Healing Your Visibility Wound as a Female Entrepreneur Whose Business Is Meant for More
4 Sept 2026 · 20 min
Bunny Young shares how she healed her visibility wound by moving from perfectionism to authentic leadership. She sat next to entrepreneur Natalie Ellis on a flight to Scottsdale and realized true visibility comes from showing up in real life and building genuine relationships, not from chasing trends.

Here's me nervous to record this podcast episode as I am— feel like I'm doing one of those Instagram things of like getting ready for my documentary about healing visibility wounds as an entrepreneur. Hello and welcome back. I am your host of the Yes And Podcast, Bunny Young, serial entrepreneur, mom of 4 beautiful kids, and kind of nervous for this solo episode Because not only am I a recovering perfectionist— ah, what else? Like, chief marketing officer, chief content creator, recovering perfectionist. I used to have a lot of control issues. Now I have them under control. Is any of this resonating? And today, I want to share with you that the entire reason that this show exists is for any woman, any of you, who is done waiting for permission to build their life the way that they actually want it. And this week, I have a solo episode around a wound that I'm working with because something happened on a flight, a recent flight that I took, and I'm going to take you behind the scenes on all of the things. This was one of the most expansive interactions. I want to share with you about the flight, and the flight has to do with an individual that is one of the most well-known voices in the personal and professional development and female entrepreneur space. She is kind of a boss babe. And before I get there, this whole 24-hour period was just so expansive, and it actually started a couple days before when I decided that I was going to go and take a 1-day trip to Scottsdale, Arizona to go to this event. I had met a woman named Lindsay who was hosting this Powerhouse Women event in Scottsdale at a book signing event that I went to to support some friends. And while I was there, I met her, and her energy was amazing, and then I didn't even know who she was, and she mentioned this Powerhouse Women thing. And we also had this really cool connecting human moment where she was Her blood sugar was tanking, and I am the snack queen, and so I gave her these almonds and then just connected on a human level. I didn't know who she was from Instagram. I didn't have that kind of relationship, but I'm at a phase in my life where I'm just trusting the energy of people. And so she made the invitation. Now, I remember that a client of mine was also going to her event, flying to her event from Portugal, And I'm like, wow, like, if this woman has created the safety and the magneticism to be able to draw this in, a person flying all the way from Portugal that can't even explain what this event is, and now this woman is standing in front of me, I feel like this is the universe saying that I should be there. So I sent her a DM, she sent me the link, and I signed up to go to surprise my client. And also, there were at least 4 women that were taking the stage that are very good friends of mine, and I wanted to go to support them. So fast forward to a couple days before this event. I committed to going to this event maybe June, July, and the event was the first week of August, and I had it on my calendar. I had planned it, and then my husband told me he had military duty, and so he was not going to be able to come and help me with the baby. So option 1 is I go by myself with the baby, which is totally doable, and my service dog. Option 2 is we had already booked these flights, and I could swap out the tickets and take my 15-year-old daughter with me. And The thing that I'm not telling you about the plane is that, in order to make all of this happen and be really easy for me, I actually booked a semi-private jet to do this flight. It went from one small airport— well, kind of small airport— to the small Scottsdale Airport, and since I was flying in for less than 24 hours, it just made it a lot easier for me. I don't need to justify that to you, and I'm telling you that because it felt very expansive to then switch tickets and have my 15-year-old go on this semi-private flight. And a couple weeks before, my daughters, my 15-year-old, my 9-year-old, had told me they didn't want to travel as much. And I think airports in and of themselves are very overstimulating. And so I'd shared with my 15-year-old, hey, we're not going on a commercial flight, so you don't have to worry about that. And then she got excited because she'd never flown private before, and so— or semi-private. So fast forward to us sitting there in the waiting area with just a couple people. These planes fit, I don't know, maybe 18 people, and it wasn't full at all. And my daughter is getting the, like, the little snacks and the hot chocolate and all of this stuff, and she's sitting there smiling, even though it's like 100 degrees out. She wants this hot chocolate. And then I have my 15-year-old and the duality of this tiny little baby that is with me as well that is my firstborn and my— You know, last born, my youngest. My youngest and my oldest, I guess that's how you say it. And I hear, Bunny! Bunny! Bunny! And like, it's escalating, right? The 3rd time, I had this thought that I was just like, God? But it was a British woman, and I'm like, when did God become a British woman? These are my thoughts. If you ever want to know what's actually going on behind the scenes in my brain that has created multiple millions of dollars in this