How To Become Top 1% Affiliate and make consistent 6 figure months - ft. Spencer Mecham | TNS 10

In this live interview, host Nikhil Sai talks with Spencer Mecham, a top ClickFunnels affiliate who has earned over $3 million in commissions and built a successful YouTube channel. Spencer shares his origin story—how a coworker’s $5,000‑a‑month vacuum‑cleaner review site sparked his interest in affiliate marketing—followed by early struggles, his first tiny Amazon commission, and the breakthrough viral Bitcoin‑buying video that earned $500 in commissions. He explains how he selects high‑quality offers (e.g., Legendary Marketer, hosting services, high‑ticket programs) by looking for proven, converting funnels. A core theme is mastering a single traffic source; Spencer favors YouTube and SEO because content continues to generate leads over time, while other platforms are treated as secondary. He details his YouTube growth method: commit to a regular publishing schedule (4 videos/week for six months), iterate on thumbnails and editing, and let the algorithm surface evergreen videos. Productivity tools (Todoist for personal tasks, Asana for team assignments) and a disciplined daily routine (work‑hours, family time, workouts) are discussed. Spencer emphasizes modeling successful affiliates, following mentors like Pat Flynn, Derral Eves, and Scott Simpson, and warns against pride and trying to reinvent the wheel. He mentions an upcoming affiliate‑marketing software launch tied to ClickFunnels’ OFA, and outlines his mentorship tiers (free content, paid course, future coaching program). The interview concludes with Spencer’s advice: pick one traffic platform, master it, produce consistent value, and scale gradually.

Yeah, but we are doing great. How about you?
Um, good. I, I actually have— I didn't mention this to you— I have COVID-19 right now.

And he has a pretty great YouTube channel. I personally follow him from a long time, from when I started affiliate marketing as well. So everyone who is watching this live, thanks for joining and please make sure to use hashtag live, hashtag replay if you're watching it on replay. And yeah, let's not waste any time. We have the man on the show, so let's pretty much get started with quick questions. So Spencer, like, please, we're excited to listen to your story. Like, how did it all start? Like, what was this affiliate marketing thing which took you to this amazing level?
Uh, yeah, so I'd been, I'd been dabbling in kind of trying to make money outside of a job for a while when I found out about affiliate marketing. So it wasn't my first like venture, but it started at a job. I was at just a regular job. I was at an agency, so I did SEO for clients at an agency, and I was kind of like just a cog in the, you know, the mass number of employees all just typing up articles and stuff. And I had a coworker show me a website that he had built, and he was like, he kind of turned around and showed me this website, and it was, it was a really ugly website. Like, it was terribly done. It was really poorly done. And, and I was, you know, and so when he first showed it to me, I can remember thinking I'm like, cool site, like that's ugly, like why would anybody buy anything from your site? But then he told me, he told me he was making like $5,000 a month off this website. And he's like, I haven't, you know, I put out a few blog posts a week or a month on this website and I make $5,000 a month. And the website was a vacuum cleaner, it reviewed vacuum cleaners. And I was like, are you kidding me? Like, that is nuts. And so that's when I, that's when I like got into the world of affiliate marketing because I was like, in my head it was like, if this guy can pull that off, right? With this ugly website reviewing vacuum cleaners, I can definitely do something more than that and make money as well. And it didn't work out that way. I mean, it took me years, and I built a site that was way better looking than his that made way less money. Spent a year, you know, building that site and not making money. Spent a lot of time on Instagram, all over the place. I mean, kind of like you talked about, settled down on YouTube and have done really well there since.
Sounds amazing, sounds amazing. Yeah, that's what everyone, every first entrepreneur does, right? He jumps off everything. And that's crazy, like some of the guys who you know is making $5,000 just as an affiliate commission reviewing vacuum cleaners. I think that's a great grab, that it creates a sign that yes, affiliate marketing is possible and it can possibly make good money for the people who are actually doing it, right? Sounds amazing. And just two ways, and I think it's a great question which can actually help beginner affiliate marketers learn something like how did you actually make your first sale? Now you're at a level where you're making multiple six-figure sales just like that from affiliate marketing, but how did it all start? And like, how did you make your first sale through affiliate marketing?
