Athletic Training: The difference between aging fast staying capable

In this energetic, informal workout walkthrough, the creator explains how to “de‑age” the body by prioritising plyometric movements, ankle‑tendon strengthening, post‑activation potentiation, unilateral power work, core rotation, and hard conditioning. He demonstrates a sequence that starts with plyometrics to build explosive power, follows heavy quarter‑squat lifts with maximal jumps (post‑potentiation), then moves into isometric ankle and joint holds, assisted banded jumps, Bulgarian split‑squat hops, core rotations, back extensions, Nordics, and banded terminal knee extensions (TKEs). Throughout he stresses the importance of strong, “bullet‑proof” ankles to prevent injuries, the value of daily core work, and conditioning sessions to avoid physical and mental weakness. Personal anecdotes about coconut water, family, outdoor training in New Jersey, and a friend’s call illustrate his motivational mindset: stay consistent, enjoy the work, and keep the body active so you can keep up with future kids or hobbies. The video blends instructional cues with motivational commentary, urging viewers to adopt these habits for lifelong athletic capability.

Athletic training, ladies and gentlemen, exactly what you need to cure the pain in your body, stiffness in your body as well, and overall pain in your joints. You feel me? And guess what? It makes your workouts fun and exciting. So yeah, I'm gonna run this through, run this down with y'all, and I'm gonna be fast with it. You know what I'm saying? Not fast, but I'm obviously, you know, obviously respect your time, and I respect my time too as well. So yeah, before you start working out, you want to start doing things like that. Apologies, a client texted me again. That's my phone. So yeah, but I will respond to, uh, Ba after this. So before you want to start, you know, obviously moving your body and, you know, obviously working out, you, you want to move, you know what I'm saying? You literally want to move. I never understand why people walk on the tread— oh my gosh, let me mute that. Apologies, very unprofessional. I never, I never understand why people, uh, you know, why people walk on the treadmills. Like, that's cool and all, but if you're going to be training like an athlete, moving like one, you know, you know I'm talking about, You know, rotating your body, you know, your spine, whatever it may be. You want to move. You want to start by doing plyometrics. Trust me on that. I mean, literally the de-aging drug right there, or the de-aging exercise right there. You know, I should say exercise. That's a better term. But you can, you know, if you want to word it that way, it's fine. As long as you get the point. You want to start by doing plyometrics. I am literally, literally training my ankle stiffness right there. You know what I'm saying? 'Cause you know, you need strong ankles. You know what I'm saying? If you don't have strong ankles, you are very injury prone. Your tendons will snap. You know, your Achilles will snap. And you want to avoid that as much as possible. Let's be real. So after me doing all of this, I go to the fun part. Now we're doing quarter squats. This was today's workout. You're going to love today's workout, literally. So it's going to make you faster, explosive, you know, whatever it may be. You know, everything is with intent. This is literally— I'm doing quarter squat with intent. After that, I go do 3 to 4 maximum jumps. Well, not necessarily maximum, but, you know, I mean, that's what I could do for now. That's the only spot I could jump, you know, like, you know, jump just to measure things out. So it's not necessarily maximum, but it's pretty decent. You feel me? So I'm a 2-foot jumper, as a lot of y'all know, a penultimate step jumper. You know what I'm saying? I can't really, I couldn't really generate as much force. Yes, I could have used my shoes, but here's the funny part. I like feeling the ground a lot. So that's why, you know, I use my socks and all that. But it's also dangerous too, because, you know, you can slip. But don't do what I do. You know what I'm saying? A little bit advanced at this. That's why. So yeah, don't do that. But yeah, after doing 405, I go to 315. You feel me? Now we're tricking the body. After we do heavy lifts, we jump right after. You know what I'm saying? We talking about This is called post-potentiation. We're tricking the body. You know, it's in a fatigue state, but it's still able to generate enough force. Literally, you know, I'm talking about the jump. As you can see, I'm not necessarily trying, but I'm jumping pretty high, I guess. You know, it is what it is. Obviously, we will do better. It's starting to get warmer, so a lot of workouts will be outside now. You know, I got to— I got— I got— like I said, I got something good for y'all, man. Y'all gonna love these workouts. Next, we go into ankles. You know, we go into the tendons and all that. Yes, isometrics. Your joints and tendons, they love weight. