Range practice refines mechanics, but you only discover what actually works for you on the course. Real conditions, bad lies, and pressure situations force you to build a reliable game that holds up when it matters.

One of the things that you'll notice will happen when you start playing more golf more routinely is you'll figure out the way that you like to hit particular shots in a way that you won't get from just working on specific technique on the driving range. You have to be able to go out on the golf course, actually figure out like what works for me even when I'm uncomfortable, even when I'm hitting bad shots. It's, it's frustrating to get to that place, but once you do, you'll have something that will really hold up under pressure. So be afraid to go out there, struggle a little bit, and figure out what works for you.
