A founder regrets hiring salespeople before establishing a solid pipeline. Do 3-4 sales calls daily yourself first to build volume and understand what works. Only hire reps once you've nailed demand generation and your lead-to-booking conversion rate.
The second thing I've done is delegating too fast. If you're not even taking 3-4 sales calls a day, do not delegate it because now you will be taking your sauce away and hoping somebody else will do that for you when you don't even have enough volume where they can train and they will take 20 sales calls, they don't close one, you think it costs you too much, you delete them, then you repeat the process multiple times and you feel, you come to a conclusion that salespeople don't work. But the reality is you don't have enough volume to delegate to the salespeople in the first place. If that is the situation, first of all, work on your demand gen, your lead-to-booking ratio and your appointment setters before you actually delegate your sales.
