What's good, everybody? So today's video is pretty much how to bulletproof the body. Yes, I will be showing you some of my favorite movements to do to bulletproof the body. As I started off right there, these are called weighted squat walks. Yes, you know, you are going to need very strong knees for this, of course. As you progressive overload, you're going to go a lot lower. You know, I typically would do this for about 20 to 25 yards, but we're inside the gym and I'm showing my client right here to do it. But yeah, you're going to need very strong knees for that, and you're going to see the difference between me and his, what's it called, his way to squat walks. As you see, right, when he starts off, right, I will explain it to you. So today was supposed to be a vlog, but I just, you know, it's more of a hybrid, you know, if you want to call it that. It's like a hybrid workout and me showing you just how I go about training my clients. Here I'm just telling him how, he's asking me, you know, how do I really go about it and all that. So you're going to see a little bit of a difference when you have tight hips. Now if you have tight hips, right, you're killing two birds with one stone by By doing weighted squat walks. It's a little bit of an advanced movement, but you know, it still very much works. It signifies your strong knees and, and your very capable, capable hip flexors. Yes, we need all of these things to be able to move properly and obviously avoid injuries. If any of these things are weak, you're cooked. Like I always tell y'all, you don't want to be cooked. You know what I'm talking about? You need very strong joints at the end of the day. So you're going to see the difference between me and his progression now. As you can see with his, he has a little bit of tight hips. That's why his movement's a little bit, you know, it's a little bit sluggish. And not only— it's not necessarily fluid too, as well, you know what I'm saying? Because when you see how I do it, I move very in a, in a very mobile state. We can call it a flow state if you want. It's very smooth and it's very controlled too, as well. With him, he's trying not to fall down in a sense, because when I spoke to him about this, my guy P, you know, he's trying not to, you know, he's actually trying to balance himself actually, you feel me? And that's what, you know, this is kind of what you get when you have very stiff hips. Hips, you know, hips that are not, you know, they're kind of locked, if you want to call it that. When I did track in high school, my coach will obviously, you know, he would definitely tell me to, you know, really strengthen and loosen my hips. Now, when they say loosening, they don't mean like, you know, obviously like flappy and all that. They mean like it has to be strong and it has to be able to go, you know, get a wide range of movements, especially when you're sprinting too. You're getting a good stride. You want strong, capable hip flexors, you feel me, that are able to expand and just widen. So yeah, right here, I'm simply just explaining to him what he, you know, he technically Did that, you know, and how he can really improve on it. As you see, when I do it right, I go real low, you know what I'm saying? And there's a reason for that too, because like I said, it shows my capable, uh, my capable and functional, you know, and if you want to call it in a sense body, you feel me? My lower body is very functional. And as you can see, I'm doing it very smoothly. I'm opening up. I'm killing 2 birds with one stone. My knees, a little bit of ankles if I stay on my ankles, if I stay on my Achilles, but I don't stay on my Achilles. I'm killing 2 birds with one stone. Now we go to step up. We— now this is like the drive phase. Helps with a little bit of knee too as well, and it helps your explosive power as well. You feel me? Like, yes, we are going to do things like this because, like I said, muscle is very good, but I'm more, I'm more, I'm more, uh, focused on obviously strengthening the body so it can, you know, obviously benefit me in the long run, which it will benefit me in the long run because I will make sure of that. So we focus on the drive phase right here of more kicking our legs up. You're going to see right here. And by the time this video drops tomorrow, I will do a very, a very, very good, um, not really explosive workout, but let's just say a workout per se. You feel me? I'm going to try to make it a full body. I'm going to add some sprints into that because tomorrow is very sunny. So it's going to be a very lovely day. Trust me on that. But yeah, as you can see, he has his drive phase really down here, which is good. He's, you know, being intentional with it and he's driving that left leg up. You know, we're just doing, you know, we're doing 4 sets of like 5, 6 repetitions. As you can see, I'm driving that leg up. Mm. As soon as I stamp down, I'm driving that leg up. I'm being very intentional. With a lot of these movements, athletic movements, it is very, and I mean very important for you to be very intentional in what you're trying to do. Because being explosive or just being athletic overall is just being very intentional with everything you're trying to do. You know what I'm saying? If you're trying to jump high, obviously you want to be very intentional and produce a lot of force. If you're trying to move lateral, lateral shuffles, you want to be very intentional. Now we move. The next thing we did was Nordic, you know, uh, you know, assisted Nordics and all that. We're just trying to, like I said, you know, strengthen our hamstrings now, you feel me? Typically we would do RDLs, but Nordics are like, they're, they're best to none, you know what I'm talking about? They're really one of the, you know, uh, SDA workouts to go for your hamstrings and all that. And I'm explaining to him right here, he wants to, he wants to put his— you want to put your leg there, put it up so you get that support too as well, you feel me? And you want to drop down and catch yourself and push yourself back up. You're firing up your nervous system too, in a way, actually, you know what I'm saying? 