Who controls your feelings?

April Mason argues you control your feelings by choosing your thoughts. She shares stories from her son, a divorcing friend, and her own past with homelessness and abuse to show how shifting your mindset reshapes outcomes. She offers three online courses for $47 total, emphasizing that transformation requires daily practice and visualizing what you want before it arrives.

Hello there, darlings. Happy Tuesday to you. Hey Patricia, I've been following your story, girl. I've been watching you. I, I, I Facebook stalk some of y'all and y'all don't even know it. 'Cause I hear what you say you want, but I have to see if you really want it. So I kind of look at what you're doing. You may not know, but understand I'm always watching. Oh, hold on, my food, my food, my food, my food. Wait a second. Okay, I'm making, I'm making homemade chili today, y'all, in the kitchen, making homemade chili. And I had to get flowers. I'm a flowers girl. So today's flowers are carnations, white pink and like a little fuchsia. So I'm sitting here getting ready to put them in, in the water, and I'm making some homemade chili at the same time, some vegan chili. I'm trying to do better, y'all. So, uh, but I had a taste for some, for some chili and some cornbread today. Anybody know about that? So that's what I'm having. But listen, I want to give you a little inspiration today, a little inspiration today about feelings, about your feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings. Feelings. One of the things that I've learned along my journey is you control your feelings. And I know a lot of people say, well, I woke up and I feel this way. I don't feel— I'm not gonna feel like myself today. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, um, you know, today. Um, and so you allow your feelings to dictate your day, or you don't take control of your feelings. You're supposed to run your feelings. Not your feelings run you. So my son said something, he's 19 now, but when he was 16 he said something to me that continued to stick with me. He says, Mom, most people that are depressed— now we're not talking about clinical depression, but we're talking about people that are just, you know, I feel depressed, you know, I feel sad, I feel bad, I don't feel loved, I don't feel, um, appreciated, that all those kind of things. He said, Ma, you do know that if you change what you're thinking, it will change how your mood— I said, you're absolutely correct, son. What you think controls how you feel, and it controls your mood, and it controls your mood. And when you understand that, you will take the reins on what you are thinking. Do thoughts come to mind? Absolutely. You know, thoughts, thousands and millions of thoughts will come to your mind every day. However, you have to consciously decide what you are going to dwell on, what you're going to think about. And if you feel like it's going to be a bad day, it is. If you feel like it's going— all hell is going to break loose, it is. I was with a friend the other day and we were having a conversation and he's going through a divorce. And we were talking and he says, April, I know I'm, I have a, I'm headed for uphill storm. And I looked at him, I said, darling, why, why are you preparing for a storm? The storm doesn't have to come. You don't have to prepare for bad stuff to happen. I said, how about let's prepare that and believe that, you know what, this is going to be a smooth transition. What, what we've done is we've allowed ourselves to feel everything that life sends our way. And so instead of preparing for the opposite, we prepare for what life has thrown, thrown us, not understanding you can actually change the way that the situation goes by changing your perspective on it. There's been so many times that I would think that something bad was going to happen, or I would impose my feelings, uh, because it's easier to feel negative a lot of times than it is to feel positive. So I would impose, um, my own feelings on a situation and create the outcome based upon what it normally is. Well, to me, facts can be changed. The way you feel can be changed. What they say and their theory can be changed. You have to ask yourself, am I in control of my feelings, or are my feelings in control of me? Do you get up in the morning and decide specifically how you're going to feel, or do you wake up and however your mood is, you just ride with it? Now, I have my days, y'all. You know, I don't— I'm not on 10 all the time. I'm not all motivated and stuff all the time. Sometimes I just want to feel blah. And sometimes I allow myself to do that, but only for a certain amount of time. And then I'll say, April, girl, quit playing. You already know that you create your own reality. And how do you create your own reality? It starts by how you feel every single day. It starts by how you respond, not react, to situations that come up. So as I was telling him, I said, darling, you don't have to prepare for a storm. You know that, right? You