The Quickest Way To Make ANYONE Laugh

Charlie Houpert explains how to make anyone laugh by using social rapport and mirror neurons. He shares a personal story and argues that practicing laughter in conversations builds connection and humor.
What's up everybody? This is Charlie from Charisma on Command. And today I want to talk about how to make someone laugh. Now comedy is amazing, but the topic is really deep, right? Comedians spend their entire lives dedicated to the craft of how to make people laugh. That's not what we're going to do today. We are going for the fastest, easiest, quickest way to make someone laugh. That quite frankly, is probably going to offend those of you who really value witty, clever, sharp humor. But it's amazing. So I want to dive now into this video and I want to ask you to pay attention. See if you laugh and what is going on in the video when that occurs. At the end, I'll come back and talk about what happened and how you can apply that to your own life.
Her child. Right. And I mean just a couple weeks ago and I had to stop myself because I realized this is. There's something disturbing or like potentially abusive and long lasting. But the other week there was just such a golden opportunity. I was going down the stairs and my oldest son was coming down the hall. It's so wrong. This proves absolutely I don't go out enough at all because when he came around, I just jumped down and said boo. He sprung out his legs and his arms and went out. Honestly, scared the bejesus out of him. Wait, so his stop laughing? Well, of course. The way you describe it, like a cartoon, like his legs then you're gonna wanna do that again. Why not? You have to stop yourself though. Yeah. No, you have to stop yourself. Yep. Because you're the parent. Yeah, yeah, but you guys know what I'm talking about.
So what was your reaction? I am genuinely curious because when I watched this the first time, I could not help but smile as she fell over and cracked up in her chair. And I was thinking the entire time, what is going on here? Like this story isn't even particularly funny. But. But she's just so into it and it's so endearing and so contagious that I couldn't help but feel it too. And actually what's going on is something that is occurring in all humans brains, which is we have these things called mirror neurons and they cause us to feel the feelings of the people around us increasingly. So if we're in rapport with those people. So if you didn't laugh, it might be because you hate Julia Roberts or you're just not in a great mood right now and you didn't feel like falling into sync with her. But if your close friend or buddy starts to crack up uncontrollably and you're in rapport with them, you will not be able to resist the urge to laugh. The way to do this then, is not necessarily to laugh at your own jokes when you're out there telling jokes. It is to start by laughing more heartily at other people's jokes. Because what happens is now you start to build a cycle. So you walk up to them with a giant smile on your face. You're interacting, they say something, and rather than being reserved, you allow yourself to just start to chuckle a little bit more of that joke. They pick up on that, their mirror neurons clicking. They start to get funnier when, which makes you laugh more, which makes them laugh more. And then by the time that you are telling your own story, you're in the same kind of fun mood that Julia Roberts was in when she was telling this one. So go ahead. I give you this mission legitimately. Now, go out today, find yourself in conversation with someone, and remember to laugh more. Right? It might start off as feeling fake or false, but I promise you that within just a couple of seconds, if you commit to it and you are in rapport with this person, you will find that it becomes genuine. And you can carry that feeling around with you for hours or even the entire day. Day. That's how you create emotions in other people. Speaking of other emotions, there are four of them that lead to amazing first impressions anytime. And if you get these in the right order, you'll make a great impression. If you do them kind of in the wrong order, you might not make such an amazing impression. So if you want to know what those are, go ahead and click the link in the description or that'll pop up right here and you'll be taken to another page where you can drop your email and see that video. It's less than seven minutes and it'll show you something that most people flat out do not know about their first impressions. If you like this video, please go ahead and subscribe. Write in the comments if you laughed. I'm watching this by myself. I am genuinely curious if this made you guys laugh, so let me know. And if you have any other videos of charismatic people that you think I should break down, go ahead and leave those in the comments too. I am Charlie, and I hope that you enjoyed this video.