Well, so my first sale was only like, it was like 12 cents in commissions from an Amazon book that I sold on that blog, and that's what kind of steered me away from doing Amazon affiliate blogging because it just seemed so tiny. I like, hurt to to do all that work and make that little money. Uh, my first like real win was on YouTube. I made a video, like my, um, I made a video on my 5th video on the channel or something about how to buy Bitcoin. And it was, I was kind of one of the first people to do it because this is years ago when, when everyone on planet Earth wasn't yet buying Bitcoin, you know. And, um, and anyway, I got just, it exploded. Like that video ranked number 1 for how to buy Bitcoin. And then a month after that video ranked number 1, then Bitcoin price spiked and everyone on the whole planet was trying to buy Bitcoin. And so I made commissions. I made like $500. I sold like 5,000, I think, people into Coinbase using that video and made $10 on each of those 5,000 people. So that was like my first like, whoa, like I can win at this too moment.
Wow, that sounds interesting. That sounds amazing, right? So like, was that just luck or did you do it like intentionally that this should go viral and stuff like that? Like that. And like, it was from YouTube, right? The complete traffic source was from YouTube.
Yeah, it's just a YouTube video for how to buy Bitcoin, and then it had a link in the description that took them to a Coinbase referral link. It wasn't even like an affiliate program, it was just like a refer-a-friend link.
That's awesome, that's awesome. The, the video got viral, and it's all about like being consistent, right? Just whatever you're doing, just be consistent, keep providing value. That's how your video can boom up, right? So you made good videos, and then you make the money, right? And like a lot of people actually in the affiliate marketing space, they want to promote great products and services, but I see this huge problem that people try to sell random stuff, like crappy products especially. Like, like what do you think are the best affiliate programs out there for special beginners? Because I think like pro affiliate marketers can sell anything. Like how about beginners? Like what are the best affiliate programs out there for beginners?
Well, so it depends on their niche, right? So each beginner needs to pick some category that they're going to sell in, and then within that category, they need to look for the top offers. And to me, the top offers for new affiliates are the ones that have already, you know, they're really legitimate. They have already built funnels with multiple products. The funnels sell low-ticket and high-ticket products, and they've either the owner of the funnel has already proven that he knows how to make money off a funnel, or the funnel itself has already proven that it's a converting funnel. And so a lot of times I think beginners jump onto these hype, like, hey, I'm launching this new product, everyone should jump in and promote it. And so they go promote it, but 95% of funnels suck, they don't make money, and the beginners are always promoting these funnels. And so instead you wait, You wait till you find a guy that says, hey, you know, I've been doing this for 6 months. I've been pushing this product and this through this funnel. The funnel has these numbers. It converts well. It's proven to convert well. And it's got, you know, all you have to do is push the low-end products and we will push the high-end products. Best case scenario, they have a team of salespeople that actually push the high-end product for you, which is— so Legendary Marketer is one that I push really hard because of that. So yeah, if you, if you can find somebody that does all the selling for you and they're good at it, and then you just have to do— you basically just have to introduce the customer to any one of the products and then you're done. That's, that's what you're going for.
