A dating coach (Anwar White) explains two concise, non-confrontational language templates for stating personal boundaries: using “I would prefer…” or “It makes me uncomfortable when…”. The clip emphasizes that these phrasings reduce defensiveness, improve boundary-setting in dating/relationships, and invites viewers to follow, book a consultation, or listen to the coach’s podcast for more on boundaries.

Hey girl. If you have issues with your boundaries, stating them, or even having the language to set them, then keep on listening. So after being a dating coach for over 10 years, one of the things that I've learned is that we don't know how to set boundaries. Nobody teaches us this stuff. So I want to give you some language that might be able to help you in setting boundaries. So I like two different ways and you can comment below which one that you prefer. The first one is using the word prefer and the second way is using the word comfort. So I would prefer if you or it makes me uncomfortable when you.
This enables you to be heard and understood versus telling somebody about themselves or telling them off where the response is defensiveness and attack back or giving a judgment or an opinion which makes it debatable, right? And if you're doing one of those two things, then that's probably why you might feel discouraged to actually set a boundary because it hasn't been fully respected and there has been some sort of confrontation or attack. If you want to learn how to be a boundary bitch in the most positive sense, keep on following and like. For more I will just say this. You have to be able to boundary well to date well to get into the best relationship of your life.