could hear all of the negative things or all of the things that's being said that, that are supposed to happen. But you can hear it, but you don't have to receive it. You can actually give it back, you know. I'm like, I don't want that, I'm gonna give that back, okay? I don't, I don't want to accept that. And so many times we accept so much stuff that we're no longer in control. I always tell you guys, if you want to love again, you're in control of that. Anytime you put in that, yeah, April, but there aren't enough men out here, but the statistics, you know, the standards and the facts say that all these men are in jail, or these men aren't educated, or these men are— man, I don't want to hear that. I don't abide by that. I don't live by that. So when you impose your feelings on something that somebody else— a standard that somebody else set for you— you're actually giving them control, and you're living your life by the standard that somebody else has set. I don't live my life by that. And I had to learn to stop living with the lack mentality. When you live with the lack mentality, everything else will control you in your actions versus you creating the life that you want to live. When I decided to create the life for me, I had to let go of all my old belief systems, and I gotta say that it was not easy. I had to learn how to change the way that I think, um, in order to manifest the life that I wanted. Even my dating life switched out when I changed my mind, when I stopped feeding into, girl, you live in Atlanta, girl, ain't no single men in Atlanta, or they DL, or, or they play games. I don't experience that because that's not my reality, because I didn't focus on what you're going through now in your life. Whatever you're going through right now, it's not happening to you. You actually invited it in. And I talked to you guys about this, um, before. I go deeper in my course Manifest, how to change the way that you think in order to manifest the love, life, and abundance that you want. If you don't have it, we have not reached our 500 because, you know, it's— you get 3 courses for $47. So you can go to 47.aprilmason.com, and I'm going to go really deep into the Manifest course of how to change the way that you think. And I'm telling you right now, is it easy? Absolutely not. It's not easy. Can it be done? Absolutely it can. If this is— if you're looking, if you've purchased the course, are you getting ready to get it? Um, it comes out on— in 10 days, at 10 days, it comes out on the 17th. I'm going to tell you right now, it's not for those that are looking for an immediate, uh— I won't say immediate, I'll say, uh, magic. Dude, say this, do this, do this, take 2 steps forward, 5 steps back, and boom, it's gonna happen. No, it's going to take repetition. It's going to take you being responsible for you. Nobody's responsible for you but you. All I can do is provide you with the tools. Now, what you do with the tools It's up to you. So you can go to 47.aprilmason.com and get Manifest. Um, it's called Manifest, how to change the way that you think in order to manifest the life, love, and abundance that you want. Course number 2 that you'll get is the Feminine CEO, how to use your feminine energy and to tap into your creativity, creativity to skyrocket your income. Because you guys are always asking me, April, you know, I'm a single mom, I don't, I don't know how I'm gonna make it. Because you're not tapped into your feminine energy. When you tap into your feminine energy, your creativity soars. When I tell y'all, my creativity is on 10, to the point I'm like, this is too much stuff coming at one time. Can I do all of this? Can I do all of this? But even this morning, I, you know, I was like, okay God, I, I, my folks, I need to keep bringing them stuff because my mission is to help them change the way that they think and the way that they feel about themselves. So I need you to give me some, give me, give me some more stuff that I need that to pull out of me to talk about. And y'all, he gave me 3 new courses this morning that I'm coming out with right after, while Got After, Manifest, The Feminine CEO, and the last one is, um, How to Become a High Value Classy Woman. I can't wait to teach that one too. So once I tapped into me and I chose the way that I wanted to feel versus my feelings choosing me, I started tapping into so many different things, and I stopped running into what they call haters. I stopped running into men that weren't looking for anything. I stopped running into people who wanted to use me. I changed the way that I thought and felt, and it changed my reality. So today's inspiration is: are you thinking your feelings? Because whatever you feel is brought about by the thoughts that you're thinking. Okay, what's wrong with my little wig? Look, hold on, y'all. I might— I gotta add a little bit more water. I add a little bit more water to my little beans. I didn't do the beans in the can, y'all. I did the, I did the, the regular, the regular beans, the