In this brief interview segment, host Nikhil Sai asks entrepreneurs about their biggest career mistake. Speaker B reflects on a personal loss of over $1.5 million across 17 years of online business, attributing it to excessive trust. He advises future entrepreneurs to adopt a more skeptical mindset and avoid being overly trusting to prevent similar financial burns.
I ask to every entrepreneur who jumps on, what has been the biggest mistake that you made in your business career that you would want to save all of us from?
Hmm. Be more skeptical, I guess. Right? Like, people always get burned. I've been burned for probably north of $1.5 million in my 17 years online. So be more skeptical and less trusting.
Interesting.
Pretty simple. Pretty simple. But you know, that would be my number one mistake, right? At one point, I was AWeber's biggest affiliate. I made the accident of intertwining two different businesses. Two different launch businesses, and one caused the other one for me to lose all my AWeber accounts and lose my monthly paycheck from AWeber. And it was like, this was in 2011 and they were paying me $35,000, $40,000 a month and I was their biggest affiliate. But because they chose to get rid of this one launch that I had with another partner, they closed any accounts associated with me. So don't put all your eggs in one basket.
