Short YouTube monologue by Anwar White offering dating advice for Black women about dating white men. Key points: prefer men who already have non-White friends; seek partners who protect and advocate against micro- and macro-aggressions in public; ensure he gives space and honors your lived experience when discussing race; look for genuine interest/engagement with Black culture (music, shows, hair care).

Chocolate said tips when dating white men As a black woman.
One of the things that I look for, I look for a couple of things.
If he doesn't have.
A non white friend in his circle, it's a no for me. Dog.
Like that he's friends with. Generally, I'm also looking for, does he protect and advocate for you?
As women of color, you will often go through a lot of micro and macro aggressions and he's going to need to protect you from that. Does he do that? This is what you're looking for when you're on a date with him, when the waitress is not looking at you or giving you stank eye or a stank attitude, does he check her?
When you're dating a white man, you will need to talk about race. And when you talk about race, you will need to see does he give you space to lead that conversation and does he honor your lived experience or does he. Is he quick to say no? No, that's not how it is.
The other thing that I look out for is does he have any sort of understanding or interest around black culture?
Does he. Is he into some black shows or black music? In Germany, they call R and B and rap black music. Is he into any black music?
You know, there's. It's not a coincidence that there are a lot of white men that will help you with your hair, help you take out your braids, help you wash it. That those are the kinds of white men that are not scared of diving in head first, hands first into black culture.
Yeah.
So something to think about.
As.
