If I just lost my job and I needed to get work ASAP for cash flow, this is what I'd do. Sign up for one of those hospitality gig roles, like through Sidekicker, where you can literally get a shift the next day and they pay you instantly. I would start reaching out to my network as soon as possible. I would see if anyone could help me with a referral or just had some casual temp work that I could start doing for them. What I'd also be doing is putting myself out there on LinkedIn. I'd be putting up a post saying who I was, what I wanted, what I could do, and say I was open for casual work until I find that next long-term role. yourself open to casual and temp work because there's a lot of companies out there that are wanting people to just come in on that kind of casual basis or short-term basis to complete a certain project. The final thing I'd be doing, which isn't as instant but is creating opportunity, is I'd pitch myself into 20 companies that I want to work for regardless of whether they're advertising or not. I'd reach out to them and see if they had an opportunity that I could jump on straight away. These are things I've done personally when I've been out of work and needed money, and these are some things that you can start doing today as well.