Absolutely. Yeah, that really makes sense. So whoever is watching, just make sure to pick, pick up your good niche and pick up the top offer which is valuable, which actually really makes sense to the customer who is putting in the credit card details. And make sure to pick the right offer which actually has a lot more value behind the scenes, like more value in the upsells. Like, uh, as Spencer mentioned, like, like Legendary Marketer has a lot of upsells, and the sales team personally takes care of the upsells. And the best part is your cookies are already attached to the person who actually purchased. So whenever they upgrade to the next order, you still make commission on automation, right? Like with the softwares, with good affiliate offers like the Legendary Marketer and stuff like that, you still make commissions, uh, with the right products. And people love to buy more because the product has insane amount of value, right? Exactly. Another great question, Spencer. Like a lot of people try to promote their offers and you know, as an affiliate marketer hardcore, that the main number one thing, the problem is traffic, right? Like what do you think is the best traffic source to promote affiliate offers? Because a lot of people say it's solo ads, Bing ads, it's Google Ads, Facebook is costly, or Facebook doesn't allow affiliate marketers, stuff like that, or building your own email list. Like I would like to hear about you, like what do you think is the best traffic source? To promote affiliate offers?
So first off, everything you do should, should push to your email list. So that, that should be like, no matter what traffic source you're using, your email list should be growing. But I like search engines, particularly YouTube, but YouTube or a blog or even Pinterest now. And the reason I like search engines is the way content works. If you make a YouTube video today, right, that might only bring in 10 leads that month, maybe even less, right? 10 leads that month. So then the next month you put out another YouTube video. Well, the beauty of a search engine is your previous month's video is still going to bring in leads. So that month, you know, the next month you get 10 from your current month's videos and 10 from your previous month's videos. So now you get 20 leads in February, right? And now in March you put out some more videos and you still get 20 leads from your previous videos, and you get 10 more leads in March from your March videos. So now you're getting 30 leads a month, right? And it grows exponentially to where you're getting hundreds of leads a month on autopilot because you've built up this, this empire of online real estate that just drives leads into your funnels and your affiliate links.
Absolutely. That sounds super cool. So whatever you're trying to do, just make sure that whatever you're trying to build, especially the traffic source, make sure it has a good lifetime value. As Spencer mentioned, following like SEO or, you know, good search engines like YouTube, which has a high rank value, which always have your video up and running. Like even Spencer had his video of for the Bitcoin one and it ranked for multiple years and he made commissions overall for years. And if it was just a Facebook ad, it would just last for one day and that account gets disabled when it searches the keyword Bitcoin. Boom, the business stream is crashed. And now as it is a search engine, he made continuous money on a long-term basis. That sounds interesting. So yeah, so YouTube is the one thing, right? And especially you're suggesting everyone to build their own list. That's the primary motto of doing anything in online business specifically, right? And everyone who's tried to— who tries traffic, who has their own funnel to sell affiliate products, but still they make a lot of mistakes. Like, what do you think are the multiple mistakes affiliate marketers do, especially beginners? Because they never made a first sale, they don't know how to do it. They just go here and there, they try to chat on Instagram, they try to put a Facebook ad, they try to upload a YouTube video, they do multiple things at a time. So what do you think are the main mistakes which affiliate marketers do and how to avoid them?
They don't master a traffic source. So, you know, I talked about YouTube being my favorite. It doesn't matter what your favorite is. You can do well on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, blogging, Quora. But most affiliate marketers do this. They, they spend about 2 months on one traffic platform like Facebook. You know, they get a few leads, maybe they have a few successes, and then they say like, ah, you know, this really doesn't work that well. So they get hyped up on another platform like Instagram, like, I'm gonna go try out Instagram now, right? And they go start posting on Instagram and they don't ever master one traffic source. They just master like the top level stuff. So like, yeah, I know how to do it, how to do affiliate marketing on Instagram, right? You just post pictures and hashtags, but, but they never really master Instagram. And the people that like actually put in the time to master a traffic source, they can drive traffic at will, right? Like The people that are really good at Instagram, right, they can get 10,000 followers a month on a brand new account without any problem. They understand the algorithm that well. So mastery of traffic is, is what makes affiliates win. Like, that's all that really matters. Like, email list is great, all that stuff's really important, but those that master traffic will make money no matter what. So pick a source and tell yourself like, hey, I'm going to get good at this source even if it takes a year. I'm going to get to where I like I understand everything about the algorithm. I understand exactly how to make content grow on it. And I'm going to make it work for me.