world, this is basically what's happening. And I stood up. There's like this wall with kind of plants next to me, and I stood up and I could see just over the plants, there's this blonde, beautiful woman wearing this baby carrier with a baby in it. And It ended up being Natalie Ellis, the Boss Babe herself. So if you don't know who she is and you've been living under a rock, she has built the— I believe it's the largest female entrepreneurship education space and community in the world. She's one of the most, like I said, well-known voices in not just the personal development and entrepreneurship or in female entrepreneurship space, but in the entrepreneurship space, period. I could go on and on and on. And so I figure out where this voice is coming from. By the way, it wasn't God. It's Natalie. And I stand up, and this is the part— I just told you what my multimillion-dollar brain does. So Natalie has an 8-plus-figure business, and it might even be 9 at this point. Like, look her up, buy her brand-new book. It's amazing and all of the things. And— These are the words that come out of her mouth, and I think this is just a reaction, but stay with me here. She goes, what are you doing here? And the smartass in me wanted to be like, well, Natalie, they have really good hot chocolate, so I thought I would just hang out and maybe use the facilities before, you know, taking the 45-minute drive back to my house. And what I realized what she was asking was, was I going like to Vegas or Scottsdale or wherever else this was going? And I said, no, I'm going to Scottsdale. And I I said, I'm going to see you speak. I'm going to surprise a client, and I'm going to the same event that you were going on. And she's just like over the moon that we're flying together. So she goes and she gets on the plane. I was waiting for somebody to help me with the service dog. So maybe about 5 minutes later, I go out with the person who has our luggage and helping me with the service dog and the stroller, and I have my oldest daughter. Oh, my goodness. My youngest daughter. We get on the plane, and we are sitting like in row, let's say, 9 and 10. And so it's one seat on each side of the plane, and I'm just kind of counting: 1, 2, 3. And we get all the way back there, and I see Natalie, and I'm like, oh, hey! You know? And then I look, her seat is 8, and mine is 9. So now, not only are we taking the same tiny little plane to Scottsdale together, But now we're sitting together, and I sit down and I say this, what are the odds? She turns around and she looks at me, and I say, what are the odds that we're sitting together on this tiny little plane? Not only are we taking the same flight, but we're sitting together. And she says, well, you're Bunny Young, so pretty good. And I just stopped, and I took this moment because That reflection, her saying that, there— I struggled to share this with you guys because of all of my friends who have all of these followers and are really well-known in the female entrepreneurship space, I hold this relationship so sacred because I'm the safe space and the safe friend that doesn't care how many freaking followers you have. I don't care You know, about your platform. I don't care about your audience size. I don't care how much money you've made. What I do care about though is you, your energy, your happiness, your family, and it matters to me to have that authentic relationship. And so sharing this from the perspective of sitting on a plane with Natalie Ellis is not really— my goal. And having a friend who has built an empire believe in my power in that moment and reflect it back of all of the incredible things that I have done and overcame and continue to do in my life, it's like, in her mind, I can't tell you exactly what she was thinking, and I kind of know, in her mind, Last year, I had a heart surgery that I was not sure I was going to live through. So manifesting that a friend of mine is sitting in the seat in front of me on this plane is no big deal. And that was the energy with which she shared it with me. And we had this beautiful conversation with our babies that are 2 months apart that she And I were just reflecting on— we met in 2020, and she was living in LA, I was living in Virginia, and it's 2026, and here we are on a semi-private flight to Scottsdale holding our babies with my 15-year-old behind us. If those women from 2020 could see us now, would they believe it? And it was just such a beautiful, expansive moment, and to share this with you and share it with my 15-year-old, and then to get to the event, and as I am sitting there in the audience, to have these women come out on stage, they have the microphone, and they're, you know, waving directly to me or sharing an experience that we had been through directly from the stage. I don't know who needs to hear this, but your message is valuable, and your value deserves to be visible. And there's so many stories that we tell ourselves about our words not being good enough, our message not being good enough, or that we don't have X amount of engagement, we haven't cracked the algorithm. Don't give up though, because there is at least one person in your audience that you are making a profound impact on that you have no idea how life-giving hearing your story is. I got off of that plane, did the event, got back on the plane, and between the 20-something hours that I was there, I expanded so much because of how I allowed myself to be visible, and I allowed others to see me and reflect that back to me. That was pure medicine. It was that event that I decided that I wanted to do a live event in 2027, that I'm