What's good, y'all? So today's video is how to be an overall athletic specimen even as you age in your 30s, 40s, and even 50s, you feel me? Yes, you can still keep your athletic edge as you age. I have a bunch of clients who are still very athletic in your old age. I mean, well, that's technically a man's physical prime if I'm being real with you, you know what I'm saying? We're talking about a good 30s and 40s and all that, you feel me? But yeah, man, let us begin. Over here, I'm just really stretching because I'm about to do power cleans. I will demonstrate to you how you can still be an overall athletic specimen and still build muscle as you age. Literally, this is the training that makes you functional, overall functional. Uh, this is— I call it overall functionality training right here, aka athleticism, you feel me? So yeah, man, like I said, I'm working on my shoulders, my rotator cuffs, and all that because I'm about to do power cleans. I'm about to snatch it, you know. It's a very— it's a very aggressive movement in a sense. As you see me right there doing with the bands, you know, I'm mimicking the movement, triple extension as they call it. Uh, excuse me while I take off my pants and I have to text a client right here. So yeah, this is how busy it gets, you know what I'm saying? So I'm working out, a client texted me, he's asking for proper form. So yeah, that's what I have to do, you know. Uh, I don't mind doing it, but let's get into it though. The power clean. I started off with low weight, you know, I had to test out the weight first, you know what I'm saying? Just 185. Uh, I'm currently 165, 170 around that, around that rep. I typically, uh, around that, uh, uh, what's it called? Around that, uh, uh, weight. I typically power clean like 215. Uh, my max is 215 actually. Uh, so yeah, but I, I, I try to stick between 205, 185, 205, and 215. This— then I moved to— I moved to 205 already. It didn't move too good as I wanted to move, but it moved nonetheless, you feel me? But you know what I'm saying, like I said, uh, can't, can't complain too much. I do work out fasted, so as you can see, I'm a lot stronger than I am. I just don't have food in my system. So, but that's fine though. I do that for a reason, but I will start working out with food in my stomach now. Then I went to trap bar deadlifts, explosiveness. As you see right there, my feet are going off the ground for a specific reason. I'm mimicking the movement of a penultimate step jump, you know what I'm saying? Because I'm a 2-foot jumper. I don't like jumping on one leg. It never really been my thing. It's cool and all, but I'd rather jump with 2 feet. I upped the weight up, 315. It's really light, but like I said, A lot of these weight, a lot of these lifts are kind of heavy to me now because like again, keep in mind I'm working out fasted. When I'm when I'm when I have food in my system, I'm pushing some crazy weight for my for my for my body weight. You feel me? And I know a lot of y'all have seen that. You know, like I'm pushing crazy weight for my body weight. So yeah, this is kind of me nerfing myself in a sense. You know what I'm saying? Had a had what's called little tick up the calluses right there. Had to text a client again. He asked for a proper proper form check and all that. His name's Carl. He's actually a soccer player. So yeah, I took— I actually recorded a video showing the proper form. He was asking about a bear crawl and what's it called, kettlebell pull-throughs and all that. So yes, as you see, my legs are going off the ground. Make sure you mimic a 2-foot jump. This is literally force production right here. I'm gaining strength and all that in a sense to generate power, all that. A strong muscle is a powerful muscle. I am doing, what's it called, weighted step-ups. Unilateral training right here, ladies and gentlemen. What you do with one leg, You make sure you do it with the other leg, you know what I'm saying? I probably should have put the camera angle in a better position, but hey, man, you know what I'm saying? It is what it is. I will do better next time, you feel me? Like I said, this is, you know, I was kind of rushing to work out. Like I said, I had a client to train, so, but that's fine though. So yeah, and I'm being aggressive with this. This is like, this is, will teach you if you wanna jump on one foot, you feel me? Yes, I don't like jumping on one foot, but I make sure I eliminate any weaknesses I have. is the whole point of being overall functional. Like, literally, you become a specimen. You can do whatever you want, you know what I'm saying? You can do backflips, you can do cartwheels, you, you can just contort your body and just control your body in any, any sort of way. Apologies, I did not see that lady, you know, undressing herself, you know what I'm saying? I, I apologize to her. I did not actually see that for real, for real. So I was just locked in on the workout. But, you know, hopefully, you know, I'm not being disrespectful, lowkey. But yeah, you know what I'm saying? Like I said, what you do