Absolutely. That sounds really interesting. So as every affiliate marketer does, the number one mistake is they really do is having inconsistent traffic source, or they really get frustrated with every single traffic they try. They bubble here and there. They just try random things and they don't really focus on one. And as you are focusing on YouTube, like everyone should be having their own thing, right? No matter if it's email list or solo ads or whatever, they just need to be consistent on one thing because when they can master the traffic, it really helps them to have an automated passive income with their own affiliate marketing business, right? And I'm really curious, I think this can really help a lot of people who are actually watching. I think you have around 45,000 subscribers, a little more about that. Like how did you actually grow your YouTube channel? Like if you can give a brief introduction of how you did it. Like a lot of people who want to start their own YouTube channel because I think Facebook and Instagram are not the thing to do. Work on about, especially for the content, right? YouTube is the way to go. Like, how did you actually grow your YouTube channel?
Um, I made videos. Honestly, that's where— yeah, that's where a lot of people stall out, right? They make 2 videos. They have— there's a billion dead channels on YouTube with 2 videos, 3 videos, 4 videos. Um, and I committed to do videos for 6 months, right? 4 a week for 6 months, which was, uh, 20 or 24 videos. So you've got to get into a habit of making videos because your first few videos just typically aren't going to do well. Like, it's just not how it's going to work. You know, maybe by your 10th video you're doing a little bit better, you understand a little bit more how to make people watch, your editing's a little better, your thumbnails have improved. But even then, you're not great, right? It's not till your 20th, 30th, 40th video that you really start to kind of get into a rhythm and start to see what's working for you, what's not working for you, things like that. So you really have to, you have to figure out a content plan to say, hey, I'm going to put out a video a week. Maybe it's a video a month, maybe it's a video every 2 weeks. Whatever it is, lock it in for a long period of time and tell yourself no matter what you're going to do that. Because there's a million things you'll learn along the way. You know, I could tell you about the algorithm and how to make good thumbnails and all that, but that'll all come just as you, as you make videos, look at your numbers, and, and figure it out. Um, that, that's where everyone stalls out because they just want the magic thing, you know. How do I make my first video? I want— how do I make that first video go viral? And it's like, it's not going to go viral.
You don't.
You make 100 videos and then one of those goes viral, you know.
Yeah, that, that's really the key, right? You just need to be consistent on posting content, and it's not just random content, it's about valuable content, right? Like, YouTube is super intelligent. It tracks like like how long the person is watching the video after they click and stuff like that, right? So no matter what, just having a hypey headline or, you know, clickbait picture, that doesn't only drive the traffic. You just have value content so that people can actually stick to the video, watch it continuously, and like it, comment it, engage with that person so that YouTube algorithms help you to get more reach organically, right?
Yep.
That's also super interesting. And as one of the top affiliates in the world, Spencer, like, what would be like your go-to list to give someone a list like, hey, like, just go and promote this offer, these offers are good, or this offer is good. Like, just name 5 of the affiliate offers which you would suggest to someone who's starting out with affiliate marketing.
Uh, Legendary Marketer, any email autoresponder, just whatever you like and use. They all have like the same affiliate program. Um, one funnel builder or landing page builder, same thing. They all have 30 to 40% commissions. You pick what you like and go in on it. I would say pick a host. So if you're— especially if you're in the MMO niche, hosts pay $100 commissions. Really, really easy to get people to sign up for those. Basically anyone that doesn't have a website is going to do it. Um, does that 4? You'll pick a host. And then I would say pick, uh, one really high-ticket offer. Um, so like I promote Super Affiliate Accelerator, if you're familiar with that. It's like a $5,000 offer. Go out there and find just something whopping big and promote that.