going to do it at Disneyland, and that it would be an event where all of you was welcome. It would be the first-ever holistic entrepreneurship live event. And that doesn't come Yeah. From sitting in front of a computer and trying to hack an algorithm. That comes from being in community and having people reflect back this incredible version of you that you can't read the label from inside the bottle. And until you get out and until you alchemize your energy in your community, you really can't see it. So after that, You can post that on Instagram. You can make a reel of that. You can chop up this long-form content, but you have to live life and document it in order to create content. If you just create content from what's trending without living, there's no life in your content. And sharing this story, I even messaged Natalie prior to sharing this story and was like, is this okay that I— share this? Like, do I have your permission to share your story? And it brings me back to a Miley Cyrus quote that I really find profound when you are second-guessing yourself on whether you should share your story. So the quote is, I didn't talk badly about you. I talked about what you did to me. If that makes you look bad, that's between you and your behavior. And psychologically, it just shifted this. Yes. For me, because of my relationship with Natalie, I was more than happy to ask for her permission, but actually the person that I was asking permission from was myself to show up and share this with you and to be visible. Because yes, this podcast will get more listens and more views because she's probably going to share it on her story and because it has her name in it, And you're still here at this part of the episode, not because of the 2 soundbites that I gave you of what she said. You're here because of me and because of the energy that's evoked as you're listening in this community and what you think is possible. Because watching somebody who is fully committed, who has made themselves findable, consistent, unavoidable, undeniable, in their niche does something to you, and it makes you ask this question: Am I doing that? Am I playing full out? Am I actually showing up the way I say that I want to, and honestly and authentically? And if the answer is not all the way or not yet, then my invitation to you in this podcast is To sit down with that. And this week, I sat down with my podcast producer, and we had the most honest conversation about this experience that I want to curate for you and this journey that I want to take you along for. And when you subscribe and when you follow, like, you get to see the evolution of this visibility— what it is, what it could be, and what's transforming as we speak— and you also get to be a part of it. And that's all about what this episode is about. And it's funny because I literally also just came off of a call with a coach that I have access to through Natalie's Boardroom Mastermind, and she is going to listen to this. And she said, Bunny, this is the second session that I have told you that you're amazing, and the world deserves to know that. And she's like, I could coach you on content. I could coach you on all of this kind of stuff. And at the end of the day, like, you just have I had zero idea of how much the world needs to hear this. And because— and she's right about the fact that because I've already built the business, because I've already experienced semi-retirement, there's a big part of me that doesn't care how many followers. I don't care how many downloads the podcast gets until now, because every single download and every single follower is somebody seeing my journey and being inspired. To start their own. Don't follow, don't download, don't subscribe, don't leave a review on this podcast unless you're ready to really live your yes and life and have your life transformed and bring all of you. That's the definition of yes and. It's yes, I'm a mother of 4 and I am an entrepreneur. Yes, I have a multimillion dollar revenue stream through several companies and I still am committed to working To the hours to be able to pick up and drop my kids off from school. Like, the whole self. That's what I have for you today. Like, that is my offer. That is the journey, and that's why we're here. And I know if you're still here at this point in this episode, because it's a little bit longer than 10 minutes, that something landed. And so I want you to just sit with that, and not just sit with it, but also take action. As soon as you're done leaving a review and downloading and subscribing, To the Yes And Podcast and sharing it with a friend, I don't want you to just have a journaling prompt or be like, oh, that was a great episode. I'm inspired. I want you to identify the thing that you've been half in on and identify what it would look like to go 100% in, to go all in. 100% is easier than 99%. And when you fully commit, I want you to tag me in the content, tag Natalie in the content, And show up the way that you were designed to deliver value in this world. So, subscribe wherever you took me today, wherever— if you were on the beach, if you're in the shower, if you're doing bedtime and you're letting your kiddos listen to the Yes And Podcast as inspiration for the future generations. I'm sending you so much love. I absolutely appreciate you being on this journey with me. Tag me in your takeaways. Tag me in the thing you're going all in. Share this with someone who deserves to hear it and you want to motivate, you want to inspire, you want to take on this journey with you. And I will see you in the very next episode. As always, yes and! Yes and!