regular kidney beans for my, um, for my chili, honey. It's gonna be some, there's gonna be some good chili, darling. And turn this eye down some. Anywho. Feeling. That's your— that, that's, that's what I need you to get tapped into right now. How do you feel right at this moment? And if you don't like how you feel at this moment, you can choose to change. You might say, yeah, April, I understand and I hear everything that you're saying, but you don't understand what just happened. My husband just left me. My child support check ain't come through. I got 3-day notice on my door. I'm losing my job. I need some food in the house. My car broke down. I'm actually homeless at the moment. I don't have a job. Money is funny. Change is strange. I understand all that because I've been, I've been in every place that I just named. I understand it, but that still doesn't give you an excuse to feel bad about what's going on in your life. Because whatever you focus on the most is what you will continue to bring about the most. The more you talk about drama, the more you talk about, uh, everything that's going on, the more you have it. I was, I was speaking at an event and one of the ladies there, you know, beautiful woman, but she had gotten, um, her husband had threw acid all over her and she was burned up, you know, her face and her body. And I got up and I was the keynote and I spoke afterwards. She and I started talking and she says, I'm tired of telling this. She said something to the effect of, I'm, I'm ready to shift out. And I said, okay, I said, you're a speaker, you know, you're very well known. I've seen you on the news and all these other places, right? This is my suggestion to you. I understand that this happened to you. but now you have to change your narrative. You have to change the story. Everybody knew me when I came on the scene as a speaker as, that's the woman that started her first business with $50 from a welfare check, homeless with 3 kids. She dealt with molestation for 12 years, um, from her father and stepfather. She, uh, had low self-esteem. She's been divorced. Uh, she, uh, was homeless. She, she, uh, had low self-esteem, no confidence. She dealt with rape before. That was the story. People would book me all the time to tell that story, but I noticed that the more I told the story, the more I stayed in that place. So as I suggested to this lady, I said, change your story. Now, what happened to you happened to you, but you can change the story. You can change the way you deliver the story. You guys seldomly hear me talk about the negatives in my past the way that I used to. I'll reference it. So to make you guys understand, we on the same page. I get it, but I don't stay there, you know. I chose— chose to tell, um, a different story. And when you choose to tell a different story, you will see your life change when you change your story. So I'm not saying that— oh, I'm not saying what's happening, going on in your life right now is not going on. That's not what I'm saying. I'm telling you, I'm suggesting— I'm not telling, but I'm suggesting to you— oh, these smell so good— I'm suggesting to you that you change how you view it. Because the only reason why you continue to go through the same things all the time is because of what you're focused on. What you're going through right now, you invited it into your life. You sent an RSVP invitation to what you're going through right now. How did you say that, April? I didn't, I didn't ask for nobody to treat me wrong. I didn't ask nobody to use me. I didn't ask this restaurant to give me bad food. I didn't ask for this. How would I, why would you say that I invited it in my life? Because whatever you focus on is what you invite into your life. So if you're focusing on the fact that these men are going to treat you bad and what they, they do, that women, they, women like that don't exist, it'll never exist for you regardless of what your situation has been and your experience has been. It doesn't matter. You can choose to dwell on those experiences, or you can choose to create new experiences. And I decided to create new experiences. I decided to say, you know what, I'm not preparing for no doggone storm because there will be no storm. Okay, so I'm not even going to prepare for that. I'm going— I understand that life happens, but guess what? A lot of the stuff that happens in life is created by this right here. So if I'm already preparing for the worst, it leaves little to no room to prepare for the best. April, how do you prepare for the best? Change what you're thinking about. Change what you're thinking about. This past weekend, my new intern— I remember I heard her— some of y'all might have seen the video, I went live. But my new intern, um, I remember when we first started talking, um, and I was— we were interviewing and all of that, I heard her say that she wanted to be married. And so you can't be around me or work with me, for me, and, and, you know, I'm not jumping to action. I can't help it. It's just