A short monologue by Anwar White (YouTube, Mar 6, 2024) addressing whether men know they'll marry a woman the first time they see her. The speaker argues men often categorize women quickly (within five minutes) into roles—booty call, situationship, potential girlfriend, potential wife—and that being labeled a "potential girlfriend" can trap someone in long-term non-marital relationships if boundaries aren't set.

Is it true that most men knew they were going to marry their future wife the first time they saw her? I think it's partly true. I think that what happens is that men will categorize you like when they first meet you, like when within the first five minutes.
Booty call, potential girlfriend, potential wife. So when the guys say, oh, I knew I was going to marry her, he means, like, I knew she had the potential for me to marry her when I met her. Right? Because here's the thing, there are many times where guys like, oh, my God, she's marriage material. And then a month later, when she goes crazy, she's out. Right? So again, it is booty call, situationship, potential girlfriend, potential wife. The shade is when you get into that potential girlfriend category, because sometimes you will stay in that potential girlfriend category and never go to wife. That's why you see some of these girls that are girlfriends for 4, 5, 7, 10, 12 years, because that was a category that they were put in and they didn't know how to navigate upward or set the boundary and cut it off immediately.
