Good morning, good morning! Happy New Year's, happy New Year's! So today is, uh, yeah, today's gonna be a good day. I'm about to go train one of my clients in person. We'll show you guys, uh, he just started, uh, with his New Year journey, which is, uh, congratulations to him obviously, and anyone starting out, great, you know what I'm talking about? That's great, you know, New Year, uh, better chance, a good chance for you to be better and all that, you know, improve on yourself, all the good stuff, you feel me? Who doesn't Who doesn't love to see change? I love to see change. You know, it's growth right there. Literally, you feel me? So I always commend people who want that for themselves. So yeah, man, I'm about to go meet him. We're gonna work out on some really just you know knees. We're gonna strengthen his knees and all that. You know, bulletproof his knees. You know the good stuff. You know what I'm saying? Really, really bulletproof his body because that's the first phase of any of my programs. I always make sure I bulletproof my guys or women's foundation. You feel me? If your foundation is weak, you're cooked. There's no point if your foundation is weak. So we must bulletproof your foundation so you can, you know, you're able to, you're able to, what's it called, uh, add force production, you know, uh, landing your feet properly without breaking your knees, you know, your Achilles, things like that. We want to solidify your foundation so you are not injury prone. So yeah, man, uh, it's gonna be a good day, you feel me? Hope y'all have a lovely day too. I will obviously record it and show y'all. Yeah, let's, uh, let's go put in some work.
What's up, y'all? Happy New Year's, by the way. I don't know when, uh, it's time to stop saying it, but, uh, Happy New Year's. And, uh, this is pretty much, you know, one of my clients, Pete, right here. And I'm training him in person. And what I typically like to do is run my clients, all of them, through the bulletproofing phase, you know, because a lot of them, you know, they're older gentlemen, you know, they're, they're like I said, they're in their 30s, uh, mid-30s to like a good You know, 40s and all that, you feel me? And the oldest I've ever trained was 50, like I mentioned last time. So, you know, and typically when you get older, you know what I'm saying, if your joints were not— were never properly bulletproof, you're gonna be cooked. So I like to start them— I like to start every workout with single leg isometric holds, you know what I'm saying? Single leg extension isometric holds. These are really good for you. They pump blood into your knees, obviously, and they also help with the extension and all that. Almost like banded TKEs in a sense, but you're mostly working the back.
Excuse me.
So one thing about me, right, I— when I, when I train my clients in person, I work out with them. So yeah, I'm not one of those, uh, you know, personal trainers, whatever you want to call it, that, you know, they tell you to do something and they don't do it. I mean, I think that was kind of obvious when you really like just, just look at me in a sense. Like, I like to work out. I really do love to work out. So, you know, I'm going to work out with you and I'm gonna push you, you feel me? But like I said, this is just, this is just the beginning, you know. Uh, each phase is 4 weeks for neuromuscular Connectivity. So like I said, we're gonna lift weights, but we're not gonna lift anything heavy right now in a sense, you feel me? Because what we, what we have to do is, you know, this is the first phase, so we have to strengthen our foundation before we move into sprinting, doing all those athletic-ass exercises, you feel me? Excuse my French, by the way. So yeah, man, we're gonna do this. Like I said, we just lifted 135 right here with the box squats. Again, we're working on our knees, so we're pausing when we get down, and you know, we, we quickly come up with an ascend, you feel me? We're very athletic with In a sense, and we're trying to be intentional with all our movements, you feel me? That is the point of training, training athletically in a sense, very functional. And yeah, I'm not wearing my, uh, I'm not wearing my shoes obviously, you know, I'm just chilling really. But yeah, so like I said, we upped the weight right there. We did 225 right there, nothing too crazy, you feel me? This is box squat. Typically we would go like real heavy, like, you know, with a box squat I would typically go like, uh, 405 or, you know, a little bit past that. But like I said, we're chilling right now, man, you know what I'm saying? There's no need to do too Too much right now. Now the next thing we moved into was a split squat. I like the split squat where you have to put the barbell between your legs. Now you can also do a dumbbell, you know what I'm saying, but this is just a little bit better since it helps with your stability and all that. It helps challenge your stability, I should say, you feel me. Now my client, Raif, he, you know, he had— he happens to have, uh, he happens to have what we call, uh, plantar fasciitis, you know what I'm talking about. You know, that's like that little area in the back of your foot that hurts. Excuse me, I had to burp real quick. Apologies on that. So he had a little bit of, you know, um, a little bit of what's it called, you know, uh, pain, discomfort, and a little bit of imbalances right there. But like I said, with things like this, you know, I'm great with things like this in the sense how I know how to, you know, alternate it, you know, like give a— give it a good alternative to do in a sense. You know, there are more than one ways to, uh, work out, if you get what I'm trying to say. You feel me? There's no, uh, it's not like there aren't many, uh, other exercises to do. So what I had him do, you know, I told him, you know, I told him First, I told him, I know I demonstrated. I was like, try doing it right with your foot on the side like that. But he obviously, he was very uncomfortable with that because he's not used to being in positions like this, if you get what I'm trying to say. And also flexibility and mobility play a role in this as well too, gentlemen. Do not forget that. A lot of people just lift weights, you know what I'm saying? But there's more