If you're a junior golfer and you want to play golf at a high level, one of the things that you need to do is to stop going out there and trying to hit good shots. Instead, what you need to do is focus on building a strategy that allows you to hit a ton of bad and mediocre shots and still be able to score consistently. That really is the key to being able to have a high level of performance as often as possible. And so the way that you do this is you simplify the objectives on each individual shot. So what do I mean by that? On my tee shot, if I can just hit the ball in play and send it as far as I'm comfortable with, that's good. I can lose the ball right, I can lose the ball left, I can hit a little low on the face, a little high on the face. At the end of the day, I don't really care. As long as it's accomplishing the objective, I'm fine with it. And you want to do that for your entire game. That way you're always comfortable out on the golf course. You can just focus on executing to the best of your ability. It doesn't have to be perfect.
