Two traders rank common trading tools. Fair value gaps, Fibonacci, and RSI get dismissed as overrated and unreliable. Volume profile and order flow are underrated because they show where large positions sit and who actually controls the market.
Fair value gaps.
Overrated. The idea is right and they work, but without volume data you can't tell which ones are real.
Volume profile.
Underrated. This is how you actually see what ICT was trying to teach you— where the largest positions are in the market. Fibonacci. Overrated. Too many ways to anchor your levels. Inconsistent. Order flow. Underrated. Shows you who is really in control in real time. Pair it with the volume profile and you have the full picture.
Trading patterns.
Overrated. Too subjective and there's no logic behind them. You'll never trade them with conviction.
Supply and demand: overrated.
Right idea, wrong tool. You can't measure supply and demand without volume.
ICT: overrated.
Right idea, but flawed execution. There's no real data behind it if you're not using volume and order flow.
RSI indicator: overrated.
