If you want to play golf at a high level, you need to learn how to maximize your margin for error. It's real easy when we're feeling good and we feel like our game's solid to go out there and try to pick the best possible line, hit it real close to the pin. But in reality, if you want to play consistently good golf, you need to be able to maximize your margin of error. So all that means is you want to pick targets where you can make mediocre golf swings and still end up with pretty good outcomes. What's going to happen is you're going to flush more balls because you're going to be a lot more relaxed. And you're also going to end up shooting bit better scores simply because we're not really making any big mistakes simply by the fact that we're picking better targets. So if you can do those 3 things together, it really creates this effect where it doesn't really matter what level of shot you end up hitting, you're always going to score pretty solidly just because you're picking the right targets and you're giving yourself a decent margin for error.
