A golf coach suggests using low-risk shots like second shots on par-5s to experiment with swing changes. Treat these moments as free swings where a mishit costs nothing, so you can break bad patterns without risking your score on tighter holes.

Here's an easy hack for if you're ever struggling on the golf course, especially with your golf swing. So a lot of the times we can get into some pattern that we're just not really sure what to do with, and we're hitting our approach shots, especially in the par 4s, we're trying to hit the green, so we don't have a lot of room to kind of screw around and try new stuff. Great place to test stuff out though, second shots on par 5s, especially if you're laying up. If you hit it bad, doesn't really hurt you that much. If you hit it great, that's awesome, now you've got a new feel for the day. But it can be really effective if you're struggling and need to get in a free swing.
