I became dissatisfied with what I was doing because I was only treating symptoms. You know, patients would come into my office and then they would leave my office with a prescription. That was it. I started to realize I was a bit of a puppet of the pharmaceutical industry, putting out, you know, the drugs left, right, and center. And I wasn't helping people in terms of the underlying disease. I was only treating symptoms. I was treating the smoke and ignoring the fire. And I began to explore, well, why are these people getting these issues in the first place? What's causing Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and all of these immune dysregulations? And it took me on a very fascinating, satisfying journey to really deal with my curiosity, where I began to explore functional medicine, met some of the leaders in that field, and allowing me to explore the why and not just what I should do. I wanted to figure out why are these people becoming ill and what can we do for them?