a part of who I am. So I heard her say it. She's been with me now for about a month. Yeah, maybe a little bit. Yeah, about a month. So I saw that they were having a bridal show here in, um, in Atlanta. So I got tickets and I asked her last week, I said, hey, what are you doing Sunday? She said, I'm free. Okay, got somewhere I want you to go with me. I said, it's a bridal show. So when I got there, I said, hey, you said you wanted to be married. That's what you said, right? She said, yeah, but you said the same thing. I said, but this is not about me right now. This is about you. I'm making this, this adventure about you. So we went, we got there, and my whole goal for doing this was for to get her in, get to her in her feelings of feeling what it would feel like to be preparing to be a bride. That was the whole goal. So we got there, we walk up, they say, well, who's the bride? She looks at me, I look at her, I said, she's the bride, because I'm already manifested, y'all. I don't— I'm good, I'm good. I said, appreciate you thinking about me, but your girl, she good. This is for you, this is an experience for you. And so they put on her, um, this, this little sticker that said Bride to Be or something like that, or I'm the Bride. Aren't these pretty, y'all? Aren't these kind of pretty? Um, so we walk around tasting food and cake and all of that, and I said, you go sign up for everything. You put your little name in there to bring you and your husband a honeymoon. So she was like, they were asking when the date— I said, when is, when is your wedding day? And recently she took a test on Facebook and it said she'd be married on January 15th, which is— I think it happened to be around her birthday. So the whole time we were there, we said her wedding was the 15th of January. Once again, my goal was to get her in the feeling of what it is that she wanted versus looking at, well, I ain't even really dating nobody right now. That's not, that's not your problem. Your, your only job is to act as though you already have it. So if you were already engaged, what would you be doing? We will be here anyway. So let's keep it moving. So we walking around and, uh, tasting and, and, and signing up for stuff. And, um, every time anybody would ask me, you know, what about you? I'm like, oh no, this is her. I said, I'll be married soon, don't worry about me, this is for her. Um, and so I made the experience all about her because I understand that what you make happen for others Come on now, y'all know the rest. So we went around and I asked her at the end, I said, well, how do you feel? She's like, thank you so much, Ms. April, you know, for bringing me out. I said, I needed you to be in the midst of what it is that you say you want. My former assistant, she had never been to Phipps Plaza, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta. This is a few years back. So I said, let me show you the difference. So I have a habit of taking people that work with me to show them different experiences. Because I need them to understand this is possible for you. This is what I live. So if you're gonna be around me, you gotta get with it. Okay? So the goal was— the mission was accomplished to get her into the feeling of what it is that she wanted. So if you wake up every day and your feelings are— you feeling some sort of way, take your behind back to bed. If you can't go back to bed, look yourself in the mirror and say, I choose to feel happy. I choose to understand and know that the situation that I'm in right now is already handled. And then you go act as though it's already handled. Like I said, I go deeper into, um, deeper into this in the Manifest course, which comes out on the 17th. Yeah, some of y'all say I'm waiting, y'all, y'all counting down. I can't wait, I can't wait to share, um, this with you. If you don't have it, Go to 47.aprilmason.com after this, after it's released. Once we get to the 500 or right before or the day that it releases, each course will be $97 apiece. Right now you can get all 3 for $47 until— either up until we reach our 500. I haven't reached our 500 yet, or when it releases on the 17th. After that, they'll be $97 for each course. And this is some of my good stuff, y'all. If you think I bring the free stuff that I give you is good, just imagine what the other stuff is going to be. It allows me to go more in depth and more— give you more of a structure of each step that you need to take. But like I said, in the Manifest course, it's not about making, uh, magic. It is not about taking like a diet pill trying to, uh, lose weight, uh, in 48 hours. It took you longer than 48 hours to put on the extra pounds, so it's going to take petition. It's going to take you making a solid decision. I always teach you guys, it's all about the choices that you make. When you make the choice to say no more, when living in lack is not an option anymore, when being without a relationship or being in a loving, committed marriage is no longer, you know, it's the option to not have