Daniel Obi has done OMAD (one meal a day) for 2-4 years and maintains 9-10% body fat year-round with clean eating and heavy resistance training. He eats between 12-1 PM and 7-8 PM, packs protein, carbs, healthy fats, and fiber into that single meal, and says the diet has cleared his skin, stabilized his blood sugar, and sharpened his mental discipline. The main downsides: your body adapts and stops signaling hunger, and you can become obsessive about food rules.

Hello, hello, ladies and gentlemen. Today we're talking about OMAD. I posted a video last couple, 3 days, if I'm correct, about OMAD pretty much, you know, and I said the diet that saves you. We're talking about a diet that really saves you. I had a person comment on TikTok actually, and it was a funny comment, you know, and I actually do get it. They said eating more than once in your 30s is quite dangerous. And, you know, it's funny, but I get what he's saying. For the simple reason that it's a lot harder to lose fat as you get older. Obviously, you know, your insulin sensitivity is a lot higher per se. And, you know, really any little thing you eat, it just, you know, it just intensifies it. You feel me? So pretty much OMAD today, you know, the topic is OMAD and that is a diet that saves you. Now I've been doing OMAD for a good 2 to 3 years now, if I'm correct. I've been doing it for a good 2 to 3 years. Apologies for that. It's kind of, it's quite cold. I should be wearing my sweater, but I feel like I'm gonna sweat. I digress, apologies. But yes, I've been doing OMAD for 2 to 3 years now, probably going to 4 if I'm correct because I really do lose track at times. And when I said it saved me, it saved me in so many ways. Number one is a lot of people comment on my skin. It's pretty clear, you know what I'm saying? Not only do I practice OMAD, but I eat very clean. My diet is extremely clean. No sugars, no alcohol. I've never drank alcohol ever. And you really know junk food. I don't eat junk food. I haven't eaten junk food in like maybe 3 or 4 years now. You know what I'm saying? And it's been great, obviously. But OMAD has saved me in a sense how, you know, it's allowed me to build great mental fortitude, actually. With OMAD, I was able to build some insane mental fortitude because the ability to control what you put in your mouth is one of the highest forms of discipline. And I tell that to people all the time. You know what I'm saying? A lot of people would, you know, they always ask about, you know, how did you, you know, how did you build your discipline up and all that? And that's really how I built my discipline up, ladies and gentlemen. I, you know, I started doing difficult things. Difficult things challenge you. And challenges obviously make you a better person in the sense how they really develop character. They build character. So Omad really helped me, you know, to build that character in a sense by just building an inundated amount of discipline. Discipline that, you know, it became obsession to a certain extent, you know, at some point. I couldn't stop because I was always seeing new— I was always challenging myself and obviously beating those challenges and obviously getting better. And I just couldn't stop. I wanted to become a lot better. And yes, and I had to put in the work. So OMAD helped in that aspect, right? And another aspect OMAD helped with was just keeping me lean all year round. I stay very lean year round, a good maybe 9 to 10% body fat. If I'm correct, because my last InBody scale was single digit, but I could be 10% now. Who knows? I stay lean all year round. But you, and someone commented, and they're very right about that. To stay lean all year round, you just eating OMAD would not, it's not just going to make you lean all year round. No, no, no, no. You got to work for it. You genuinely have to work for it. You have to build some crazy amount of muscle with that. You have to add some resistance training to that. What do I mean by this? You just, you just, what's it called? Not, you know, you starving yourself per se, because some people when I say OMAD, they think you have to starve yourself. So they go about it the wrong way. You, you know, just starving yourself, limiting, you know, certain nutrients from you, it's not going to make you lean. That would not make you lean. That would actually harm you and, you know, just, you know, overall harm your hormones in a sense. A lot of people when I say OMAD, they think you got to starve yourself, eat very little, and, you know, just, just not, not be who you are. You know what I'm saying? Like really restrict yourself. No, no, no. OMAD is obviously discipline. You don't have to starve yourself. I've never said that. That's crazy because I don't even starve myself. OMAD, you know, it saves you in the sense how not only will your hormones be regulated, as in, you know, your blood sugar wouldn't spike because you're not eating almost like every 4 or 5 hours. You're eating just one time and, you know, you're letting your body really digest that food, really break it down, and really just work, you know, work what's called what it's supposed to do and not over time. A lot of people, when you eat like 3 or 4 times, your body, you know, it's kind of overcompensating in the sense it's working a lot to really break down that food. Lower your blood sugar levels and