Sounds super interesting. So you're just saying like, just cover all the streams, just never let that money slip out, right? Like, make like, when you're doing tutorials, just do one on the email marketing and just recommend them like, hey, here is a marketing tool like ActiveCampaign or GetResponse, which I use. And then you go about the funnels, you teach them something, and then you say like, hey, sign up for ClickFunnels, get the free trial. And that's the same way you promote hosting and stuff like that. Sounds super interesting. So just make sure to be in multiple spaces so that you can serve everyone. And affiliate marketing is super easy when you really understand what you're selling and who you're selling and how are you attracting them. As simple as that, right? So yeah. And Spencer, like, as you're already doing big, big thing in affiliate marketing, like, how does it feel like, you know, to make money on automation? And like, what are you currently working on on your day-to-day basis? Right, so you're already doing great money. Like a lot of people think like money is the only thing what people strive for, but as an affiliate marketer already having good money which is being on automation, so how does it feel like? What are you currently working on with that?
It's awesome. And so I talk about everything that I've talked about today, like I spend 10 hours a week probably on my blog. I spend 10 to 20 hours a week on my YouTube channel. Growing those two things. And that's kind of my core traffic sources because those are the ones that are exponential and that have the potential for passive income. And so in terms of what I'm working on, I'm actually launching— so I have a plug, I guess, a software that I'm launching tomorrow. It'll be tied in, so it's kind of— I've been Thinking about how to launch it, I wanted to kind of do it as an affiliate because that's what I am, right? So it's an affiliate marketing software that'll help you, it'll help you retarget people that click your affiliate links, it'll help you manage all your affiliate links, it'll help you make money essentially is the goal of it. But I'm tying it into ClickFunnels OFA launch, and so everybody that buys OFA—
oh, this is great.
Yeah, so watch for emails tomorrow. That's, uh, that's So that's kind of what I've been working on for the last like 2 months is building out this software and tying it into this launch so that I can make affiliate commissions and sell my software at the same time.
Absolutely. That sounds amazing. So whoever is not joining the new OFA where Russell is being just live again after a long time teaching everyone for straight 30 days, you're also getting the bonus with Spencer who is giving away his new affiliate tool, which is going to help you make more money. Track your affiliate links and just retarget them in a different way. That's insane. And we would like to get more info on that, definitely. So who is just still thinking to join the offer or not, just go for it. I definitely mean that, right? That's amazing, Spencer. We are super excited to watch your tool come into the market and, you know, get boom, right? Sounds interesting. Yeah, yeah, congratulations and all the best for that. And like, what are the tools, or, you know, like, how do you manage your own things or your task for productivity? Because A lot of people who are at your level, like, I think have a planned schedule or you have specific things to do every single day, right? Like, what tools do you use for yourself to manage your projects or to manage your tasks for more productivity?
Um, yes, I use two apps. One's called Todoist and one's called Asana. Um, Todoist is just a daily to-do list. I keep it really short, but I've noticed that I just get a high out of checking check things off. And so Todoist, every day it adds, it adds a few like things that my daily tasks, like, hey, you've got to do a YouTube Short today, or you've got to do a post in your Facebook group, right? It adds those every single day and I check them off. And then it's also got my weekly goals in there and I add those and then drip them out throughout the week. Anyway, it's just a task manager. And then Asana is what I use for assigning tasks to my team members. So I've got an Asana whatever they're called, section for my blog team, my video team, and my VA. And every day they just get— it auto-populates assignments for them and they go check them all off. And it's really nice the way it's all done automatically, so I don't have to go assign them things unless I want to.
Yeah, it's cool.
It's, it's— Asana is really, really cool. You should use it even if you're a solopreneur without anybody on a team. You should build out your stuff in Asana. And then someday when you get a team, it'll be really, really easy to just copy and assign stuff to them.
Wow, sounds really interesting. So whoever is struggling to manage your own task, Asana is a recommendation from Spencer. So please make sure to check that out. And yeah, let's go to the next question. I think this is like a really personal question, like, like how does your daily routine look like for success? Like, do you wake up early or do you read books or do you work on your personal stuff or like be on masterminds every single week? Like, how does that go?