to lifting weights, you know what I'm saying? Like there are other things that play a role than, you know, just obviously lifting and banging out some heavy weight. Trust me, I bang heavy weight out too, you know what I'm saying? But I also make sure I'm very functional. And intentional to everything I'm doing because I know the end goal, you feel me? So I had them do— well, I substituted, uh, the split squat for weighted, uh, sitting, sit, uh, sit and stands. Why? Very good unilateral, very good unilateral, uh, training for your knees. Why? They generally strengthen it. Literally, they literally strengthen your knees, you feel me? I told them, brace your core, tighten your core so, you know, you're not shaking, there's no instability, but, but instead you're stable and you can control your movement down and up, you feel me? I know, uh, and I told him we should do this on a higher box, which is 24. Typically we would do it on an 18-inch box or 12-inch box in a sense, just simply so you can work for it in a sense. You feel me? So you gotta go all the way down and come up like I'm explaining right here. You know what I'm saying? You gotta tighten and brace your core. Obviously I would've let the audio play out itself, but there's music in the background and you probably cannot hear me even talk. You know what I'm saying? With the music in the background. But that's fine though. You know what I'm saying? Nothing wrong with that. I just didn't, obviously did not wanna annoy y'all ears. You feel me? Because that music was pretty loud, man. You know, the gym music, it's trash, with all due respect. You feel me? That playlist, not it. Next, we moved into assisted, you know what I'm saying? We, uh, we moved into— what's it called? Well, not assisted, but, uh, you know, the Smith machine, uh, uh, Smith machine calf raises right here, you feel me? And like you can see, we're doing 25 pounds, so it's fine, you know what I'm saying? Each week we progressively overload. Since each phase is 4 weeks for neuromuscular connectivity and obviously to build up that strength and endurance, we're going in a adaptability, we're going to put the weights up. Trust me, this is okay. It was his first day, and you know, I had to, you know, just introduce him in a sense. You don't want to scare people when they're trying to, you know, better themselves and change, you feel me? I'm very much aware of that, you know. I had a habit of doing that at first, like, you know, because I would do difficult workouts and I was like, yeah man, you know, it's pretty easy, you feel me? But it's easy— it was easy for me because I was used to that, you feel me? But it's not easy for other people who are just starting out their journey. So, you know, I'm glad I noticed that because that was very selfish of me, literally. So right here, as you can see, I have him doing, you know, tibialis raises, you know, which is with his toes pointed all the way up, you feel me? This is for the shin splints. And, uh, this is— I mean, I said shins, but this is for his shins, you know what I'm saying? We have to strengthen them. So, and, you know, try to eliminate any discomfort, you know what I'm saying, at the beginning. Because like I said, Bulletproof, in the first phase, is bulletproofing the body. So we eliminate every weaknesses. So every weakness or weaknesses. So when we go into the second phase, you know, he can sprint properly without feeling pain, you know, his hips being tight, you know what I'm saying? He can, you know, he can jump properly. without his Achilles aching and all that. So yeah, right here I'm just explaining to him because I'm gonna be working with Pete for 6 months, brother, you feel me? I work with them for 3, 6 months, but it's, it's either— it's, it's up to them for what, for, for what they want to, uh, pick or choose, you know what I'm saying? It is up to their preference. So yeah, I'm gonna be working with Pete for 6 months, and in the summertime we're going to be sprinting a lot because over here in Jersey it is very cold, literally. I'm saying, like, I'm gonna go out and sprint, but other people are not gonna do that, you know, which is fine, you know what I'm saying? Sometimes I don't do that because it's cold. You know, health as well. You know what I'm saying? There's no need for me to go do all that sometimes. You know, I'm not trying to be macho. You know what I'm saying? So I know when to stop. You feel me? So yeah, man. You know, like I said, this was pretty much the workout. We did core. I forgot to post that, but we did some core. Train core every day at different intensities, ladies and gentlemen. Trust me on that.
It is very essential. It is very important that you do that.
Trust me on that.
You know, bulletproof in the body will save you. Literally. Especially as you get older.
You know what I'm talking about?
You need strong joints. You need strong joints. You need strong ankles.
All that. You know what I'm saying?
You talking about you need stiff ankles. You need everything to be strong. Your foundation has to be bulletproof. So excuse me. Like I said, it was pretty good. I'm a shower. Obviously eat.
It's time to break fast.
Eat some food and do some work. You know what I'm talking about? Edit some videos and all that and post that.
And as always, I appreciate y'all.
You feel me? All of y'all. Literally. Thank you.
So yeah, man. I'm a I'm a I'm a share what it is.
How the day is spent.
I probably might go see my mom.
Actually, I'm not too sure.
But But I'll go see you, you know what I'm saying? So yeah.
What's good, y'all?
So I just got done showering.
I'm about to go get some, uh, sweet potatoes. I'm about to go, uh, run out and buy some sweet potatoes because that's what's gonna be, uh, eating today. That's what I'm gonna break fast with. I'm gonna cook that. So I'm fasting for like maybe, I would say it's about like 22 hours, 21 hours now. Yeah, it's a long-ass fast, literally, you feel me? So it's gonna—
I'm gonna break it.
I'm gonna break it after I make some sweet potatoes. But for now, I'm gonna drive, uh, I'm gonna drive out and, uh, and go get that, you feel me?
Let's go do that. Let's go do that.
I'm gonna bring y'all along with me. It's like, it's a close store.
It's not too far, you feel me?
Not too far. Let's go.
Let's go along.