your insulin sensitivity. So, you know, it can allow you to build muscle and obviously shed fat. And yes, you can still build muscle with OMAD. Someone asked this, you know, and, and I'm glad a lot of y'all do this because, you know, uh, you know, when I started talking about OMAD, right, it was like such an, like, it was such an unreal topic. People were like, I can't believe this. You know, he's doing this. There's no way it's real. Nah, a lot of people do OMAD. It's just not talked about a lot enough like I do simply because it's looked down on. You know what I'm saying? It's one of those things that when people don't understand it, they diminish it. You know, they talk bad on it. They don't really give it a chance is what I'm trying to say. A lot of people don't give it a chance because like I said, when people don't really agree with it or they don't know something, it's very easy to really, you know, like I said, it's very easy to put it down. You feel me? So people just simply talk down on it. And I'm glad someone explained it in the chat. They were like, yes, you can still build muscle and maintain muscle with OMAD. You're just going to have to eat a lot. What I mean by eat a lot is that that one meal you eat is gonna be a heavy-ass meal, man. And I mean, when I mean a big heavy-ass meal, it's gonna have some sort of protein in it, some sort of carbs in it, and some sort of healthy fats and fiber in it too. You need fiber. Fiber keeps you full. You know what I'm saying? It keeps you full and it obviously lowers, it helps mitigate your blood sugar levels. And obviously it also helps mitigate your, what's the word I'm looking for? It helps mitigate, my doctor, she literally spoke to me about that. It helps mitigate, you know, Just a lot of red meats you might eat too, as well, because which is, you know, your cholesterol, which is super dangerous. My mom's a nurse, so she tells me a lot about all these things, which is why I'm also able to stay very healthy and she's able to stay very healthy as well too. So yeah, OMAD helps with that. You can still build muscle and maintain your, you know, your lean physique with doing OMAD. Actually, it will help you a lot too, as well. You know, it's gonna allow you, you know, your hormones to be regulated because when you're eating a lot, You know, it takes, you know, your body has to divide itself into breaking down food and obviously, you know, resting to obviously build that muscle you just tore in the gym. So you have to be very careful with these things. Now, with all these things, as I mentioned, right, OMAD is great. Like literally, it is great, ladies and gentlemen. It is an amazing thing. But also know that I don't always just, you know, say good things about it in the sense how with these things, they also have side effects and And cons, you know, obviously the pros always outweigh the cons with Omod. Yes, the pros will always outweigh the cons with Omod. It is, it is a, it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. And you've seen the people commenting and, uh, you've seen, uh, the, the individuals commenting down below. They love it too. It's one of the best decisions they have ever made. Once, you know, you're really locked in with it, it's, it can go really good for you. Omod is just, it's just really good in the sense how, I mean, uh, sorry, apologies. You know, one of the disadvantages, because I spoke about the, the, the pros, I will, I will obviously I'm going to go into pros again, but one of the cons of OMAD, right, that a lot of people actually start to notice when your body adapts to it is that it adapts almost too good. It's very efficient almost to the point where I'm talking about that your body actually tricks you to think you don't need food, but obviously you need that food. You just worked out, you know, you just did rigorous activities and your body needs to replenish, you know, it needs the nutrients to replenish itself, heal itself, and recover. But When you've been fasting for— excuse me. But when you've been fasting for so long, your body actually plays a trick on you to the sense that it's adapted to taking so much little nutrients that it thinks you don't actually need food. Because remember, with OMAD, you're also fasting. You're not just eating, you're not just, what's it called? Just eating, of course, but you're also fasting. You have an eating window. Some people's eating window is from like 12 noon To a good 9 or really 8. My eating window is anywhere from 12 or 1:00 PM to a good 7 or 8:00 PM. You know what I'm saying? So I never really eat anywhere out of that, obviously for specific reasons, which would be discipline. And of course the time I put for myself, for my body to digest the food when I go to bed so my body can focus on that. But yeah, some of the cons are that it makes you, it tricks your body to not wanting food actually. You know, you actually feel very less hungry. A lot of people always ask me, like, aren't you hungry after doing all that? Man, I would love to eat. Don't get me wrong. I know I should eat. You know what I'm saying? But OMAD really plays a trick on me in the sense that it says, nah, you're not hungry at all. You know what I'm saying? Or better yet, you don't really need the food in the sense. You know what I'm saying? So it really plays a trick on your mind because when