Connor Beaton argues that men who worship their partners surrender power and become easy to manipulate, leading to sexless marriages and collapsed attraction. He critiques the "happy wife, happy life" mantra as a boundary-erasing trap that reduces men to serving their partner's happiness.

You've handed all the power to her automatically just by being in the relationship and saying, "You are superior to me." She holds all the power in the relationship because you see her as somebody to be worshiped and you as the worshiper. It makes you easy to manipulate because what ends up happening is eventually she starts to feel like, "Oh, I have all the power, all of the influence in this relationship." At the core of like happy wife, happy life, right? If you took that really at face value, it's like, I exist to make my wife happy. Happy so that my life can be good. This kills polarity. So the odd thing that a lot of the worshipers find is that you find yourself in a relational dynamic where very quickly into the relationship, polarity's collapsed. And very often these men, what I have seen, find themselves in a largely sexless relationship or marriage because they were worshiping a woman who wanted to maybe not be treated in that way.
