Anwar White (single speaker) presents a short sponsored YouTube video promoting the Hulu series "Queenie" and offering dating-coach advice inspired by the show. Key guidance: observe 3–4 weeks no-contact after breakups to form a new single identity; vet partners across safety domains (physical, emotional, intellectual, financial, spiritual); form a "love jury" of 2–3 trusted, healthy people to advise on relationships; use preference-based language when setting boundaries ("I would prefer if" / "I would feel most comfortable with"); explore inner-child and mother-related wounds. Final call-to-action: watch Queenie on Hulu (released June 7th).
Girl, you're gonna have to watch this show. Queenie. Now, I have partnered with Hulu and the Onyx Collective to share my insights as a dating coach in terms of how can we navigate our love lives even when we're in our quarter life crisis at 25. Let me just show you exactly some of my Queenie moments.
So, girl, this is me doing questionable things in public.
And this is me with some random Italian guy who looked like Clark Kent, who I had a very good time with. And by the way, if you're ever in Italy and a gu you to go to gelato after the club, girl, do it number one. Let's talk about breakups. If you have a breakup, you need to go no contact with a guy for at least three to four weeks to create your new identity as a single woman. Now, I'm not going to tell you what Queenie did, but let's just say she did not do that. Next, we're going to have to vet these white guys. Now, Queenie has her own way of vetting them. I don't necessarily think that I would do it that way, but I think it's important for you to understand and think about, does this guy keep you safe? Physically, emotionally, intellectually, financially, spiritually in all of the ways? And if he doesn't, we have to let him go. Next, you're gonna have to have a love jury, a group of two to three individuals that will help you make your love decisions and help you navigate. You can't have people that their love lives are a mess. They can't be in your jury. You cannot have people that are jealous of you, want to see your downfall, because they will sabotage you. So get a love jury to make sure that they can give you a different perspective on what's going on in your life so that you can make the best decisions possible. Next, boundaries. Now, if you're someone of color, you already know that we are often not taught how to actually set boundaries. And so what I want to share with you is using the language I would prefer if or I would feel most comfortable with, and then sharing your desire. Right? And you can practice this at work, with family, with friends, with your romantic interests, and then finally really exploring your inner child wounds. And for most people of color, it's often going to be around exploring your mother wounds. A lot of people talk about daddy issues. No, for many of us, it's really about mother wounds. So I love that in this show, Queenie was able to explore that. And ultimately it has helped her in her healing journey. Now, I hope this helps you bring some insights to your love life. Please go and watch Queenie on Hulu. It comes out June 7th. And I hope that you honor her journey to her queendom in the same way that you're honoring yours.
