Coach Daniel Obi says knee pain after 30 isn't aging, it's untrained joints from sitting too much. He prescribes micro-breaks every 50-60 minutes, banded terminal knee extensions 3-4 times weekly, and gradual weighted work to bulletproof your knees without heavy loading too early.

Fix your knees, ladies and gentlemen. The real reason why your squats really hurt after 30 and up. So you have to understand that your knees don't hurt because you're getting older. That's really cope, you know what I'm saying? They hurt because they're untrained. It's that simple. You know, a lot of people don't train their joints and tendons, as I posted with a video last, uh, yesterday actually. People only think about the muscles, you know what I'm saying? They think about the external things that look good. That's cool and all, but you cannot forget your joints and tendons. They're super important. They make you capable. They literally make you move and last longer in the thing, you know what I'm saying, life. And by the end of this video, I promise you that you quite know how to, you know, bulletproof your knees. As you notice, I have pretty strong knees, as you've seen. You know, I'm— I have decent knees and all that, you feel me? Pretty strong joints. And you don't have to be able to do, you know, things like this. This is a little bit extreme, but, you know, if you can, obviously it solidifies, you know, your knowledge and it solidifies the fact that you're an expert in this field. And I happen to be an expert in bulletproofing the body, quite literally. And I, you know, I've been able to, you know, help lots of my clients bulletproof their joints and their tendons as well too, because we train for functionality and capability, you know, to be capable and functional, not only look good. Looking good is great, but I would hate to look good and not be able to move. What's the point? Let's be real. I mean, it's so boring. Literally, you just look good. It's like, okay. Wow, he looks good. Let's move on. He can't do a backflip. He can't run fast. He can't jump high. I love doing all these things, you feel me? So, which is why doing that and also looking good, ooh, a great bonus, you know what I'm saying? A great bonus, ladies and gentlemen. But yes, by the end of this video, you also have very strong knees as well, you know what I'm saying? So listen up. Now, a lot of my, a lot of my people, you know what I'm saying? A lot of my, you know, my clients in a sense, Oh, actually, you know, I digress that. A lot of people who sit down, especially desk workers, you know what I'm saying, and truck drivers, they tend to face the same, you know, the same problem, the same issue, and that will be very weak glutes and very weak joints overall. You have to understand that when you're sitting down a lot, you know, your bottom half, it takes a lot of the toll in the sand towel. It's inactive, you know what I'm saying? So what that does is that your knees get very weak, your joints get very weak, your hip flexors, Excuse me. Your hip flexors shorten and all that, and your glutes get overall very weak. Like I said, the whole bottom takes a toll on the body, you know what I'm saying? So, ways to mitigate that will obviously be, you know, I'm gonna take it step by step, you know. A little example I like to do, because I sit down to myself a lot. I sit down a lot, and I mean a lot, you know what I'm saying? Because I have to do, write things, write programs and all that, talk to clients and all that, which are typically very long meetings in a sense. And you will see, you will see some of the videos I post, you know, I talk to my clients for a whole hour sometimes. The combos are very great. But me sitting down a lot, obviously you would think, yeah, he should have, you know, very weak joints. But unfortunately, well, actually very fortunate for me, I have extremely strong joints, you know what I'm saying? As like I said, you've seen the weird, crazy things I can do with my joints and all that, uh, and that allowed me to do it without getting hurt, you feel me? And the reason for that is because every, every 60, 56, 50 to 60 minutes, I stand up, I wake up, I use my slam board, I do some isometric holds, I do some split squat holds, and I just do some Raise this tibialis right there. These things literally help mitigate and really just cancel out any weaknesses I may have faced from time sitting down. Like I said, I do this every 50 to 60 minutes. Very, very smart thing to do, ladies and gentlemen, especially, you know what I'm saying, as you sit down a lot, because when you sit down a lot, your body, it will affect you. You know, that's the harsh reality. You cannot, you cannot somewhat avoid this. Like I said, you're inactive for a very long time. It is only natural that you get some, you know, you feel some sort of drawback in a sense, you know what I'm saying? For everything, there's a, you know, for every reaction, there's a cause in a sense, you know what I'm saying? So I hope I said that right. I'm tripping. But for every, you know, for every action, there's obviously a consequence in a sense. And the action