'Cause you're doing it real quick. You're not, you know, you're not really spending time on trying to curl your leg or anything like that. You know, you're just, you know, doing a Nordex real quick. As you can see right there, he does it really good. You know what I'm saying? Nothing too crazy, obviously, because, you know, we have other things to do. We are going to actually strengthen our hip flexors again. Now we're dealing with coping hangers. Now we are literally stretching our hip flexors. You know, you strengthen your hip flexors by doing, you know, things like, Things like what's it called kettlebell march and all that. You know, you put on one leg and you you go up. You do a you do you're doing almost like an A skip, but you're marching up. You're putting that leg up. So I'm just over here overseeing his workout and all that. This is called a Copenhagen right here, but this is not more of a deep stretch. We're just going up and down trying to loosen that hip flexor up. You feel me? And in a word, really strengthening the same thing. You know I'm talking about. But yeah, we're stretching it right there. And believe it or not, the guy on the other side, he had you know he was doing a lot of the workouts I do too as well. Very functional guy actually in his old age. He's an older guy. I could tell. He was like in his mid-30s and he was doing a lot of the exercising. And that's so smart because by you doing those things right, you're definitely guaranteed. And I mean, you're guaranteed to be very fit and healthy as you get older. You know, that is a fact. You know, this is me just doing it right here, showing the movement, going down slow, coming up a little fast, you know, slow descent, fast ascent. You know what I'm talking about? Really like when I'm doing a box squat right there, heavy box squat, because I'm trying to generate that power. But with this, I'm trying to be very intentional. Stretch that hip flexors out and, you know, bring it back up. You know what I'm talking about? That's really it right there. And like I said, with my guy, Pete, you know what I'm saying? Like, he's very, he's very, he's much improved a lot. You feel me? Because we work a lot on his knees. He told me his hip flexors were stiff and tight. So I said, you know, guess what? I'm gonna add it to the program. So we do that. And one of the most important things I make sure to never forget is the tendons. Look at that. The Achilles and the tendons right there. You just need those things strong, man. Ankle stiffness is super important. I mention this all the time. We're doing isometrics right here. This is one of the things you want your workouts to always have. You want your workouts to always have an isometric hold in it, you feel me? Overcoming, you know what I'm talking about? You know, um, moving— oh, excuse me, not moving, I mean overcoming, you know what I'm saying? Or really just trying to, trying to push through in a sense, you feel me? Because there are different type of isometrics. So right here, he actually has plantar fasciitis in a sense, you know what I'm talking about? But we able to kind of, you know, mitigate that pain just by him being on that foot for like a couple 12 to 15 seconds or 10 to 15 seconds, however long we did this. And which was really good. He just held that position. I told him to hold that position, man. Let's see what it is right there. And he was able to do that. And yes, he wasn't feeling that much pain because like I said, this is how we mitigate those issues right there. As you can see right there, I'm just literally holding it with a, you know, with a 20-pound or 25-pound dumbbell. Typically you obviously go up in weight. That's how you progressive overload. If you want to progressive overload exercises like this and you're wondering, you go up in weight. Here is one of my favorite movements, banded in and out. They really help with your hip flexors and also help with your lateral movement as well too. If you play sports or if you don't play sports, you're not always going to move in a straight line. You're going to move laterally as well. So yeah, this is just, you know, one of the— some of the movements I definitely encourage y'all to do, you feel me? Trust me on that. You take my word and do this, you will be solid. Believe me. Yeah. What's good, y'all? I am back from the gym. I am back from the gym. Um, like I said, today was gonna be a vlog. I should have done that when I woke up, you feel me? But I did wake up a little late, so I just went to the gym with the homies, you feel me? But, uh, yeah, you know, I hope y'all love the vlog. We finna go shopping real soon. Um, we need some little things for the crib, you know what I'm talking about? But yeah, man, you know, I thought, you know, I might as well do a vlog since y'all always see me work out. Just see what I do. It's a light day today, nothing too crazy, nothing too crazy, of course. But yeah, you know what I'm saying? Uh, I'm about to break fast now. It is about— it's literally 2 o'clock, 1, 2 o'clock, around that time. And I'm gonna break fast and I probably might eat again later if I'm hungry. If I'm gonna show you, of course. But yeah, we're gonna see, you feel me? And yeah, you know, your boy, uh, hey boys, you know, I'm leaning out, I guess. I feel, I feel so tired because obviously I'm hungry. But yeah, man, I hope y'all have a lovely day. Let's, uh, let's get the vlog on the way. And yeah, I know, I know some of y'all gonna talk about the shirt too. Yeah, I love the shirt, right? Yeah, but nah, it's just a shirt though, you feel me? Don't take it too seriously. So yeah, I, uh, might go eat some food, you know what I'm saying? Appreciate it as always. What's up, y'all? Over here is the food I ate. I had some rice, some stew, as you know, it's African stew and all that, you feel me? Some mangoes, some fruits, uh, avocados, another fruit too, healthy fats. It keeps you, you know, it keeps me full since I eat one time a day or maybe twice sometimes. And I had some chicken, some rotisserie chicken right there. And I had some black beans and some boiled eggs. You know, the black beans was from my mom. You know, she made some beautiful, beautiful, like, I mean, lovely, lovely beans. It makes my stomach hurt though, because, you know, I can't do beans. But yeah, here's, you know, that was what I pretty much ate. And this is pretty much a little bit of update, uh, physique update. I'm a little fat right now. Like I'm telling y'all, I keep telling y'all, trust me, that's fat. To me, that's fat. Trust me when I tell you that. These are not my best standards, you know what I'm talking about? But it's fine though, it's just wintertime. Summertime, your boy will be a lot more cut and leaner, so it's fine. I'm not really too worried about that. But yeah, you know, I'm just a little bit of a perfectionist sometimes, is all. But yeah, you know, gotta be hard on yourself. But I am not too— I'm not ignorant to the point where I do not see very, very good progress. Of course, you know, this, this is someone's probably dream physique, you feel me? And yeah, man, that's pretty much it. Y'all, y'all stay blessed. And stay disciplined. I appreciate y'all a lot. Thank you for real, for real, for real.