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, I'm trying to overcome that right there. As you can see that, you know, I'm literally trying to overcome it. So I'm pulling it with as much force as possible. You know what I'm talking about? This is really good for you. Why is this really good for you? Well, you want your leg to be bulletproof. I'm literally bulletproofing my legs by doing isometric holds right here. Overcoming isometrics right here. Really good for you. There are other isometrics I will get into, like split squat isometrics, you know, for your hip flexors, your knees, and ankles. That kills 3 birds with one stone. I will go, but I will go over that next video. And this is me, you know, taking a little rest in between and all that. You know, good to have a little bit of fun. You feel me? You're training, you know, to obviously better yourself and all that. So, you know, might as well have fun. You feel me? Don't be, don't be the guy who's always like, you know, stuck up and all that. You know, that's not cool. I mean, I do look like I'm mad or whatever, but you know, people always tell me that, but I'm not mad. Trust me. I just have a very, I just have a very serious face that doesn't match my personality at times. So, you know, like I get people at the gym very You know, quote unquote afraid to walk up to me and ask questions. But that's not me though, you feel me? I'm a very chill guy. I'm drinking coconut water, very healthy for you. That's probably the only thing I drink apart from water. I kid you not. My mom, she got me into that. She loves coconut water, so she gets coconut water for me and all that, even though I tell her not to. But it's fine though. Next move is leg extensions. I'm doing, you know, I'm trying to build some good quads, you know what I'm saying? You know, I'm not there yet, but I'm trying to build some good quads. I'm doing two sets. I'm doing two sets to failure. Literally, I'm going to like you know well not necessarily to failure, but I'm doing two sets to twenty you know twenty twenty twenty four and all that. You know what I'm saying? So yeah, about that good rep range right there because like I said today was really just a leg explosive leg workout. You know an athletic leg workout right here. I cover all well I cover a lot of things. You know which you will see. You know what I'm talking about? I cover a lot of things and. With this again, like I said, you got to train your core every day. You know, back extensions right there, you know what I'm saying? Really good for you. Put the weight on it and go down and come up. You can be explosive with it if you want, like I'm doing right now. I'm doing fast. I'm not necessarily doing slow. And we have the Nordics right here. I did some assisted Nordics and all that. You know, this is really good for you. Trust me. Like I said, I'm covering a lot of things right here that, you know, you should definitely pay attention to and you should definitely implement it in your training. You're trying to bulletproof the body. I mean, I mean, that's the whole point of this, man. You feel me? You want a strong and capable body. If your body's strong and capable, that is a flex. That is one of the, one of the biggest flexes out there. At any given time, you can literally wake up, go run fast, jump high, and just overall do whatever you want to do with your body and all that. And here's the most— here's the most important thing: you can keep up with your kids. Yes. You know what I'm saying? I don't have kids, you know what I'm saying? Maybe in the future, you know, my mom keeps asking me and all that, but, but I don't have kids. But you know, I can— you know, this, this exercise, these right here, Will help you keep up with your kids, you know what I'm saying? And just enjoy your hobbies, ladies and gentlemen. Next, we have assisted banded jumps. One of my favorite exercises to do for added power and also ankle stiffness as well too. Watch how I land. I never land on my flat foot, literally. And yes, before you go do this, please strengthen your ankles. If your ankles are not strengthened enough, you will quite literally snap it because as you jump up, you have to, what's it called, deal with deceleration as well, you know what I'm saying? So please strengthen your ankles. Next, we have what's it called? We have weighted what's it called split split squat hops right here. You know I'm saying Bulgarian split squat hops. You do that fast train your fast switch as well. I forgot I forgot to say this, but in the first clip right when I started the video, that's training your fast switch as well. You know I'm saying we're doing exercise that train your fast switch. So yeah, you do this three sets. You know do like you know a good eight seven seconds and you know you jump you know with with a single leg. You're building single leg power unilateral training and coordination right here. A lot of things I'm telling you you killing a lot of birds with one stone right here. Well. Yeah, I don't know if I worded that right, but apologies if I did not word that right. Yes, this takes the wind out of you. I kid you not, because excuse me, you have to, you know, you have to be intentional all of this. Literally, look at that. