In this informal vlog, Daniel Obi spends his rest day preparing for his mother’s birthday on December 12th. He starts with a brief workout, then heads out to buy a large bouquet of flowers, navigating cold weather and a mistaken pickup location. Along the way, he interacts with a friend (Speaker B) and a flower shop clerk, apologizing for being late because of the gym. Daniel repeatedly emphasizes his admiration for his mother, who is finishing a master’s program and studying for finals. He later drives to his mother’s apartment to surprise her with the flowers. Interspersed with Daniel’s narrative is a short academic segment where his friend Rohan delivers a capstone presentation on reproductive health inequities after the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson decision, citing statistics on increased infant mortality and the broader impact of abortion restrictions. The vlog maintains a conversational, enthusiastic tone, mixing personal anecdotes, logistical challenges, and a brief policy discussion.

Okay, perfect. Okay. All right. Well, hello everybody. My name is Rohan, and this is my presentation. I'll be talking about addressing reproductive health inequities through federal policy. It's a policy before the Each Act of 2021, and my faculty advisor is Captain Tripp.
Do like doing this.
So some of the key points of this capstone are since the Dobbs versus Jackson. decision in 2022, we've been able to see how financial restrictions on abortion have directly worsened health outcomes. When abortion became harder to access, especially in states that banned or heavily restricted it, many people were forced to continue unsafe or unwanted pregnancies. That creates health risks not only for women but also for infants and families as well. After Dobbs, data has shown already a measurable impact on infant health. Research has found a 7% There's been a 20% increase in overall infant mortality and a 10% increase among infants with congenital anomalies since the decision has been in effect. This shows that abortion restrictions don't affect just those who are seeking them, but also it has ripple effects to those children that are being born as well.
It's cold as hell, like I said. But yeah, man, um, let's go get my mom some flowers. That's cold breath. Should have wore some gloves. Goddamn, should have wore some gloves, bro.