on one leg, you do with the other one. 3 sets. We did 3 sets of, uh, I think I think about 10, 12, you know what I'm saying? But yeah, we're literally like, we're stepping into the ground, you feel me? You want to generate force, you got to step into the ground, build that strength and power, you know what I'm saying? Build that strength and it transfers to power. I had to rest a little bit. I ain't really rest that much, but it's cool. I'll rest a little bit. Then we moved into this, you know what I'm saying? Single leg push-ups. Oh yeah, these are really good, you know, they build single leg strength, as it says right there, unilateral training. I'm trying to build my single leg strength still, so I put weights on. I put 45s on both sides right there. As you can see, you can even see the striations, you know what I'm saying? And also these, you know, if your knees aren't strong enough, ladies and gentlemen, please do not attempt this, you know what I'm saying? You need somewhat strong, you know, strong joints, you know? But for the most part, you can just do the step-ups. The step-ups are really good. So do not neglect that. Excuse me. So yeah, I did what I did with the left leg, I do with the right leg, you know what I'm saying? When we get that done, just a really good movement. Like I said, I had to rest, catch my breath a little bit. Man, I'm telling y'all, man, working out fasted is not for the weak. Trust me on that. People always ask me why I do it. I mean, I do it for the love of the game, man. You know, it's fun, it's challenging, it's hard. I don't have to do it, but you know, like I said, I just do it for the love of the game. Then I went into back extensions. I'm trying to strengthen my back. If my back, AKA core, you know, the core area is weak, you know what I'm saying, I will be weak in every form or aspect in life, literally. You know what I'm saying? This plays a big role. I always say core is the foundation. We train our core every day. I'm not directly training the core here, I'm training the back, but still, you know what I'm saying? We train that regardless. Next, you know what I'm saying? I'm gonna show y'all what I do. Like, this is, like I said, step by step. Oh yeah, you know, gotta show the physique, you feel me? We come to RDLs, you know what I'm saying? We stretch out our hamstrings 'cause we want to be able to generate that force and power too. So I just went 225. I didn't really do anything crazy, you know what I'm saying? Not heavy weights, so just 225 and we just spammed that. I think we spammed this for a good 8 to 12 repetitions and all that. As you can see, I'm going low, you know what I'm saying? And I'm coming up explosively. I'm kind of doing it eccentric, you know what I'm saying? And now we have weighted decline crunch. Yes, we train abs/core every single day at different intensities. You know what I'm saying? If anybody's telling you to not train your abs every day, please stop listening to them. Your core and abs are the foundation. If they're literally strong, you literally will be strong in every damn lift. Come on now, ladies and gentlemen, you know this, you feel me? So like I said, take my advice and take my word and train your core and abs every single day at different intensities. You will not hurt yourself. You will only become stronger. Again, as I mentioned, I'm a lot stronger. I'm just fasting. So, you know, I kind of look weak. I'll be real with you. And that's fine if you think I'm weak, you know what I'm saying? I don't have food in my system. But next we move into the banded assisted plyos right here. These are really good. As you're gonna see, I don't land on my flat foot. I'm landing on my ankles, like my Achilles right there. This is great for ankle stiffness. But again, if your ankles aren't strong enough, please do not do this. It's pretty advanced, you feel me? And also, yes, this is, like I said, this is really good for ankle stiffness. You can see me demonstrating my ankle stiffness. I am literally landing on my Achilles, not my flat foot, you feel me? So take note of that. It's very good for ankle stiffness. Yes, everyone needs ankle stiffness, and trust me on that. I mean, uh, in life You're gonna need to run sometimes. You don't move, you don't, you're gonna need the power and just, you know, the strength on your Achilles, you feel me? So please do not neglect that. You know, you want to be overall functional. You literally wanna be a specimen. You wanna be able to do whatever you want, run around, play with your kids, have fun, things like that without any discomfort. So next I moved into banded TKEs. Yes, when I did what's called banded assisted plyos, it takes a toll on your knees. Jumping takes a toll on your knees, you feel me? What do you do next? You strengthen your knees. You know what I'm saying? Bandit TKEs, pumping that blood into the knee right there. Yes, you need a thick band too. And I mean a good resistance thick band. Whatever you do with one leg, you do with the other one. This is pretty much a unilateral exercise right