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not stamping on my, on my, on my flat foot. You know what I'm saying? Straight ankles right here. We're talking about ankle stiffness. This is how you build that ankle stiffness right here. You know what I'm saying? People like to say fascia. I mean, whatever you want to call it, man. But you know, like I said, with me, I just say train your ankles. You know what I'm saying? Just, you know, just train them really good, brother. Train them really good and you will not be disappointed by the amazing results, you know, and just benefits it gives you. You know, you're not going to be injured, you know what I'm saying? You're going to be less injury prone and all that. Very not scared to take steps because, you know, typically when your ankles are weak and all that, a lot of people, you, you know, you, you second-guess what you're trying to do. Let's be real, you know what I'm saying? You second-guess your movement, you know, your behaviors and all that because yes, your ankles are not fortified. They're not bulletproof. Next we have core. I tell you every day, man, train your core every day, different intensities. Now we have rotation right here. A lot of the things you want to implement in your training, you definitely want plyos before the lifts, you know what I'm talking about? You want to rotate your spine, which I mean, I'm kind of doing that right here. You want to play sports, like literally go out and play sports, man. You don't have to be the best at it, but it keeps your body young and active. Literally, man, you know, the body is like a weapon. You know, you sharpen it by, you know, by just doing activities, you know what I'm saying? Doing rigorous things at times, you know what I'm saying? And another thing you want to do Number four, you want to do hard conditioning so you're not you know weak. You know you know I'm saying, and I will say another word, but I'm gonna keep it PG. You know so you're not weak. You know I'm saying, you need some hard conditioning. You know weekly, literally, you want to do at least once or twice conditioning a week. You know I'm saying, like trust me on that. You do not want to be weak and fragile. You know I'm saying conditioning will help you with that, and also it's gonna fortify your mindset as well too because conditioning is hard, man. I mean literally, you know you you know you you know you you know you keep you're forcing yourself. I don't want to say forcing yourself, but you know. You're demanding a lot from yourself to keep going and not quit, you know what I'm saying? A lot of us, we do not like to quit. Quitting is not good, you know what I'm saying? And you know, it's a mindset thing. I've never met a guy who says he loves to quit. That's not a real thing. I've never met a person who said they love to quit. I don't really believe that, you feel me? So when you're doing conditioning, you know, you are your best motivator, you know? So definitely do that. Right here, I'm doing banded TKEs. After all that, you know, torture we did on the body and the knees, You gotta strengthen your knees, man. You have to strengthen your knees. If you don't strengthen your knees, you will be cooked. You do not want to be cooked, you know what I'm talking about? So these are really good. I would advise y'all to definitely get the bands. If you do not have the bands, the bands will really save you. Trust me on that. Definitely get those thick bands, you know what I'm saying? Get it from— get off Amazon, you know what I'm saying? They will really save you. And last but not least, we have conditioning. This was actually the last thing I was going to do. Trust me on that. Uh, so something very funny happened. It's in— over here in Jersey, it's getting sunny real good, and you know what that means, right? Most of the workouts will be done outside, you know what I'm saying? Well, on the field and all that. And, you know, yes, we're gonna work out in the gym, we're gonna lift, you know, lift some weights and all that, but for the most part, most of the workouts are done outside because, like I said, you want to keep your body active for as long as you can. Literally, this is what de-ages you. Like I said, like I'm gonna keep repeating this. I'm gonna keep repeating this