Mad Real said. As a single mom, do I bring up my son right away? No, no. Girl. Put it on your profile as someone who has children, girl. And if you ask about it, ask about it. Nobody's trying to date a mom. Meaning? Meaning someone who's, like, focused on their child and, like, everything is about parenting, they want to date a woman. So when you are dating, you got to get into your woman bag. Put your woman hat on, not your mom hat. That's what I mean by that. If you ask about the kids, let's talk about them. But other than that, let's talk about you as a woman. And this is such a really great question because the underlying tone here is, and this happens for so many parents, myself included, sometimes you can lose your identity and you don't even know who the hell you are when you're a parent. So please understand that while you are dating, you are also going to have to try to find yourself too.
What do you like? I gotta do the things that I like, right? Maybe I like to paint. I might have to go to a painting class every week, have somebody babysit my son, things like that.