here. You feel me? It doesn't matter if it takes time, if you do it for 20 seconds, 25 seconds, it doesn't matter. Please do not neglect your knees. The reason why a lot of y'all have knees that are bad, ache, and they're just trash in over a week, It's because you neglect it, man. You do not train your knees like you train your chest, you know what I'm saying? You don't train your knees like, you know, you get that chest pump. I know a lot of y'all love that chest pump, you feel me? But guess what? Train your damn knees, you know what I'm saying? Because they, they weak as hell, you know what I'm saying? And that's not, like I said, not a diss, just making sure I emphasize that a lot of people do not train their joints. Don't be one of those guys or women out there, you know what I'm saying? You want strong and functional joints. I mean, you just wanna be strong and functional overall, you feel me? And this right here will make you functional. Take my word on that. Please train your joints, you know what I'm saying? They help a lot. So yeah, because like I said, you're gonna take a lot of damage doing jumping, sprinting, all that. Excuse me. These things are very, very aggressive and all that, you feel me? So you will take a lot of damage, you know, to the body and to your joints and all that. So yeah, next I move to Spanish squats. Still with the bands, as you can see, I'm going slow, but I'm also coming up very aggressive too as well. And I'm trying to go low as I can, you know what I'm saying? Not too low now, no ATGs, but I'm going low, you feel me? I'm just bending enough where, you know, my knees are being worked and being strengthened, you feel me? So yeah, Spanish squats are really good. Next I had, uh, what's it called? I had seated, uh, seated, what's it called, pliers right here. Seated explosive pliers right here. What I did was I was hopping up with one leg. I was trying to build that single leg power right there, you feel me? Pretty much like a single leg bound right here, but I'm seated, so I have to generate enough power. By me having to generate enough power, I'm literally building that power up, you know what I'm saying? So yeah, seated— seated, what's it called, uh, bounded pliers are really good for you. I think I had about 2 to 3 pliers in this. Then I had this, uh, gentleman, you know, come over here. It's fine, you know what I'm saying? We were talking actually. He was— he kind of— he, uh, complimented me. He was like, some springs, you have some springs right there. I was like, yeah man, I'm young right now, so I'm gonna use them while I can, you feel me? So yeah, kind gentleman. Kind gentleman. Look at that, he's in the gym. That's impressive as hell, y'all feel me? That's like super impressive, man. I hope I'm in the gym at that age. Then I did seated, what's it called, uh, broad jumps right here. I, I wasn't able to jump too further ahead because as you can see, you know, like I would have hit myself, you know what I'm saying? There's a mirror right there too, so— and I have socks. I know a lot of y'all wondering why does he have socks on. Well, I do like training in socks a lot, you feel me? So I'm not really, I'm not really extending as much as I can or I want to in a sense, which is fine though. It's cool. We're indoors anyways. I can't wait for summertime. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Y'all seen my last summer videos, man. When we were outside, we putting that work on the field. So yeah, pretty much I digress. But after that, we went to coping hangs. Like, these are, these are really good. You're opening up your hips. Am I being aggressive with it? Yes. You know, you don't necessarily need to be aggressive with it, but I'm trying. I'm technically dropping and coming back up in a sense. You feel me? So yes, I am opening up my hip flexors because what do we need the hip flexors for? Every damn thing. It literally controls all that movement. You wanna run, you wanna jump high, you wanna turn backwards, you wanna turn left, you wanna turn right, move laterally, you need strong and capable hip flexors. If your hip flexors is not strong and capable, you are cooked, my friend. You know what I'm saying? So you don't wanna be cooked, you feel me? And yeah, man, typically I would train my core last, but we just did hip flexors. Alexa, you know what I'm saying? That was pretty much it, y'all. And yeah, man, like I said, for more, I will post more. I hope y'all enjoyed this. I really do. Uh, it's a, it's a pleasure, you know, just, you know, just, you know, putting you on game or just really just putting the sauce out, you feel me? And yeah, man, I hope y'all stay blessed and disciplined. And of course, if y'all want more videos, just, you know, like I said, just comment down. I will try my best to, you know, obviously work on this. I do get busy with my clients, you know, you know, editing and obviously coaching other people and all that. But hey, man, like I said, it's a joy, man. I appreciate y'all for watching. Y'all stay blessed and disciplined. God bless. I'm out.
