A short monologue (YouTube video) by Anwar White exploring why people—especially women of color—find it hard to ask for help. The speaker links reluctance to vulnerability with childhood cultural/household experiences, argues that asking for help enables deeper romantic connection by allowing men to feel useful, and finishes with a call-to-action to follow and book a consultation.

Hey, girl, I have a question for you. What is the most difficult thing for you to actually say? Is it, I'm sorry, Is it, I love you? Is it, I was wrong? Or is it, I need help? Now, if you're on this page, you're probably single. And if you're single, your answer was probably, I need help. I am 95% sure of it. And, you know, especially if you're a woman of color. And you know why that is? It's because when we ask for help, we have to be at our most vulnerable. And you are probably not used to being vulnerable, which is one of the reasons why you might be single. We can't deeply connect with men unless we are vulnerable. Our vulnerability actually inspires their vulnerability, and that's how we deeply connect with one another. Now, let's step back a second. Why aren't we vulnerable? Well, I'm pretty sure, especially if you have grown up in a household that is black or brown, that it wasn't safe for you to ask for help. That when you did, your needs weren't actually fulfilled. And so in your head, you realize that no one is going to actually help me, that I have to help myself. And that is how you've lived your life up until this point. The problem with that when it comes to dating and relationships is that a man is going to actually want to help you and feel like he is of value to you. So if he asks you, hey, let me carry that bag for you, and you're like, no, I got it, he's going to take that as rejection and he's going to step away and he's going to find another person that he feels like he can be of value to.
Ask for help. That is going to be the game changer when it comes to not just your romantic relationships, but also all of your relationships. Okay. Follow for more. And if you're interested in learning how to date differently, definitely go into the link in my bio and book a free consultation call with me. Have a great day.