it, that's when you see things change in your life. To, to know that, you know what, I refuse to live the rest of my life like this. It's not an option. Being great is mandatory. It's not an option. Knowing that I'm not— that I'm enough, it's not— I think it's not an option. I'm enough. Feeling that and knowing that I'm worthy, it's not an option to be anything less than that. Once you get to that mindset, you start seeing things manifest in your life like clockwork. And you know what I've realized on my journey? To manifesting things I want in my life, it really don't take long. What actually takes long is the way that you feel about what's going on around you, how you react to situations, and you don't believe that you can have an actually good life. My good friend Jack Daniels called me this morning. He checks on me because I moved to the neighborhood. I moved to the neighborhood. So he called to check. Hey sis, you've been over here about a month now. How you liking it? And I told him, I said, Jack, honestly, everything in my life is going good. I don't have any complaints. And here's the thing, and I'm gonna go deeper into this part in the course, but I'll give you this part. When things are going good in your life, most people create the feeling of, I can't have— I can't be on a steady roll of good. Once you start doing good, something bad is bound to happen. I need you to get that kind of thinking out your mind. Why can't it be good all the time? Didn't say you wouldn't have challenges and things, but why are you preparing for the bad to happen? And that's what most people do. The good is happening, hey, relationship is going well, but then all of a sudden here come that That voice tapping you on the shoulder. I wonder what he doing. I wonder if he really like me, or— and I wonder if that's really, um, I wonder if that's, uh, you know, his type. I wonder, you know, if he would go with her instead of me. I wonder if he really like me the way he say he does. I wonder if he playing games. I wonder if she really likes me, or she really feeling all of that. I wonder if my business is really— people gonna really buy from me. I wonder, you know, if people really respect what I say and do. I wonder, I wonder. I'm just saying, you have to change that. Where can I get the course? You can get the course here. I'll post it right now, um, on this video and make sure you get it. It's 47.aprilmason.com. It's $47 for the 3 courses. Fellas, you can get the course too. It's for the manifest. I know the other two are not more geared toward the women, but you can get it as well. Um, you can get it as well too. Um, so let's see. My friends are so funny. Let's see, let me, let me post it for you right now while I'm here. But you can change your own reality, like When I decided to really change the way that I felt, and even on the days like this morning, I didn't— I was like, okay, April, you had a very— I had a very interesting weekend. It was actually pretty good, actually. It was really good. But I woke up this morning, it was raining, it was, you know, gloomy. But I decided to put on something motivational and list and, uh, okay, can I post it? It. Let's see, there we go. I just posted it, uh, I just posted it. There we go, you should be able to see the link there. But I decided to change the way that I felt, so got my weekly flowers, my weekly flowers, and I got carnations today. Decided to make some dinner, make my dinner early. It's just me, I'm learning how to cook in smaller quantities, y'all, because I'm used to cooking for myself and my three babies and my grandbaby. Oh, and I became an aunt yesterday. I became an auntie again yesterday. My sister had a baby, my sister and her husband. So I got to— I was telling you, I told Jack everything in my life is good. But that's what I was getting back to before you— I answered that question. When he called to check on me, I said, Jack, I can't complain, everything in my life is good. He said, it's exactly how it's supposed to be. He said, it sounds like you're right on track. He's like, how's the dating life? I said, actually, my dating life is really good. I said, it's actually really good, and I'm not in an anxious place. I'm in a, I'm in a position to make choices because I understand, um, what it is that I want, um, at this point in my life. And I'm looking for— I'm, I'm attracting my purpose mate, not just a mate. And, uh, just so y'all know, hint, hint, hint, one of the next set of courses is called purpose mate. And I'm gonna go in hard on what it actually means to desire a purpose mate versus a mate. Judy says, can't wait for the 17th, already enrolled in the 3-course package and looking forward to it. Good, good teach— good teach— teaching, and I'm ready to start. Absolutely. And for those of you that have asked, uh, I did the Teach Me How to Date 2 weeks ago, and some of you guys were emailing and inboxing April, Can we get the Teach Me How to Date? You will be able to get the Teach Me How to Date course that I