The Only Candle I Trade Daily

Jesse Rogers trades the first 5-minute candle of the day, marking its high and low at 9:30am ET. He enters on a 1-minute chart only when a fair value gap appears and price retests with an engulfing candle. Risk-to-reward is fixed at 3:1.

I only trade this one candle and it consistently gives me days like this, this and this. And it is so stupid simple that I trust it more than any strategy that I've tested in the last nine years I've spent as a trader. And if you're struggling to stay consistent, this is exactly what you've been missing. It's called the first candle rule and it removes every single point of doubt from your trading because every morning you know exactly what you're looking for. You just mark out the high and the low of the first five minute candle that forms between 9:30 and 9:35am Eastern Standard Time. Then you drop down to the one minute chart and wait for the high or the low to break. Now, breakouts in this strategy have two key factors that make them valid. Number one is a fair value gap. This is just a three candle pattern that is created when the market moves with a lot of force and leaves a gap between the first and the third candles. Wick. Now the next key factor we need is a candle to retest the fair value gap and get engulfed. And once we have this engulfing candle, we can enter the trade and place our stop at the first candle of the gap. And for our target, there's no overthinking or picking a higher time frame level because we just target a fixed 3 to 1 risk to reward. This means that on your winning trades, you make three times as much as you lose when you're wrong. Now save this video so you can study this strategy again and again.
