Short YouTube monologue advising that a man not complimenting a woman is not necessarily a red flag. The speaker (creator) — who works with smart, successful Black and Brown women — argues that lack of compliments can reflect upbringing and that effort (organizing dates, timely follow-up) is a better indicator of interest than frequent physical compliments.
Close it. And we have a question. When it comes to dating, is it a red flag if a guy doesn't compliment you? This is such a good question. And I'm literally going to do a video about this tomorrow. Yeah.
What I'm going to say is that, no, it is not. It is not a bad thing if he doesn't compliment you. Here's what I know. Because I work with smart and successful black and brown women all day, every day. And. And because you all have been raised to only be complimented on your intelligence, great grades, you're so good at school, you're so smart. So many of y' all are not being told that you're beautiful and that you're. That you're gorgeous and pretty. So many of us are hyper focused on that or hypersensitive to that. And so when a guy does that, y' all are thinking that, oh, my God, he really likes me. And he. Right. Do you understand that, like, no shade, the catfish of the sea do that.
The guys that are hyper focused on the physicality do that. Those are not the guys you want to be in a relationship with. Yeah. So no, girl, please understand that his effort around organizing a date, asking you out within two to three days after that initial date, that's what you want to be evaluating. Okay?