did. It was a 4+ hour course that I taught live, um, online, uh, 2 weeks ago. So you'll be able to get that as this week, and I'll make, uh, we're doing some edits and, and, and getting things together, making it all look professional and everything like that. And so you'll be able to get that one as well, and it's also a part of my affordable course series because that's where I am right now. I'm in the— I'm in my feminine energy and I said, God, I really want to help the people that you put me before. How can— how can I help them but not make it too expensive but let them understand that it's all about investing in yourself? And he gave me what to do. I said, that's what I'm gonna do because I started my business with $50 from a welfare check. Which was an investment and it was a sacrifice for me. So I said, people that want to change, they're going to invest in it. If I keep creating, if I keep creating, creating, creating for you. And right now, y'all, I gotta say this, ladies, and this will be a part of the, um, part of the feminine series, the Feminine CEO. I am so in my feminine place. Like, when I tell you idea after idea after idea after idea after idea keeps coming, it's like I wish I would have got to this a lot earlier. It's only when you get into that feeling place and change the way that you feel that you start to create. So I am in that create space right now. I keep beautiful things around me all the time. I keep myself around amazing people. And like I told you guys, the inspiration for today is change how you feel about the situations that are going on in your life right now. You can change. Lori said, I can't wait to get mine. Girl, I can't wait to give it to you, girl, because it's going to be really, uh, actually, I gotta say, I'm proud of myself. I really am, because of where I've come from. And some of you have been with me since my MySpace days, since my Black Voices, Black Planet days, and you've watched, um, the growth. And I really appreciate you guys for being there, um, with me all throughout this journey, all of this time. And I, you know, I've learned to pat myself on the back and say, girl, you smart. Girl, you know how to— you, you, you in— I'm in my zone. I'm in my flowy zone. It's been a month that I've been an empty nester now, and I'm just amazed at it, you know. I'm amazed at how things are happening. April, will you be recreating the femininity course? No, I won't, but I won't be recreating the femininity course um, anytime soon, but I will be adding to it. So if you— that's the introductory course. So if you don't have the introductory course to, um, The Power of Femininity, um, you can go to AprilStore.aprilmason.com and download that. It's a 4-part series and they got workbooks and worksheets and all of that. So I always advise women, you know, get in, get that course, and then I have a whole lot of other ones coming. So I'm excited, totally excited about that. But that's pretty much all I have for you today. Change the way that you feel and it will change the outcome of the situations. Stop preparing— matter of fact, well, I'm not going to say that, but stop preparing for the storm, okay? Stop looking at your situation and saying, normally in situations like these This is normally the result. What I want you to say is, I see this doggone situation, I see the storm coming. However, it's not going to be a storm or a tsunami or anything else. I'm from California, no earthquakes, no earthquakes. I'm choosing to prepare myself for how I want my life to be. Period. There is no storm. We've been made to believe that all hell has to always break loose, so we continue to prepare for the hell. I don't prepare for no hell no more because just because you're on a row— I mean, a you're on a stream of good things happening, it doesn't mean it has to be blocked by something bad. The only reason why the bad comes is because you're expecting the bad to come. That's the only reason why. So it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. See, I knew it. I knew I was on that— I knew it was on a good luck streak. I knew I was just— but guess what? You were anticipating and you were waiting on the bad to happen. So of course What did I just teach you? What you're going through now is not happening to you. You sent out an RSVP invitation and invited it in, because whatever you focus on the most is what will happen. It's what will happen. Absolutely, Patricia, there is no storm I prepare for abundance. Absolutely. Prepare for abundance. Prepare for happiness. Prepare for good health. Prepare for love. Prepare for prosperity. Prepare for success. Too many people prepare for the other stuff. I had to learn that, y'all. Look, I was crazy a little bit. I would prepare in my relationships in the past. I would have imagined us arguing because I was so accustomed to that. I would, I would, I could tell you off in my mind, I could prepare. Okay, if he say this, I'm about to go in and I'm about to do, I'm about to do that, right? And it would