How I Overcame Insecurity | Comparing Myself to Adult Content Creators?

Nikhil Sai, 19, stopped posting after negative feedback and deleted his profiles out of fear. He reframed his anxiety using Alex Hormozi's worst-case analogy: even his worst video is less risky than adult content creators face. Now he posts consistently, treats early videos as practice, and dismisses criticism as envy.

In this video, I will teach you what mental framework I used to overcome my fear of making content and how I compared myself to porn stars so that I could actually start making more videos. Stick around before you make a decision. First of all, who am I? My name is Nikhil Sai, 19-year-old broke college dropout turned millionaire in 2 years, teaching everything I've learned for free completely on YouTube to help you make your first or next million. So if that sounds interesting, consider subscribing. I run a company called Funneling Media. So let's get right into the video. I'm not brand new to content creation. I have created a lot of content by doing podcasts, most likely. And I remember this thing, I was actually shooting a lot of Instagram videos back in 2020. I would say I shot like 200-300 videos, then I posted a few of them, and there was one hate comment. It just didn't make me feel good. And then I immediately stopped whatever I was posting and I just put it back off and I didn't make any content whatsoever later on. So other than podcast, by the way, it was fun. Okay, and I was not getting so much negativity on my podcast. So then I realized that I lost an opportunity here. Like, if you know, I actually achieved a million-dollar mark in 2 years starting from nothing, being born in India, having a thick accent, being brown, whatever. Coming from a very different background and I made it to, you know, a good place. I wish I have documented the whole journey and it crumbled up me that I didn't do that. Great, I made money. Great, I had profits. Great, now I'm comfortable. But the thing is, I have documented my whole journey till date. It would have compounded to a different level. You know, I would have 100,000 subscribers or more, or maybe hopefully a million people watching me and supporting me in my journey. It was insane, the hardships I've gone through, the way I cracked different strategies and projects. You know, I was a hustler, like pure hustle. If I would have just vlogged it, documented it, it would be a different story. But here is my insecurity though, what stopped me to shoot content. The insecurity was like, my future self will look back into this video and get insecure, or what other people who are potentially going to do business with me will look back into my videos and think, oh, this guy come from a very different background. Like, that was my insecurity, uh, and they might not do business with me in the future. Like, that was like my thought process, you know. And it's crazy that I actually thought that, you know. I deleted my personal Facebook account, I deleted my personal Instagram, I deleted all the photos of myself online. I have hidden everything. I was like, nobody should know where I'm coming from. I'm this shiny guy, you know, who is a million-dollar business owner from nowhere. Doesn't work that way, like, you know. Uh, and like, I think people only trust you more or connect with you by after knowing your vulnerabilities. Put it that way. Like, I trust Elon Musk. I love him so much because I know where he come from. I know the hardships. I see him crying on camera while he was trying to make the ends meet, you know, when he was trying to figure out the Tesla and SpaceX thing in the 2008 crash. It's just insane. Like, I know his most vulnerable moments, and that, you know, made me connect with him at a deeper level. So here is the mental model I have used. Like, you should really not think about what other people will think about you if you are documenting. Like, I just used a crazy analogy, you know, this might sound cliché, but this is real. I was like, what is the worst piece of content I could ever— and I actually went back to the most YouTubers or content creators and I saw their previous content. It was total shit. And then I understood that it is a process. Like, you know, your first video sucks, the next video sucks a little less, and then your next video sucks a little less, and you you continue to do that for a long period of time, that you stop sucking. I learned this from Alex Hormozi, by the way, the mental thinking model I'm actually implementing. And it was like, yeah, that is true. And I was like, okay, even if my videos continue to suck, what is the worst video you can ever have online? And you know, I was like, okay, like, you know, you can't be, you know, undress yourself on videos. Like, you know, that's one of the most insecure things everybody has about themselves, if I'm not mistaken. And then I thought, how many people are online, you know, who have, you know, adult content of themselves online? And I thought about that for a moment, and it was like a blink. There is tens of millions of people who are comfortably living without, you know, 99% of the time without worrying about what other people think, you know. And they maybe are from the adult industry or whatnot, but they are fine. Like, you know, these guys have their content where they are doing adult stuff on videos having millions of views and they're fine with it. And most of them, they are respected because of their, you know, character at a physical level, not just what they're doing for their profession online. So I was like, that is the worst thing you can ever have, and these guys are in millions of counts and they are fine with it. And I'm not doing that type of content, but why can't I accept that my initial videos suck and it's totally fine, I can continue to still do them because compared to what they are doing, like, I am like way down, like, you know, at a risk level. I'm like easy, like this is peanuts, right? So that is the exact mental model I have used to think about this. And I've seen this pattern— every successful content creator did suck. Nobody's first video goes viral most of the times, you know, unless you have experience. Nobody's, you know, first video, you know, like this is life, like you get better. And like you need to enjoy the process and be consistent in it. And basically that is the mental model I've applied. It might sound cliché, but understand the context. The craziest video you can ever have is you, you know, having no clothes, doing some crazy stuff. And there is millions of people who already have their videos like that online in multiple cases, and they're absolutely fine with that fact. And they're basically proud because that's their profession. And I am here, you know, being a little bitch trying to shoot some videos and being insecure about what other people will think. Most of the times, people who hate are the absolute stuck people who are broke, have no way in their life to be successful, or have no inspiration for themselves. I've never seen who hate me— most of the times when I get hate, 99 out of the 100 times, they're less successful than me. So it's a type of envy, I guess. I don't think it's even hate, and they just can't express how they feel, and that's why they convert that into hatred, and they throw some shit on me and which I can completely ignore. And that is a choice I'm going to make from now. So that is a mental model I'm going to apply. And I hope this can basically help me document myself on how I'm going to be consistent content creation and think about that, you know, like what I am doing right now, I might not be, you know, feeling proud at a crazy level after 10, 20 years looking back at this content, but guess what? It will help me to become the person I want to in longer run. Because I don't think you can build an amazing brand, great brand, you know, huge inbound consistency without content, at least for a longer— because when you run ads, you know, it's a demand you're creating because you can't— your brand doesn't attract enough people organically, so you can't sustain that for a very, very long run. If you want to build a brand, if you want to retarget people, you know, without spending money, content is the best form. So that is why I'm deciding to do this route, and that is why I compared myself to porn stars. Might sound cliché, but I explained to the context, and I was like, fine, like, you know, we can have the worst videos and they are not as worst as their videos, so good to go, right? So that's technically my analogy on how I have came to a conclusion to start creating content, and it really did help me. And one more thing I've actually done is I've went along and seen a lot of other YouTube channels and other people who are consistent in the game right now, and I've seen their previous videos, and they their videos suck. And trust me, like, the content I'm shooting right now is like 10x better than theirs. So I am more comfortable right now. So this is a mental model I have used to get out of this situation, and I learned this from Alex Hormozi. So in case if this helps, please do let me know. But this is just a documentation video of my own self. And yeah, I hope this video helped you out. In case if you like more content like this, feel free to make some suggestions in the comment section. I always look into that. Also consider subscribing and share this to somebody who might need help to, you know, use this mental framework on getting unstuck and by caring less about what other people will think. Because most of the times you get stuck because of some other person's perspective on you, on what you will be turning. And you know, it's not about if you can stop caring or if you can continue caring, it's more about how much do you care. So if you can care less, you move forward pretty much. And that's what I'm trying to do here. And wish me luck and hope, uh, hope I'll be more consistent with these videos. Consider subscribing if you haven't and like the video if this did add any value to your life to be a better human being. And this is me, D Nikhil Sai, signing off for today. Bye-bye.