so this sticks in your head. This is what deages you. Yes, you can. You're gonna build muscle. You're gonna do all that. But this is the most important thing. Literally, you want to be an active person. You know what I'm saying? It is one of the biggest flexes to be active in your older age. Trust me on that. You know what I'm saying? My dad, you know what I'm saying? He's he's an old guy, but he's you know he's still active. You know he may gain some weight because you know you watch his diet, but it's all good though. But he's still a very active guy. You feel me? Because he wasn't he was he was an athlete. He trained like one. So yeah, so is my mom too. But you know, now she's, you know, she's just chilling. She's a lovely woman. Just, you know, taking care of my little brother. So it's all good though. I love her. I love her. But I digress, you know what I'm saying? So yeah, over here we have conditioning. Conditioning is very great for you. Like I said, you want to do at least once or twice a week so you do not become weak. Emphasis on weak. You do not want to be weak. Yes, it is a very dangerous thing to be weak. But yeah, and I don't only mean, you know, physically. I mean mentally conditioning challenges you, as I mentioned, as I mentioned prior. So yeah, you know, I did this for a while. I did this for about ten, twelve minutes. Then, you know, funny thing, my homie called me, you know, and I cannot resist, man. I cannot resist a good workout session outside. I was like I said, I was done. I was really done. But he called me. He was like, "Yo, bro." He was like, "Yeah, man." He was like, yeah, man, the sun's out. And because we over— over where we live, we live in a very, you know, you know, very, very safe and rich area, you feel me? Uh, God bless. Thank God. But yeah, you know, and we have a lot of, uh, we have a lot of, uh, tracks, you know, just fields around to run and all that. But the snow was— it was covered in snow because we had a snowstorm in Jersey like the weekend. So my homie called me, right? And he was like, yo, bruh, you know what I'm saying? The field's kind of clear, you know, what's up? You know what I'm talking about? And I'm like, I'm like, oh man, I cannot resist. I cannot resist. Oh yeah, last thing I did was actually, you know, uh, Spanish squats. But I digress. I was like, I cannot resist, man. I gotta go put in some work, you feel me? Like I said, you're never going to regret a day when you put in work, you know what I'm saying? You're never going to regret that. But you will, you will regret a day, you know, when you said, uh, yeah, let me, you know, let me just, uh, let me not just do this. Let me just relax and all that, you know what I'm talking about? When you could have been putting in work. Obviously there's time. There's a time to rest. I'm not saying no rest. I'm just saying, you know, you're never going to regret a day challenging yourself. You know what I'm talking about? So I went out there, stretched a little bit. I was a little rusty. Like I said, I haven't ran for a while. I know, honestly. Excuse, excuse a brother, man. You know, so I was a little rusty, but you know, I was not— I wasn't too bad. You know what I'm saying? Form needs a little work, obviously. You know what I'm saying? I haven't ran since like, you know, well, like officially, officially ran on grass since probably like last I would say last August or something, so I'm a little rusty. And you know, I always run, you know what I'm saying? That's how you spike your— that's how you train your CNS right there, your central nervous system. You must train it like that. So yeah, I was working on my homie. That's my homie right there. He's 6'4, 250. That's a big dude right there, man. No cap, you know. So that's a big dude. Y'all gonna see a lot of him, uh, what's it called, in the upcoming, uh, upcoming videos and all that. But yeah, you know, we were just talking. He wanted to race me, but bro, my legs were cooked. Like, come on now. I can't do it. You know what I'm saying? I can't do it. But FYI, I always beat him though. But I digress. So yeah, I'm just testing the form out. You know what I'm talking about? Making sure I'm loose. And you know, just feeling really good. And I was feeling really good. It's just that my legs were tired, man. So I checked the form out there. Good ankle stiffness. But on the second leg lead-through, the ankle stiffness was not the best. Like I said, I was just tired. So I took off my shirt as always because it got hot. You know what I'm saying? And you know, come on now. You look good. You feel good. You gotta show it off. You dig? But yeah, man, you know what I'm saying? I appreciate y'all as always. Literally much love because y'all show so much love. So I appreciate y'all and I will, like I said, will drop weekly videos. Thank you. Stay blessed and disciplined.
