Hi, I'm Brigid. I'm a functional medicine dietitian. Welcome back to my kitchen today. I'm so excited to share an amazing smoothie recipe. It's a strawberries and cream smoothie that's amazing for blood sugar support. It's one of the recipes that we're giving you a sneak peek of to our blood sugar resets that we're doing April of 2023. You can get all the information about signing up for for the blood sugar reset if you're interested in 10 days of meal plans and recipes that are low glycemic in the show notes below. We're gonna get into this recipe and I think you guys are gonna absolutely not only love the taste, but also love the energy and the mood balance that you get from having those stable blood sugar. We tested blood sugar levels on this recipe and it led to a 17 point gradual increase and then a gradual decrease after. So great for steady blood sugar levels. Okay, let's get into it. I'm gonna start with 2 tablespoons of full fat coconut cream. This you'll get in a can. So this isn't coming in the refrigerated section, it's actually coming in a can that'll be really great for the texture. So we're gonna do that and then add 8 ounces of water. So that will be our liquid creamy base. Then I'm gonna add one scoop of this protein powder. You can do any protein powder that you like, ideally 20 of protein in a scoop or more. This is the be well by Kelly protein powder that I love. The grass fed beef, the vanilla flavor. Specifically for this recipe you want vanilla flavored protein powder. But this has in one scoop, 23 grams of protein. It's made from Swedish cows. Very clean ingredient list with just the grass fed beef protein isolates, the vanilla bean extract, and then monk fruit as the sweetener. You want very minimal ingredients in your protein powders. Okay, so that'll be our protein serving. Then I have a cup and a half of cauliflower rice, frozen cauliflower rice, to be very specific. That's an important aspect of adding great creamy texture to your smoothies and also helps with getting more of those sulfur containing vegetables and then more fiber. Then Next we have 3/4 of a cup of frozen strawberries, so we have the vegetables and fruits as our base. And then the next thing that I'm going to incorporate in here is a tablespoon of cashew butter, which I've already portioned out. So I'm just going to slide that in there and then the chia seeds. This will add additional fiber, some protein as well, and some of those healthy omega 3 fats. Then we're going to top off the flavor profile with some vanilla extract, some cinnamon. Let's see if I can get that in there. And then lastly, some salt. Okay, so now I'm going to blend it up and then we can try. It. Looks just like strawberries and cream. Okay, so now we're just gonna pour this into a cup and then we'll taste test. Oh, it's so creamy. And that pink strawberry color is beautiful. I can't wait to try it. Wow. Honestly, that taste is so good. The strawberries are perfect in that. Okay, so if you're interested in the strawberries and cream recipe, I'll include it below.
