law, they run a portion of a couple of the family businesses. And then I run the rest. But when I came to visit, it was, "Hmm, this is different." And visiting family, and I've lived in Ohio before. When I was acting up, when I was back home in California, when I was 18, my parents sent me here to go live with my aunt and uncle, who was the pastor's child, 'cause they thought it was gonna save me from getting in trouble and being fast. But this is where I got pregnant and had my children. So, I tell my kids, "Stop acting up." Stop lying, telling everybody you from California. I'm from California. You from Ohio. That's what's on your birth certificate. So, but I left, you know, after my children were born. So I was only here for like 6 years because all my kids are 2 years apart. Well, I came back and although there's nothing to do, everything closes early. Child, the people here like 15 years behind. And all the men drive Ford F-150s where I live, in the suburbs where I live. But I have peace of mind, you know. And I believe I'm in a place where my body can heal. Um, I am not running around. I'm not in traffic all the time. When my employees need something at the restaurant, like if I was in Atlanta, it would take me all day to get through traffic to go get what they need. Now I can just go up the street and get what they need, bring it back in a matter of 16 minutes or Yes. So it's the quality of life for me. I never thought I would be here. I also think I am here to test out my concept to see if my Christmas Cafe is franchisable. I believe that too. So I don't have all of the answers and I'm not trying to figure it out. However, I am just going day by day to see what happens. So that's how I got to Ohio. So, last year, I bought my house in May, no, in March, and I officially relocated in May, but I didn't get settled in until November. So, that's how. So, it's a great feeling, ooh, to be, so I gotta, I mean, I gotta watch my hands, 'cause y'all know I talk with my hands. So, all of this that we doing right now, y'all are helping me get comfortable. With this. But I just really feel like this is where I'm supposed to be in this season. Do I believe I'll be here forever? No. I don't believe I'll be here forever. But right now, it's good for my nervous system. It's good for my nervous system. I will say the downside, though, is I have to build my tribe. I have to— I'll leave and go to Pittsburgh or Cleveland, um, to get a little bit more city life because there's no city life around here. But even with that, I'm okay with it. So I hope that answers your questions. Now that's all I have. For Kantis, have a safe flight, my love. Uh, thank you all for going through this test with me, and get ready for the feminine ear a show dedicated for men to give them a platform to ask whatever questions they want to ask. Uh, Eastern Market has a nice village. I'm not sure what's Eastern Market. I grew up in church. I learned femininity from you, Miss April. Thank you so much. I wasn't taught it either, but I hope that I can help the ladies in church really bridge the gap to see where the disconnect has come from and to reclaim what's rightfully theirs. All right, love y'all. Thank y'all so much. Bye.
More from April