that, you know, the consequence you face, you know, from, you know, not moving for so long is that you start to get, you know, very weak joints, achy joints, and, you know, this tight, Tight and stiff hip flexors in a sense, you feel me? But there are ways to mitigate this. I just gave you one way to mitigate, one of the ways to mitigate this. Another one would be banded TKEs, you know what I'm saying? Terminal knee extensions. These will slowly get you, you know, slowly working your VMOs, you feel me? Slowly, literally strengthen it and all that because you don't want to move into this load, heavy loads early on while you're trying to bulletproof your knees. That's very dangerous. A lot of people make that mistake of moving to heavy loads very early on. And guess what? They injure themselves. You have to ease into it, ease into it, because remember, your knees are not trained enough. They're not strong enough to handle that. Again, you're sitting down a lot. It's natural they're weak. You know what I'm saying? This is, you know, this is not rocket science. They should be weak. You know what I'm saying? If they weren't weak and you weren't, and you weren't even training them as well as most people don't, I would be surprised. I would be shocked. You would be a genetic phenomenon and all that. But unfortunately, that's not how majority of people are. Majority of people are not genetic phenomenons. So they have to really train these aspects and these body parts of them efficiently and very carefully so they do not injure themselves. Injuries will set you back. So we try to avoid that as much as possible. But yes, banded TKDs are really good. I try to do these at least 3 to 4 times a week. Yes, it's low intensity. It's not too much on the body, not too much stress on the body. And it doesn't— it's very versatile. Because you know all you need is a hard surface, put a bands around it, and guess what? Put your knee backwards and all backwards forward and all that terminal knee extension that it's in it's in the name right there you feel me? So that's another way on how you can obviously bulletproof and strengthen your knees aka the same thing bulletproof and strengthen your knees you feel me? Once you've done all the banded TKEs and you know terminal knee extensions aka banded TKEs and the Spanish squats you got to move on to adding load now. How would you add load to your knees? So because I always tell y'all the joints love weights. Trust me on this. Your joints love weights. If you see me train my knees or, you know, just the joints in general, I'm talking about the hip flexors and all that. I always make sure I add some progressive overload to that, some weights to that. How would you go about adding some weights, you know, to obviously strengthen your joints and AKA tendons per se, you know what I'm saying? This is— that's another topic for another day. Simple. You would simply do exercises that require it. A good example would be kneeling sit and stands, a sit and stand. You know, well, I wouldn't say kneel, but you can do a sit and stand. Weighted sit and stands, you have the weight in your arm, like I always do it. You go down on one knee, you go down on one leg, and you wake up the other one. You feel me? You pretty much wake up with the same leg as well too. But that, you know, that could be advanced for some people. And to others, it could be very easy because a lot of us, we know we have a strong side. Like, for example, my, you know, I'm very left foot dominant in a sense. Well, because I play soccer, I'm left foot dominant, but I can still use my right leg because I do unilateral training as well. So these things really help you, ladies Yeah. And ladies and gentlemen, I tell people all the time, it is, it hurts a lot to live with joint pain, you know. And I, unfortunately, luckily for me, I've never had to experience that, you know what I'm saying? Thank God. But for the people who I've worked with who have experienced that, and we've been able to help them, you know what I'm saying? My guy Christian, my guy Devin, my guy Sebastian, you know, my guy Robert, a lot of these guys, which I will be posting the testimony so y'all can really see for yourselves. It is, it is, it is an amazing thing. You feel me? I feel great about it knowing that, you know, I was able to help them. With your, you know, with your discomfort and just pain in general, which, like I said, it's more than you can really think of in a sense, because they really thank you and they really appreciate it because living with pain and discomfort, no one should have to do that. You know, it really does hurt. You know what I'm saying? You can't enjoy a lot of things, you know, like I said, your hobbies, you know, just leisure things that you like to do for fun and all that because it hinders you. The pain hinders you. The pain stops you from doing these things. So yes, ladies and gentlemen, these are just some of the few ways to bulletproof your body. And of course, if you need more info and just guidance, simply feel free to DM Coach Obi or just hit me up on Instagram. Y'all stay blessed and disciplined.