So it's like an every other day thing. So me and my wife switch off waking up early with the kids. So I wake up early every morning, but every other day I'm either just watching kids for 2 hours and she's doing like a workout, or if it's the morning that she's watching kids, I'll wake up, do a workout. Here's my checklist: workout, make bed, I read scriptures, I say prayers, I brush my teeth, I shower. Today I shaved for the first time in a long time.
Yeah, thank you.
And then, and then it's just a routine for about 2 hours and then I work. As much as I talk about how I hate 9 to 5 jobs, I work from 9 to 5 every day.
Yeah, it's an entrepreneur journey anyway, right?
By choice I work from 9 to 5.
Absolutely. Absolutely. That really makes sense, buddy. So yeah, that's how it goes with Spencer. Spencer, I think you really started your business later on. What would be your suggestion to a 20-year-old or you or someone who is just getting started right now? What would be your messaging to someone who is young right now who wants to start their own business?
Spend a couple of days locking in your business plan. One, don't be creative. Okay? So for your first business, just go look at what other people— go look at what someone's doing successfully and choose to model them. A lot of times people come to me like, "Hey, I've got this great idea. I'm going to do this, this, this." I'm like, "Well, have you like done anything in the past successfully?" And they're like, "No." I'm like, "Well, don't start with that great idea. Learn the ropes by modeling somebody, and then you can do your great ideas, you know, down the road." So that's the second thing. And then third, master it. So you pick a route, you pick somebody you want to model, and then go master, master exactly what they're doing. You say, "Hey, they're," putting traffic out on YouTube and they're making affiliate commissions off that and they're emailing their list every day from, you know, they're getting from YouTube. I'm going to do that exact same thing. I'm going to master the email marketing, I'm going to master YouTube, and I'm going to spend the next year just learning those two things, right? I'm not going to buy any— any course I buy will be learning those two things. Anything I put out or waste my time on will be focused on those two things because that really is where everyone struggles in the beginning, is they just kind of dilly-dally and they dabble in things and they don't ever become a master. And masters are the people that make money.
Absolutely. Like everyone who is just starting out, especially they get into this channel objection role, they just try this new copywriting thing, then you just get into these funnels, they just try ads, they try this email marketing again, and then they keep on jumping. So you're saying that consistency is the key, and mastering anything which you're being consistent is something which really drives your success. Accesses, right? That's super interesting. And Spencer, would you like to share the 2-car club award story? Like, how was the achievement? And like, what was your primary traffic source for the first dream car? And how did it go?
It was YouTube. Yeah. So I made— I had had some success on YouTube when I found out about ClickFunnels and the dream car. And so I was like, well, YouTube's the only success I've ever had. So I started a new YouTube channel. And I've talked a lot about focus on this. I literally focused on that, so I made a brand new YouTube channel. All it did was put out videos about ClickFunnels and making, you know, getting commissions with ClickFunnels. That was the whole channel, every single video. And all I did in the beginning was put videos onto that channel. And so I was focused on one traffic source, one affiliate product, and it only took, it took like 8 hours.
Hardcore affiliate marketing, absolutely. You went all in.
And it went pretty quick once I went all in that way. First few videos didn't do great, you know, but then one took off and I started to get like a new trial every day and it was awesome. And that kind of inspired me to put out more videos and it grew exponentially. And those videos still bring in trials like every day. Wow.
Like that's the key, right? They're still paying off. You did that a lot long, long ago and still they're paying off. That sounds really interesting. That's how you got your dream car. So like, how about the 2 Comma Club? Like really excited to know about that. So is that the same thing from the YouTube? Like, did you sell any, any of your own coaching or consulting services or your own course, or how does that go?