happen. But guess what? Everything in life is created twice. Let me say that again. Everything in life is created twice. It's created out of the mind first, and then it manifests, because whatever you think about and focus on is what you create. So I had to learn, April. First, I had to ask myself, why is it that you know how to let a fool know, let this joker have it? So good. How come you know that so well? Because of experience and because I have continued to practice it because I didn't want to get hurt anymore. So I'm gonna get you shortly before you get me. This is just what this is gonna be. So I, I had, I had my defenses already prepared. I had what I was going to say, how I was going to say it, what I'll be looking like and all of that. You know what I tell people? I'm, I was raised hood, and there's still a little hood in me. I'm just refined hood. I grew up in Richmond, California, for those that know the Richmond, Bay Area, Oakland area. Yeah, that's where I'm from. I'm just a little refined hood, and I have to keep the hood under subjection, okay? But I've learned to let a person have it without having to go hood. So I'm refined hood is what I am. But I knew how to create arguments in my brain. I knew how to create bad situations. I knew how to create, oh my God, what would happen if my kid get hit by a car? My kid didn't get hit by a car. I'm sitting there crying like, oh my God, my child got hit. I didn't— I created that. I was good at mastering negative thoughts. I— that's why I talk to you guys about changing the way you think so much, because I understand the impact that it's had on me. I was great at creating poverty in my life. I was great at creating relationships that did not work because I was the one inviting them into my life. Everybody had an RSVP invitation. I was inviting them in by what I was thinking. And when I understood, April, wait a minute, if you can feel the negative and create the negative outcome. Let's try to do something a little different. It took some work, I'm not gonna lie, it took some work, but I finally did it. Am I perfect at it? Not all the time, because sometimes I want to feel, um, sometimes I want to feel— I have a friend of mine, give me 24 hours, uh, well, a couple friends of mine, they say We're gonna give you 24 hours to be in your feelings because I also understand the importance of grieving behind certain situations, certain things. I understand that, you know, it's okay. Sometimes we try to move out of the, uh, feeling of it, and I say you can feel the good, but also when things happen, it's okay to sit there briefly and feel it, embrace it, understand it. Because what I've also learned is when you don't feel, you end up having some type of breakdown. And all the years that you did not grieve behind situations or feel them— because as women, what do they say? Oh girl, ain't got time for that. Ain't got time to grieve behind this because I gotta go, I gotta feed these kids, I gotta go make this money, I gotta go do this, that, and the third. So we just keep putting years and years and years and years of years of, of things that we did not grieve about, or we didn't allow ourselves to feel in the moment. We put so much of that on us, and it's almost like we become immune to feelings. And then you wonder why when you meet someone, you have a hard time feeling in the relationship, because you're not practiced feeling. Now, I've learned to allow myself to feel. I've learned to also tell people, I don't like how you make me feel. And I could be a little brat sometimes, but I know that that's science. It's not a bad brat, it's a 'I don't like how you make me feel' type of brat. But I've allowed myself to be there, and sometimes we don't, we don't allow ourselves to feel things. That's so pretty. Look, see, I'm gonna put this in my hair, y'all. I'm gonna put this in my hair somewhere. You know, I like— I like— I love flowers. Look like a little señorita. But feel— I want you to feel. I want you to feel the good. I want you to feel bad. But when it comes to the bad, I don't want you to stay there. I want you to feel it, embrace it. Okay, this is what happened. This is what they did. This is what they said. I lost my job. You know, I'm going through a divorce. I feel it. Okay, it is what it is, but I understand that at this point I can feel and create the life that I'm gonna have now, even though it's not here. I can do that. And the more you function in where you want to be, the more you'll manifest it in your life. So I love you guys. I gotta get back to cooking my dinner, my, um, my chili. Look, y'all, I'm— I like spicy stuff, so I'm making some homemade chili I'm cheating on the cornbread though, y'all. I'm cheating. I got, um, oh, pillow. I'm cheating on the cornbread, so I got a little Jiffy today, but I got my little chili powder and my little red peppers and my bell pepper. I'm getting ready to really get down in here. I'm cooking, I'm cooking for me, you know. I'm learning to not cook so much and just cook for