Alec Couros was on Air Canada flight AC1119 to Regina when a two-hour delay turned into a cancellation after 45 minutes on the tarmac. Air Canada gave passengers a $10 Tim Hortons voucher, no hotel, and blamed runway paving instead of addressing the real maintenance problem.

So we're in Pearson Airport. We are on flights. What was it here? Air Canada 1119 from. It was expected to go from Toronto to Regina tonight. Anyway, it was way delayed about two hours. And then we finally got on the flight, and we had to sit there for quite a while, probably about 45 minutes. There was maintenance people on the entire time. And at some point we got called. The pilot said basically that they're cancelling the flight, and it was due to the runways being paved in Regina. Anyway. We didn't get reimbursed for hotel rooms. We're actually sleeping on the floor here, which is not. Not that great. It's late and we have an early flight, so we can actually get out in the morning. But no reimbursement for a flight. All I got from this experience was like a $10 food voucher for anything that's open, which is a Tim Hortons. Now, I'm not. You know, Tim Hortons is good and all, but 10 bucks is not what you get for this experience of sleeping on an airport floor or overnight. So that's our experience trying to figure out what's up with that. The big deal is they're saying it's not their fault because the runways were being paved in Regina, but when there's maintenance people on they the entire time and they decide to pull it later on, we want to figure out what's going on. Air Canada, I think you owe us a whole lot of stuff. At least some vouchers. A night in a hotel would have been really nice. There's a lot of people very angry at this. So how are you going to come through with some customer service and kind of. Right, what's wrong here and take some responsibility for this flight? I mean, honestly, there are some issues here, and I don't think you're taking responsibility for whatever mechanical problems or maintenance there was. So, anyway, let's see where this goes.