Uh, just scaled up from there. So same thing, I kept going on YouTube, but then added, um, other platforms. So added a Facebook group and started to push in the Facebook group. Once I felt good about that, that's when I added the blog and started to push in the blog. Um, and then more, most recently TikTok. And so those 4 traffic sources, right, are driving in constant leads and they go through these emails that sell them all the ClickFunnels products. Um, and I, I just add a new traffic source after I master an old one. So once I feel really good about one—
yeah, yeah, that's the key, right? So a lot of people just jump on, but what you did is like really makes sense, right? You master one thing, then you had your team handle that whole traffic source where you just you don't even need to look at that and you're getting on to the next traffic source. Now I think you have already outsourced the whole YouTube and the SEO thing. Now you're trying something else like TikTok or stuff like that, right? Sounds interesting. Yeah, yeah. But so let's get into the next question. Like, what are your life's biggest achievements and what are your next goals for the future?
My life's biggest achievements would be getting married and having kids and staying married. But bigger goals, yeah, I've thought of a lot of like goals. I'm all over the place on goals right now, but my most current, I guess the goal that I'm working on right this instant is I really want that YouTube play button. I've always, that's like been something I've wanted my whole life.
Yeah, you'll definitely get that in 2020.
Yeah, I'll get there. So, but I really want it soon. So that's kind of like my My short-term goal— long-term goal is to— I mean, affiliate marketing, there's so many different things out there for it, and so much of it's a scam, you know, and so much of it teaches people to do wrong things and to not be ethical. And so I'd like to kind of become the hub. I'd like Buildapreneur to be the hub for people that want to learn affiliate marketing. They want to learn to do it right. They want to learn to build real businesses, you know, as affiliates, not just like fly-by-night make some quick commissions and disappear businesses. And so my website, my Facebook group, the softwares I'm launching, it hopefully all ties into basically Buildapreneur being the best resource the internet has for becoming an affiliate marketer.
That, that's a great vision, Spencer. I really appreciate that, right? That sounds really interesting and exciting. I've seen a lot of people who are doing affiliate marketing very wrong, especially like promoting super scammy products. Now you want to— you had a great vision, which is being Buildapreneur, being the number one hub for ethical affiliate marketing and teaching the right stuff to the people who want to get into the real affiliate marketing business. So you are the deal. So whoever is watching this, big shout out to Spencer. So if you want to learn about affiliate marketing, just go and watch his YouTube video. You'll learn from scratch to scale to 7 figures and beyond. So he has the exact blueprint on how he has done it, right? That sounds interesting, and hope you'll achieve every single thing, especially the Play button thing. And I hope your software will boom up because you're definitely going to rock with it. And everything which you told, that the Builderpreneur being a hub for ethical affiliate marketing, I hope everything will be achieved in 2021. And let's go to the next question, which is like, what was your biggest mistake in your life? Uh, like, like anything related to business or anything related to your story between partners or something like that? Like What was your biggest mistake in your life?
The biggest mistake in my life. It wasn't a one-time thing, but it was a refusal to— it was pride in the beginning, not letting me seek help. So when I first started in affiliate marketing, right, I saw this guy's ugly website. I said, I can do that. And I just started to do it, like building the website, going, you know, writing articles, thinking I knew what I was doing. And I spent a year because I refused to take advice from other people and to not think that I could do something. And so I would say in the very beginning, start following somebody, even if it's just one person, say, I'm going to like match what they do. I'm going to do whatever they say, even if I don't understand why, or I disagree with it. I'm going to listen to this person, right? I'm going to buy a course maybe, and I'm going to just that one course, and I'm going to listen to every single detail of that course. But that was my biggest, my biggest struggle in the beginning was just thinking I could do everything. And I could figure it all out. And it took me a ton of time to do that.
Absolutely. Yeah, that really makes sense. So you just need to be open to anything which you're going to learn, right? So what are you getting into? You don't need to reinvent the wheel. There's already super successful people who are just doing it. So just go check them out and like, no matter what, just at least watch the free stuff and get an idea of what to do. If you really want their help, just go and pay them something so that they'll put everything on the table just like that, right? So it becomes like a done with your done for you stuff. Which you can just plug and play into your business and make that happen, right? So you just need to unlearn whatever you know earlier and just make sure that you redo and work on your personal level to make your business successful. Let's put it that way. And that really seems interesting. So if you would like to name someone, like, who are your main inspirations for success? Like, do you have a mentor for your affiliate marketing thing or something like that?
