If you want to become an elite-level ball striker, one of the things you need to do is develop a knockdown shot. Really, when we think about it, like with our irons, we're not trying to hit the ball as far as humanly possible. What we're actually trying to do is just control the distance. If you're always hitting knockdowns in the greens, what you'll end up finding is it's really easy to hit your number, and it's really easy to play in the wind and manipulate the ball around different scenarios. Scenarios, because you can really control the face a lot better since the club face isn't as aggressively turning through the golf ball. So if you want to hit your irons better, start hitting more knockdowns into the greens.