your body adapts, as I've mentioned before, stress drives adaptation. That is a fact. You know, if you're stressed enough, your body is forced to adapt. It has no choice but to adapt. That's how the human body is. That's how the human mind is actually. You put it through enough, you know, through enough trials and tribulations, you know, you find a way to get out of that. You know what I'm saying? Or you find a way to adapt to that so you can obviously go about your things and go about life in a sense. Another disadvantage, you know, or not disadvantage, but another con of OMAD will be that not only does it make you less hungry, tricks you thinking you're less hungry, but you also, you know, in a sense, you also don't crave food as much. You know what I'm saying? Like, well, that could be the same too as, you know, like tricking you, but you don't crave food as much simply because your body has been fasting for so long, it's adapted to not, Really almost wanting food. So your hunger spikes really tend to go away. You wake up in the morning, you're super dry, but you're not hungry. That's OMAD right there. That's how you know it's working for you and it's actually working pretty good. Another disadvantage, well, I don't wanna say disadvantage, but another con I could think of will probably be the fact that you almost become too strict with what you put in your body actually. Now this is 50/50. This could be a good thing for you or a bad thing for you. You become very self-obsessed. Aware of just the little foods around you, the things you were eating before. Because not only does OMAD— OMAD works for you in a sense how you actually— it makes you want to stay away from sweets, sugars, all these things. It makes you want to stay away from that, right? But it also wires your brain to also look at these little things and be very cautious of them, which you obviously should because your body is your temple. You don't want to put rubbish in your temple. You feel me? So those would be a little bit some of the cons of OMAD, I would say. Nothing too crazy, but they can be classified Classify as a con because some people will love to enjoy their sweets and all that. But when they start doing OMAD, it's almost like they're locked in, you know, and which is a good thing. You should be locked in. They don't want to really swindle that progress or just sway across that progress. They really want to, you know, hammer down on that, especially once they see that progress, that result, man. They want to look like that forever. That's me right now. I want to look like this forever for as much as I for as long as I can, which is why I take these steps and I you know I still sharpen my discipline. Your discipline still must be sharpened every day. It is not one of those things that you do. Time and you're done for it. No, you sharpen— we sharpen our discipline every day. It is what will benefit us and is what will help us in the future, you know what I mean? Stay locked in and of course bring great success to us. So yeah, those are the, you know, uh, that, you know, was pretty much, you know, just talking about a diet that saved me. And of course I had to mention the cons because me always only talking about the positive things, it's not a realistic video. Let's be real. I tell you all the time, I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell y'all, I'm gonna be very, very Plain, simple, and obviously very straightforward with y'all. No fluff, you know what I'm saying? I practice OMAD, but I also know it has some cons, but the pros always outweigh the cons. Yeah, the pros always outweigh the cons. Let's be real. Everybody wants to be lean all year round, you feel me? So everybody want to be that. So it doesn't matter what they really say. People at the end of the day want to be very lean and very functional. A lean physique is almost like a status symbol. I mean, ain't nothing beating that. I'll be real with you. Mass is great, but let's be real, man. A lot of things have to be sacrificed, you know, for that mass. Once you look a certain way, especially if you're a big, big guy, you know, speed, agility, a lot of these things will be sacrificed. But when you're lean and strong, man, the world is kind of yours in a sense. You know, you know, you're very athletic. Just like today, actually, I'll give you a little backstory. I went to a run club today and we were doing burpees, all these, you know, just like athletic things. And it was so easy, but I was like, ladies and gentlemen, I was so much in shape than everybody else. I'm not saying they weren't in shape, but It was a competition. I'm a very competitive guy. I was so much in shape than everybody else. I was like, wow, you know what I'm saying? So, you know, not wow, like I was surprised. I was just, wow, I can't believe that, you know, a lot of people didn't train like I do or didn't train very functionally. They only cared about the muscles. That is where people fry themselves. Be very careful of that. I will make a video on this, of course. And yeah, I will make a video on that and just how, you know, how to properly train for my desk workers, my truck drivers, and those people who are chairbound. They sit down a lot. You know what I'm saying? But I digress though. Y'all stay blessed and y'all stay disciplined. I appreciate y'all and I thank y'all a lot.
