HOW TO PASS THE SCREENING CALL. #interviewprep #interviewcoaching #interviewquestions #interview

Chloe Spillane breaks down the screening call: nail the first 30 seconds with a tight self-pitch, answer about ten recruiter questions concisely in 20 minutes, and watch for signals like genuine engagement and time for your questions. A rushed call means you didn't advance.

If I'm being honest, you can tell if a recruiter is going to progress you through to the next stage in the first 30 seconds of your screening call. The screening call is the least interrogative part of the process, but it is also the most important part of the process because this is the gatekeeper as to whether you get through to the next stage. The recruiter is going to likely have 10 questions that they're going to go through with you in the interview, and they're probably not going to want it to last more than 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes, it is your job to answer those 10 questions as concisely and on point as you can. Everything needs to be high level, and they just need to know that you have the basic qualifications and understanding to be able to do the job. So they can progress you through to the more behavioral type interview. You need to be nailing your self-pitch in those first 30 seconds. You'll know if you nail that pitch for two reasons. The first reason is if the recruiter shows a genuine interest in you and what you've been doing, that means that they'd like you. If they cut the interview short, probably not going to make it through to the next round. But if you are in that screening call, they show a vested interest in you, they take it through to the full 20 or 30 minutes, and they give you time to ask your own questions, highly likely that you're getting through to that next stage. I'm running a free interview to offer masterclass in June this month where I will show you exactly what you need to be doing to make sure that you're making it through to that next stage. Comment offer and I'll send you through the sign-up Thank you.