Or like any key persons involved in your success Uh, yeah, so, uh, man, there's a, there's a lot of people. Um, there's a couple guys that I follow on YouTube that I really love what they talk about on YouTube. One's named Darryl Leaves, one's named Scott Simpson, and he, um, he was my mentor for a long time. And, um, actually we're going to launch a product together now this year, so that's always cool. And you get to connect with someone, you know, that helped you a lot and help them. But, uh, So Derral Eves, Scott Simpson. I've always, in terms of like a model that I love and someone who I really look up to who's way beyond me, Pat Flynn's always somebody that I felt like does a really good job and is a really honest, down-to-earth guy who makes crazy amount of money off affiliate marketing. And so Pat Flynn's kind of who I'm, the long-term goal where I'd like to get.
It sounds interesting. So shout out to everyone who you named and Seems really interesting. You have great people in your timeline who actually taught you some stuff and you've been connecting with them on a personal level, right? Sounds interesting. And like, pretty simple question. Like, I think a lot of people are already watching this video and a lot more people will be watching this on replay as well. Like, where can our audience find you mentoring? So absolutely, it's a Buildapreneur. Like, if you could give a good introduction, uh, like what you exactly offer to the people. Like, if someone is super excited about the offer, just reach out and, you know, get you into your mentorship.
So I have levels right now. Um, I don't have like a full-on mentoring program that, that will come in August of this year. Um, so right now I've got free, if you go to buildwithprimo.com/free, that's kind of all the free content I can give to teach you a lot of stuff. If you go from there, I've got a paid course.
Okay.
And that's, um, like everything I have in a course, but no, you're not getting personal help from me. And then the third level, which will be the, like, mentoring program, won't launch till later this year. Right now, I'm kind of— to help myself build out that mentoring program and understand people and what they want and stuff, I do, like, one-on-one coaching, and you can find that on my website. It's priced to keep people from buying it, if that makes sense, because there's a lot of people that have asked for it. So it's priced high to keep, you know, 50 people from buying it and overwhelming me. But that's the only right— currently that's the only way to get one-on-one access to me. Unless you could go to my Facebook group where I answer every single question that gets asked there.
So yeah, I'll definitely add your Facebook group in the live comments so that everyone can join your Facebook group and get amazing value regarding how they can start their own affiliate journey and stuff like that. Sounds interesting. And any last words before we conclude the whole interview, Spencer?
I hope the theme of the interview has been to pick something, focus on it, and work on one thing. Anybody can succeed in affiliate marketing that does that. Anybody can become the master of a traffic platform, but you've got to pick something and then you've got to start learning it and putting content out, learning, putting content, learning, putting content out, and you'll win. Like, that's a— it's a formula that works every time.
Absolutely. Yeah, that's a really deep message. I'm not sure how many people are getting it. Like, you don't need to be like expert in the industry, like the top 1% expert in industry to put out content or talk about something. You just know something better than someone else, just put it out as a content piece and just have your own recommendation promotion, or just promote your own services. Try to— whatever you want to, just try to monetize your content. That's how Spencer hit multi-seven figures from his— for his own business and having his dream life, right? You can do that too. It's no magical science. Just be Being consistent is the only key. And I really appreciate Spencer. Thanks for giving me this amazing opportunity and hope everyone who was on this session really enjoyed the session. And a lot of people are actually watching this on YouTube as well. So please make sure to put hashtag live and replay if you have watched it. And again, thanks for the opportunity, Spencer. We really look forward to connect with you again next time and stay tuned for the next interview, guys. Looking forward. Cheers. Peace out.
Thank you.