one, maybe two. And I'm enjoying myself, and I'll get back to work once I finish putting my— cutting the stems of my flowers so I can put them in the water. I love flowers. Like, one way to my heart is to send me flowers every week. That, that means, that means a lot to me because I love flowers. So anywho, no, I'm not going to ramble any longer. That's all I have for you. Learn how to feel and create the life you want through your feelings. So when you wake up, or even if you're listening to me right now and you're not feeling your best, start thinking about the situation that you're in now and the outcome that you want. The very thing that's making you feel bad, I need you to think about 5 amazing things, good things that you want to happen in this situation and act as though they're already there, okay? Doesn't matter if you don't have your rent money. I need you to act as though you got it. Be like, oh yeah, let me go down here and pay this rent. You might not have it, so act as though you do. And if you guys watched my video last week, I talked about when I went and got my new mattress, and some of y'all said, oh, you playing games. No, I'm I didn't play games. I started practicing because I went to get my mattress. I was getting ready to buy it, but I got into a habit of, hold on, let me go outside and call daddy to make sure it's okay for me to purchase this. A lot of folks was like, that's playing games. I'm not all about pretending. It's not necessarily pretending. What it is, it's preparing. There's a difference between pretending. You pretend— my grandbaby pretend, and, uh, Santa Claus ain't coming out the sky, you know, we know that, but I let her pretend. But now preparing for what's to come is totally different. So get yourself into the habit of preparing for what you want, even when the situation looks bleak and it looks bad. I want you to act as though it's already turned out the way that you want it to turn out. But if you spend more time, I promise you, if you spend more time preparing for the storm, preparing for the bad, that's exactly what you're going to get. And so one last thing, a lot of people prepare for the bad because they want to tell them old same sob sob stories to other people because they want to be able to have that same conversation with those around them. Girl, I know, honey. Girl, I know when I went through my divorce, honey. Dudes be like, you know what, dawg, man, when she did this, man, I know what you mean. I don't like to know what you mean when it's negative. I don't want to have that same conversation. Well, my situation didn't turn out that way. Didn't. So I understand that that's normally how it turns out, but I chose to feel something different. So don't put yourself in a situation where you can have that same story that for everybody else. So you, so all y'all can sit back and talk about all of the whackness going on in your life. Well, nobody want to have that conversation. Get you some friends, some people around you that can give you a different outcome. Absolutely. Lori, misery loves company. I don't, I don't do that. I stay by myself majority of the time because my peace, is so important to me. I don't need everybody else's drama. Now, will I sometimes, you know, give advice if asked? Yes, but I've learned not to interject my opinion in everything because when you start interjecting your opinion in everything, they're going to constantly keep coming to you asking you your opinion and it's going to weigh you down. Next thing you know, you're drained. And when you're a person like me that gives so much, it's very difficult for people to pour back into you on the level that you give out. So I've learned to reserve my energy, and I'm what's considered an empath, empathic type of person. So I feel what others feel. So I've learned how to not drain myself and not feel everything. So how do you do that? I keep myself away from negative situations as much as I possibly can, unless it's something that, you know, it's a friend and then going through some things, and, and I'll still let them figure it out. But you ask me, I'll give you my, uh, my, my opinion if you ask. So love you guys. Go to 47.aprilmason.com, 47.aprilmason.com. And I need you to feel however you feeling right now about a situation, flip it, turn it around, because you are in control of your feelings And your feelings should not be in control of you, especially when it's connected to somebody else. I refuse to let somebody, um, have that much power. You don't know how much power over me where you can alter my day. I'm not letting you do that because I choose— I choose what I allow you— how I allow you to affect me. I choose that. Even if I say you hurt my feelings, I'm choosing to allow what you said or did to hurt my feelings. I could choose not to allow that, my feelings. But of course, you know, we're human, we have feelings, and certain things might prick us a certain way. But it's all about how you respond to it. So love you guys, have a great day.
