In this video, Nikhil Sai outlines four common email‑marketing errors that lower open rates and sales, and offers concrete fixes. First, he warns against overly long emails that Gmail clips, causing most recipients to miss the content. Second, he lists “spammy” trigger words (e.g., free, urgent, click here) that push messages to spam folders and advises re‑phrasing calls‑to‑action. Third, he critiques weak subject lines, urging marketers to use 6‑7 word hooks that spark curiosity rather than bland statements. Fourth, he highlights the problem of cold, pushy emailing without building trust; instead, he recommends a “Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook” approach—providing free value and engagement before the sales pitch. Throughout, he stresses concise, value‑first communication to improve deliverability, engagement, and conversions.

4 email marketing mistakes which cost you sales and which results in less opening rates. Hey guys, this is Nikhil Sai. Welcome back to another video regarding email marketing. So the number 1 mistake people make when they try to do email marketing is they write super long emails. What happens with the super long emails? When your email is super long, then Google will tag it as a clipped message and it will show with the bracket like message is clipped. and then there will be a small option which will say view entire message. To be honest, not even 1 in 100 subscribers will click on that. That means your email will be delivered, but they never see that. They see it as a message clipped, right? So this is so important. Make sure that your message is not clipped. And the second thing which can happen which will decrease your opening rates and which can decrease your potential of email marketing is using too many spammy words. Like, let me explain what are usual spammy words like, uh, affordable, apply now, bonus, click here, free money, promise, unlimited, win, urgent purchase, open, increase sales, increase traffic, take action, trial, order now, even click here. These kind of words are spammy words. Don't use— like, try not to use these words. Better you can convey your message in a different wording format, right? The call to action is same, but change the wording. This can help you to increase your opening rates and get most into your emails into inbox, right? Then the third thing is your subject lines aren't doing their job. Your subject lines sucks, right? A lot of people, the main thing is hooks. You should use hooks in your subject line, but people just do bold statements, right? Be hooking. Like, your hook is so important. That's what people get curiosity. They should feel like, oh, like, what's this? I want to see. They should click, right? So this is so important. So the average, like, people do super long subject lines or super short subject lines, but I recommend to do like 6 to 7 words, which, which works really well for me and my clients. So better go with 6 to 7 words, lengthy hooks. Which have hooks. It's not like just subject line, right? So this is the third important step which you need to take care. And the fourth thing is maybe your subscribers are not really interested. Maybe you're just cold emailing, right? Maybe your subscribers are not really interested in your engagement levels. So don't just be pushy and don't just go and promote every time. Better give them a lot of free value. Like every successful marketer in email marketing, they always use this Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook formula. They engage, they try to give them a lot of free stuff. And people who are receiving free stuff, people who are liking their emails, after they they have like 5 to 6 times engagement levels, then they pitch them. That's how the stuff works. But what most people are doing it in a wrong way, they just push a lot of spammy emails with all the call to actions without even building a trust, without even bridging their product to their customer, right? Start with stories, create a bridge relationship, then give them a lot of free value. Then in the end, when they— while they are engaging with you, then sell them. That's how you can potentially, potentially convert a little percentage of people. To your sales. This is how email marketing works. I hope these 4 tips can help you guys. Make sure to follow all these things and let me know if you have any more questions regarding email marketing and digital marketing. I would love to help you guys. So this is Nikhil Sai signing off. Peace.
