Rigid position work hurts your golf game because every shot demands different adjustments. Instead of chasing one fixed spot, use core principles that let you adapt to changing lies and conditions while staying consistent.

I think rigid position work with your golf swing, especially on the golf course, is one of the worst things you can do for your game. Reality is your golf swing is going to change a lot shot to shot, and instead of focusing on a particular position you need to be in, I think it's a lot more helpful to think about principles that you're applying throughout your golf swing, kind of ranges of movement that you're okay with. What's going to happen is you're going to be a lot more free to kind of just have the general sense of where you're supposed to be and then focusing on executing on that rather than being in a particular spot because your golf swing is going to change, lies are going to change, and you don't want to feel like you're stuck in one way of swinging the golf club. You want to use the principles that you're using to your advantage to help you hit better shots.
